Matrix had wanted a quiet place to practice his violin and had decided that the ballroom was the best option. He had not realized that there was a rehearsal room when he had come here, so this clearly seemed like the best option. Not entirely sure if he was even allowed to be there, Matrix creaked the door open and let a sigh of relief to see that it was empty. Quickly, he would walk in to the room and closed the door behind him. “ Only for a little bit…” He muttered, heading to the far corner with his violin case.

Once he had reached the corner, he would open his case and take out his violin. It was a gift from his mother on his 8th birthday. He would stare at it for an awkward minute, remembering his family and missing them. He decided once he finished practicing for today, he would write up a letter to them. He would next take out his bow and place the violin on his shoulder, playing a few notes to tune it up. After that, he would play a few scales to warm himself up. One he felt ready, he decided to began the piece he was working on.

Matrix would take a deep breath and began playing “Csárdás“ by Vittorio Monti. It really was a difficult piece and Matrix would have to put a lot of energy into it if he wanted it to sound good. “So far, so good” Matrix would think, a little sweaty. He let the music drift him away, making him unaware of what’s happening outside him. The only way others would get him to pay attention to them, was for him to either finish playing or get interrupted.

"Why have a ballroom with no balls?"-Anna
At the time, I didn't think much about it, but now, having an actual ballroom at school, brought back questions. I was going to make it my goal to fill this ballroom with balls, starting with the little red bouncy ball I found in my trunk.
As I neared the ballroom, I started to hear music. My eyes widened with excitement, they had instruments here! I whistled along with whoever was playing the music, though I went off key a lot. Boy, whistling was hard, but maybe I could join them on the piano since the piece was originally written for Violin, Piano, or Mandolin.
When I reached the door, I slipped in and sat down near the door, my back against a wall. I didn't want to disturb them. The person playing the Violin was a boy, with short black hair and icy blue eyes. I sighed quietly, I'd met someone with Ocean eyes and Icy eyes. Why couldn't my eyes be a pretty blue too?
He looked like he was really concentrating, so I decided to just sit and wait for him to be done. I would ask to play a duet later.
In the meantime, I would finish what I came here to do. Taking the little red bouncy ball out of my pocket, I chucked it across the big room, watching it bounce on the ground until it rolled to a stop under a giant painting of a giraffe. The giraffe really was big. It flicked it's ear...wait what? I blinked at it. The giraffe blinked back. I screamed.

Matrix was nearing the end of the piece, smiling. This was his favorite part. Once he played the first note, he heard a girl scream. Matrix’s would come back to reality and jump in shock. During this jump, his violin would fly out of his hand. “Oh No” Matrix would mutter dropping his bow and lunging at the violin. He would of barely caught it. Matrix would sigh in relief, just taking deep breaths for an awkward minute. He would then remember why he had stopped, Matrix would look up and see the girl about 6 feet in front of him. She had short red hair and dark blue eyes. He would quickly stand up. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” Matrix would look at the girl. She seemed to be okay, just a little scared. Was he really that scary? He WAS almost a foot taller than her. From the corner of his eye, he would notice a a red ball under a painting. He could of sworn it was not there before. He looked at it and then questioningly at the girl. “Maybe she saw be and tried to attack me with a ball but missed” He thought, deducting from the scenario.

The freaking giraffe was now munching on a leaf, in the painting.
I continued to glare at the painting as I muttered an apology to the guy.
"Excuse me for like a second" I say distractedly. Still looking at the painting, I started inching across the wall towards it. If it could move inside the painting, who says it won't just walk right out of it. Once i'm directly in front of it, I examine the portrait. It seems normal, tall golden frame, and the giraffe seems to be painted with oil pastels. I reach my hand out and press it flatly against the painting, surprised my hand didn't go through.
"What the-" It was a painting. Definitely. Confused I look back up at the giraffe who was now walking further into the painting. I stared blankly at it. Nope, This wasn't possible, I'm crazy.
I swallow and look back at the boy, "Hey, um kiddo, Is this magic" I asked, pointing at the giraffe. Once it left my mouth, I suddenly realized how stupid it was. Of course it was magic, I'm at a school for magic for gods sake. I clamp a hand over my mouth, though i don't say anything. There still was a chance it wasn't magic, and I was just some crazy person using the excuse of being a witch.

"Excuse me for like a second" The girl would say looking straight past him at the painting. “Uh.....Okay?” Matrix would say confused. The girl would walk towards the painting and reach her hand out to touch it. Matrix would just stare at her. Slowly, he would inch towards his violin case and slowly open it. He would then place his violin inside, not making a sound. He did not want to disturb the girls examination of the painting. As he was reaching for his bow, a few feet away the girl would ask him a question. "Hey, um kiddo, Is this magic" Matrix would jump to a standing position. “Huh... Oh yes. It is magical. First time?” He would ask curiously. This was the first time he had met someone who had a less knowledge of magic than him. “A lot of them are nice, but some can have a foul attitude” He would say gesturing towards the painting of Johann Sebastian Bach. The painting would give him a dirty look. Inside, he was freaking out, he was standing in front of a painting of one of the most famous composers in the world, but he decided to remain calm. Matrix would then break into a smile. “ Matrix Kaida, by the way. Nice to meet you.” He would say bowing towards Wynter. Using this opportunity, he would grab his bow and throw it up in the air and catch it behind his back.
