Dark Dreams  Solo   Finished

Jenna sat in her enclosed room and cried at the sudden loss of her mother. It felt like her world was falling apart, piece by piece. Suddenly, she heard a floorboard creak. She slowly turned her head to face a man pointing a wand at her head, a menacing look in his eyes. Sweat drowned his face.

"Dad?" She managed to whisper. "D-don't..."

Jenna crawled backwards toward her small desk in the corner slowly in fear.
Her father, who was about to say something, was then restrained by ropes at someone's binding spell. He tried to fight and squirm, but it was no use; he was caught. As he fell, Jenna's frightened gaze turned to another man standing in her doorway.

"It's alright, young one. You're safe now." The man then walked forward and bent over to pick up her father's wand. Her father glared at him. The man just scoffed. "Come, take him away," he said.

Two figures approached the doorway. The temperature in the room instantly dropped. Jenna's (very little) furniture was frosted over. The floorboards were ice. Jenna shivered in cold fear. She risked a glance.
The figures appeared to be floating, and they were completely cloaked by darkness. She shuddered again.
As they floated closer, Jenna dove under her desk and covered her head with her arms; still shaking. When she could only hear frightening, slow breathing, Jenna peeked at the scene. Her father (still bound, but with chains now) was risen off the floor and floating with the cloaked figures, his face stretched out. Jenna's eyes widened. It was like his soul was being sucked out of him, and it was being fed to the floating figures.

That's when Jenna lost it. She screamed. At the top of her lungs. All of her emotions became one and were pushed out through that scream. It felt like nothing she had ever experienced before. Every feeling of every inch of her body left her and materialized. Colors of every kind danced around the room as she continued to scream - even though at this point she couldn't even hear herself. Her window shattered as some colors hit it and the dark figures, panicking, flew out with her father in their grasp. Every piece of glass on her street had simultaneously broken with Jenna's window. (street lights, car windows, building windows, etc.) The man had fallen to his knees and it looked as if he felt all the pain his body could take. He winced in agony, but didn't make any noise. Then, he slumped forward unconsciously.

Jenna then (finally) stopped screaming and collapsed.

Jenna woke in a cold sweat and swallowed hard. Her breaths were short and sharp, and her heart ached; trying to recreate the feeling of the scream. She bit her lip and slunk back into her seat in annoyance.
Can't I get any rest without dreaming about my childhood??
Jenna thought about her mother again, and the moment she died...

"STAY BACK, ANNIE!!!" cried Jenna's mother, her purple hair flying in the wind. "Kill me- not her. She doesn't know her powers! It wasn't her fault, it was mine. I should have told her sooner..." Jenna's father was closing in on her, wand erect. He pointed it at her mother and... "AVADA KEDAVRA!!"

"ANNABELLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jenna woke again, this time even more startled. Her memories had never been that clear before. Her mother's words were always muffled, and her face was always blurry. This time, she heard and saw everything. But what did her mother mean by Jenna's powers? Did it have something to do with the scream??

Suddenly, a boy slid open her compartment door. "We've arrived at Hogwarts!"

Whatever was going on, Jenna would have to figure it out later. She had a school to take on.
