Lauren Stonewood was born in Cambridge, England on March 5th, 2009. Her mother, a muggle-born from America, had moved to England after she met and fell in love with Lauren’s father, a pure-blood from England. They originally met at a magical convention for life-saving potions and draughts that was held in New York. Lauren’s parents both work for the Ministry of Magic. Her mother works for the ministry as a researcher of magical positions and draughts and her father is part of the Accidental Magical Reversal Squad. They end up working together quite a lot.

Lauren’s father comes from a Pure-blood family, the Stonewood's. According to him their family goes back quite a while and has quite a bit of money. The Stonewood's are a more complicated family. It is relatively split when it comes to houses or basic morals. Half of her family are all Slytherins while the other side is a mixture of Gryffindors and a few Hufflepuffs. So it is never boring at the Stonewood’s family get-togethers. Lauren’s mother’s side is more unknown. She knows her grandparents are muggles but anything past that is unknown.

For the first few years of her life, Lauren was sent to a muggle school. Her mother had insisted on it because of how much she gained and learned from her own experience at one as a child. Her father was not originally pleased with the idea but he came around eventually. Lauren found that she was best at Maths and science. However, she has understood from a relatively young age that she was going to do much more than just solve numerical equations. The beginning of her magical experience started on a day like most others.

Lauren's first bit of magic surfaced when she was 8 years old. She was having to do some maths homework with her mother when it happened. She was growing frustrated, trying to remember what the greatest common factors were of 24 when she noticed it. Tiny, little, white flakes were falling all around her. When the first one touched the paper it began to melt leaving a small patch of water on her homework. When she looked to her mother, there was nothing but joy and happiness written all over her features.

When Lauren received her letter to Hogwarts she was thrilled. Lauren figured she would most likely be put into Gryffindor, Hufflepuff or Slytherin due to her families history. Lauren doesn’t really care what house she is put in as long as she finds people she gets along with.

First Year:

When she arrived at Hogwarts, Lauren was in awe of the castle and all of the exciting energy that was practically radiating from the walls. When she gets to the sorting ceremony, the hat takes a little longer to sort her. It couldn’t decide between Gryffindor or Hufflepuff. In the end, it decided that Hufflepuff was Lauren’s path. At first, she was a little confused thinking Gryffindor suited her much more but after her experience with the sorting hat, she realized that Hufflepuff could teach her more about patience and kindness, the first of which needed a lot of work.
She is in Hufflepuff and her sure as heck is going to try and make the most of it. For now, Lauren is just looking forward to what her first year at Hogwarts will bring.
