Background.
Cherri Walker was short for her age, with a slim build. Her hair was a light brown and was as soft as silk. Her face was round and smooth with freckles across the bridge of her nose and cheeks. Her eyes were a hazelnut colour, and her lips were pink. Cherri was an only child raised in a proper upper-class family, as a child she was expected to walk and talk with great grace, etiquette and politeness whilst maintaining her composure. She was a confident outspoken young lady although at times without meaning to she could act a little snobbish. She also had a moral compass, and was a deep thinker.

Cherri's mother Mrs Elliane Walker worked at St Mungo hospital as some kind of specialist, her mother never really talked too much about her work in front of Cherri, but Cherri understood her mother was well known within the medical community. Her father, Mr Steve Walker, on the other hand, was a government official in Wales. The family home resided in the coastal township of Abersoch in Wales, overlooking the beach, it was a three-story beach house complete with a deck and swimming pool, a movie cinema, and study area with a complete library. Cherri own bedroom had a balcony overlooking the beach.

Cherri attended a highly prestigious preparatory school for girls aged between seven and thirteen and was academically gifted. Her prestigious school taught the core subjects maths, science, english and taught an additional two subjects welsh and french as an elective, but also taught other electives such as history, computers, art, music, drama. Cherri enrolled in both languages, learned the flute, and enjoyed studying history and acting.

Cherri always knew she was different from her classmates, she couldn't explain it, but whenever she became too emotional strange things would occur around her, she couldn't help it nor could she ever truly explain the strangeness. The first incident occurred when Cherri was nine at the school's vegetable garden, she had just watered her tomato plant, and she wanted the plant to grow so badly when suddenly the plant just grew and grew until it doubled in size.

There were so many other strange days at school for Cherri most of which occurred on the schoolyard playground, the teachers would often ask for an explanation, but whenever her classmates attempted to explain the strange occurrence and that it was supposedly Cherri's fault, the teachers did not believe them and told them to stop telling lies, over time many of her classmates began to avoid Cherri and her strangeness, but that did not matter to Cherri for she still had her close friends.

Outside of school, Cherri delighted in a range of outdoor activities including swimming, sailing, camping, rock climbing, abseiling and horse riding. Cherri was tutored privately at home after school from six to eight at night before going to bed.

It was around Cherri's tenth birthday that her parents sat her down and told her the truth about her strangeness, her Mother as it turns out came from a long line of witches and wizards and had attended one of the most prestigious schools for witches and wizards, Hogwarts, a school which Cherri would be attending in a year's time. Cherri's Father as it turns out was not a wizard and was the first non-magical person to ever marry into Cherri's mother's family, magic took some getting use to for Cherri's father and a lot of acceptance from Cherri's grandparents. Cherri parent's had decided at the time of her birth that Cherri would benefit from growing up as a normal child to shield her from the fame her mother's work would bring to the family household, besides her father had felt bringing her up in the non-magic society would help her to have a better understanding of both worlds until she was ready to attend Hogwarts. Cherri didn't believe her parents until her mother pulled her wand out and demonstrated magic right in front of her, since that time her mother had been performing magic openly in front of Cherri in preparation for the day she would transition to Hogwarts.

Cherri's letter for Hogwarts arrived one fateful morning by owl, she was so excited when she saw the owl fly into the living room dropping the letter on the living room table, and so began her trip to Diagon Alley.
