Chess Combat, Game 1 Spectators
This is the Spectator thread for the Chess Combat Game One (Year One)
The area chosen for the Chess Combat matches was located in the fields in between the different schools’ encampments. It was certainly closest to the Hogwarts’ encampment but they had not had the proper space to set everything up in the encampment proper. They had gotten lucky with the weather, the sky was somewhat cloudy but the sun was out and while there was a slight breeze, the temperature was quite mild.
They had set up a (now-closed) sign-up booth to the side of the prepared combat area. A field of 5 by 5 squares marked in the grass by magical chalk made up said duelling arena. Surrounding the stage were a couple of benches for spectators and people waiting their turn. The benches were warded so that people sitting on them would be much more unlikely to be hit by stray spells. The benches had been organized in the same breath as the special permission for under-aged students to cast spells as part of this event.

Zahid stepped forward to call out the names for each team and asked the first two teams to compete to step forward while directing the rest to take a seat on the benches with the rest of the spectators until it was their match-up's turn.

Mentions: Alisa Alekseyevna Sokolova [@Edric Banes] & technically Greta Fransson & the Match 1 teams
Milena hadn't planned her path when she left their tent to get some fresh air and take a walk to enjoy some quiet, she just set off and took a meandering route through the Durmstrang camp and beyond, through the area between the different schools' campsites, when she had noticed what seemed like a crowd. Curious, she'd walked over and caught some snippet of conversation mentioning duels or something along those lines. Nothing of interest then, really. Her brothers- no, actually, Olga would probably have been the first one to sign-up, had she been here right then and there, but Milena had no interest in duelling. It brought up memories of those fencing lessons... Just. No.
But just as she was about to turn away, she noticed Alisa in the crowd at what appeared to be a sign-up booth, and so she stuck around, taking a loping path around the area, waiting to see if Alisa was going to participate. If she did, she felt it was her duty to cheer her friend on, well, as much as she would ever cheer anyone on. She would watch her friend's fight and (most likely) silently and stoically root for her.
Staying as close to the prepared stage while circling around the area, she heard one of the Hogwarts professors call out the teams. Seeing as Alisa seemed to be in the last match, she decided to take off after watching the first two teams take their positions and promising Alisa that she would be there later to cheer her on, and to continue her walk for now. She would return when it was time for Alisa's match. She would be there for her friend, but she had no interest in sitting around for how-ever long observing duels that meant nothing to her – especially since she only recognised one person [Greta Fransson] in this match and it wasn't like they'd ever really interacted before, she wasn't exactly sure if she knew the girl's first name correctly either – even if she found a five against five duel a bit unusual.
