"There's no such thing as strange creatures, only blinked people" - Newt Scamander
August 8th, 2020
Henry entered the bookstore with the bell above chiming his arrive, he looked around and took a deep breath to let the smell of the small bookstore fill his nose. Henry looked around to see if anyone else was there and noticed that he must have arrived early, Henry decided to search a few of the aisles for new books while he waited for the others to arrive. After a while the young second year had a few books piled up in his arms as he looked for a place to sit that was also near the door so the others would see him when they arrived. Henry chose a small table with three other comfy looking chairs next to a window by the bookstores entrance, Henry smiled at his find and went to take a seat at the table.
As the time past Henry begun and finished reading most of his pile, he thought about getting more but decided against it as he looked down at his messager type bag that was fill with books and others that they would use for some advanced studying before the term begins. Henry looked back at the door to see if anyone was entering and at last night's one was, he tried not to worry as he continued to read but the thought still haunted him in the back of the head.

Miranda had come to Diagon Alley with only her brother for accompaniment, since their parents were busy tending to some new creature or other that a traveling wizard had dropped off for the next couple days. She hadn't discovered all the details, because her mother and father had been quick to send their children off, but whatever it was was quite dangerous, especially to children that were "too nosy and curious for their own good".
A faint sigh escaped her lips, but she quickly ended it and continued further into the store, glancing around in hopes of spotting one of her fellow Hogwarts students. Even though school didn't start for a couple weeks, it was still a good idea to get in some extra studying. And doing it with friends...well, that was even better.
Unlike many Ravenclaws, Miranda was not only studious, but had an outgoing and talkative nature as well. It was odd, yes, but what did she care? Though she was nowhere near as talkative as her brother, the little lion. In fact, he'd disappeared early on to their trip with an excuse about getting a snack at the Ice-Cream Parlor, although Miranda knew he'd spotted some of his school friends and gone after them.
With a grin, she spotted Henry sitting at one of the sturdy tables with an impressive stack of books piled around him. "Getting started without us?" she said teasingly as she sat down next to him. "Or is this just pleasure reading? I gotta say, it's quite large, even for me."

Henry looked up when he heard Miranda's voice then saw the blonde haired ravenclaw with clear blue eyes that reminded him if a lake take a seat next to him. Henry quickly put his book down then moves his pile so Miranda had room for her stuff, he then made sure that when the others arrived they would also have room. Henry looked up at Miranda while letting out a sigh of relief, They didn't forget at least I'm no longer alone, that's good news and now instead of reading these interesting books I can chat with Miranda a bit, Henry smiled at Miranda as he grazed into her clear blue eyes and spoke " don't worry, I didn't start without you guys. Their purely pleasure reading that's why there's so many," Henry paused a bit as he chuckled at his small joke then continued to speak " it's great to see you, how's your summer holiday? I wonder if we can sneak into the forbidden forest this year." Henry ended remembering their promise that they'll sneak into the forbidden forest sometime together in their second year, he quickly side glanced the door to see if anyone else was coming then looked back at Miranda.

"It's great to see you, how's your summer holiday? I wonder if we can sneak into the forbidden forest this year," Henry continued. He'd made room on the table for her and the other two group members, so Miranda was free to set the single book she'd brought with her on the table.Interacting with @Henry Knight
"I definitely hope so," she replied, and patted the book she'd just set down. "I've been studying it." The book's cover boasted an image of a large tree with twisted black branches and an almost imperceptible snarling face carved into its trunk. A creepy picture if there ever was one, but entirely inaccurate. Miranda had seen the real trees from a distance, and none of them had terrifying dark faces on them. It was probably just meant to put the general bad vibe of the forest into image.
However, most of the books she'd taken a look at so far had one main message: don't go there. Only a few had actually listed the positive reasons to head there (which weighed out the negative reasons, in her opinion) and even they had been a bit limited for her taste. No one wanted to test the rumors at the risk of their life or sanity.

Henry smiled at her answer as he looked back at the door for the other two members of their early study group, that he silently wished would continued well into their Hogwarts days as well. Henry then turned back to Miranda as he searched his pile of books for a specific books for a couple of minutes then once he found it pulled it out and slid it over to Miranda. The book was originally pitch black and had a picture of a single tree on it with no other words or markings, since on the inside it had in simple writing; rumors of the forbidden forest for those of faint of heart be warn; stay away. Henry always thought that the title and even the book was quite funny since it spoke of all these rumours that the forbidden forest held but no truth was ever spoken of them since no one it said had dare to enter before. Something that Henry wanted to do just to see if those rumours were true or not, Henry then spoke " I've been reading up on it to, mostly on the rumours through," Henry paused then continued speaking " I'm most interested if any if the are true, like the one of a previous gamekeeper releasing a acromantula in the forest and now supposedly has a whole family of it's own kin."

