Candlelight flickered inside their tent as Vita entered it, and she let out a tiny gasp of surprise at the pleasant sight that met her eyes. The interior was more homey than she could have ever imagined — the sofas had so many cushions on them that she could probably pile them up and drown in them. But instead, she nervously wiped her hands on the sides of her dress, suddenly afraid of spoiling the plush furnishings. The carpet was rich and deep beneath her shoes and as she stepped forward, and the space seemed to only grow bigger. Two separate bedrooms met her wide eyed gaze, and she turned to face her tent-mate with outright joy in her expression. They were going to have a fabulous time!
”This is incredible.” Vita breathed, too startled to muster the words in English. She knew practicing her English was important, of course, but honestly, no British folk spoke Russian, so why should she bother learning their tongue?
Besides, Ash spoke Russian just like every other Durmstrang student. However, Vita was thankful that he wasn’t always like them in character. Whilst many boys at the Institute thought they could play around with girls and show off in broomsticks, Ash was a bit more reserved. Vita hardly new the boy well at all, but she knew that he was probably similar to her — far enough from the crowd to feel apart, but not far enough to be lonely. Besides, they couldn’t be lonely anymore, even if they tried. For the next twenty days, they had each other.
