Lonely Arrival Solo

Rohan didn't know why, but his father had always this little expression that told everyone to hurry up. Even when he sat just calmly, in the car, he looked as if he was annoyed by everyone surrounding him. This made Rohan feel very uncomfortable, and he put on some music and just looked outside.

When they arrived at the station, Rohan opened his father's door and together they walked towards the platform. Rohan was confused at first, because there didn't seem to be any platform called 9 3/4.

"Dad? I don't see any platform with the number nine and three quarters..."

His dad said nothing and walked towards a thin wall that seperated platforms nine and then. His dad pointed at the wall while explaining he just had to run right into it, everything would be fine and he had to go, because of what he called 'important ministry business'. His father left and Rohan stared at the empty wall. He still had 35 minutes left. He had been very early, because of his father's work.

He was scared, but the loneliness he could control. Rohan hadn't really gotten much love from his father, ever. His mother was the lover, his father the money generator. That's how Rohan called it in his head.

Rohan followed his father's instructions. He pushed his trolley straight through the not-so-solid wall, hoping for the best. When he got out on the other side he couldn't believe his eyes. There it was. The red steam train he had been waiting to see. He had read all about it in his book "Hogwarts: A History" and was really excited for the journey. First he had been anxious to sit alone, but after his shopping trip he had met this girl Elisabeth who said she would like to sit with him. Of course, she had only said it and not done it yet, but Rohan believed.

The platform was nearly empty. Rohan checked his pockets a last time for his ticket, and when he held it he felt confident. He was going to hogwarts, the best wizard's school in the whole world (or so his father had told him).

He got into the train, choosing one of the last compartments, hoping Elisabeth would find him.