Miranda studied the book Henry had handed her in interest. She traced the branches of the tree with one finger, then flipped it open to look at some of the first few pages. More negative rumours. She was definitely getting tired of all the uninformative books that basically only repeated the same warning over and over again.Interacting with @Henry Knight
Wondering where the heck @Elias Kennedy and @Charles Simmons are

"Yeah, I heard that, too," Miranda agreed, glancing at the door again. Where were the others? "Wasn't his name, ah...Rubeus something?" She wondered why anyone would do that, even if the forest was forbidden to most students. There was no way that was safe, and he probably hadn't been allowed to by the current headmaster. Acromantulas couldn't be controlled. They were cannibalistic, for goodness sake! Even Miranda, who was used to the often strange antics of some magical creatures had a hard time stomaching that thought.

The door to the book store swung open as a confused Elias finally walked in. "This is like the 10th store I've walked into. Why is everything with these wizards making everything so confusing?" He looked around a moment, pulled out a piece of paper and read the name of the store he was supposed to go. Yeah, this was the place. But where the heck was Miranda? This WAS the place they were supposed to meet, right?
Elias was both excited and nervous to be here. He would get to see his new friend again and learn more about the world of magic. He was interested to see if this store even had any fiction boos. Yet he was nervous about the other two he was supposed to meet. Were they pure-bloods? Did they have the same hate towards muggles that others had? He shook his head as he continued to wander around aimlessly for a few moments.
Elias' train of thought vanished as he turned around and saw Miranda sitting at a table with another guy. "There you are! Finally, I was so lost, couldn't figure any of these streets out. Sorry to keep you waiting."After taking a seat, he stretched his hand out to the boy sitting across from him, "Hey, nice to meet you, name's Elias Kennedy."

The bell at the front of the store rang, its cheerful rings echoing throughout the building. Miranda looked up immediately, and grinned when she caught sight of Elias walking in, looking a bit confused.Interacting with @Henry Knight and @Elias Kennedy
"There you are! Finally, I was so lost, couldn't figure any of these streets out. Sorry to keep you waiting." The Gryffindor student sat down at their table, then looked over at Henry. "Hey, nice to meet you, name's Elias Kennedy."
Miranda waited for Henry to answer, then spoke up. "Don't worry about getting lost. I'm sure everyone does. I mean, I probably would have wound up in Knockturn Alley the first time I came here if it weren't for my parents leading me around." Realizing the muggle-born probably had no idea what Knockturn Alley was, she hurried to explain. "Kockturn's kind of like Diagon, but the items sold there are, well, darker. You know, things that aren't necessarily allowed to be sold or bought. Not legally, anyways."
She grimaced at the thought of all the dark dealings that were most likely going on just below the noses of the authorities. In a world of magic, it wasn't easy to find things out if they'd rather stay hidden.

Sorry for posting so late, was busy helping a friend that just joined site make a trunk.Charles hated himself, he was very late. He got a bit distracted at the pet shop. And what he mans by a bit distracted he mans as, he spent at least an hour at the pet shop looking at cute pets. Charles ran into the bookstore and looked around. Eventually he saw Henry and a girl and boy. "I AM SO FREAKING LATE! BUT CAN YOU BLAME ME! THE OWLS WERE SO CUTE!!!" Charles bursted out laughing at his excuse.Interacting with @Henry Knight, @Elias Kennedy, and @Miranda Everest .
Charles took a few moments to regain his composure. "Sorry about that, but I spent and hour tickling owls." Charles smiled awkwardly. Charles quickly shook his head, "Im an idiot aren't I Henry." Charles sighed. "And im not sitting done on purpose you see... Ugh why is this always so awkward to talk about." Charles sighed, and thought about what he was going to say to them. But Charles couldn't think of anything. So he decided to just get this over with.
"Well I might as well get the point out before you treat me like an outsider without knowing. My name is Charles Simmons. Im a dhampir, and was born into a pure-blood family. But I don't share the opinions of my ancestor or my parents. I think everybody is equal and Muggle borns are fine with me as well as muggles. So if your gonna freak out about my corpse like skin, and how I'm missing my canines. Then please just say something and I will go. And I take no offence in it, I'm perfectly used to people seeing me as a monster." Charles did an award smile. Now that everything was said he just needed to wait for the strange girl and boys reply.

Elias's hand went limp as a strange boy barged into the shop and started rambling about cute owls. His confusion deepened even further as Charles says something about a dhampir. He looked around the room to see if attention was being drawn towards their table, Yet, it seemed like no one cared, as if this was just normal for everyone.
Elias slowly raised his hand to ask a question. Then realized what he was doing was just dumb and looked silly, "Uhm," He started, "I don't mean to be rude, but how can someone be a... Damp Fire?" Elias cocked his head slightly as he was sure he just said that completely wrong. "I'm kinda new to all this magic stuff. We aren't even five minutes in and I'm already completely lost.
Charles seemed honest enough, though a bit strange. Elias had never seen someone like him before. Not that it would even matter. He had already accepted that he would probably see many strange things from here on out and he's already seen a ton of different people around.
As his mind cleared, Elias turned towards Miranda with a look of confusion as what she said finally registered. "Wait. The wizard world just has a black market that anybody can walk into and buy bad things? Why don't the magic police or whatever do something about it?"
