Celebration for Durmstrang Contributors Closed

It was broad daylight and an average-sized tent stood among so many other tents, not looking particularly special except for one red sign that hung outside that said:

Enter here to celebrate contributors to Durmstrang’s first broom fund.

The plain look of the exterior was intended to be unrepresentative, however, as to not attract more attention than it had to. Today this tent was to house a party to celebrate the generosity of those enthusiastic quidditch fans who had contributed to the purchase of brooms for Durmstrang quidditch players who had no brooms of their own. Contributors, quidditch team members, and party crashers were all likely to be in attendance. Certainly a diverse range of characters would come to eat, drink, and be merry, but not just one person from the Durmstrang team liked a rowdy party and the organizers had anticipated this. The interior of the tent would be extra big, even for “larger-than-meets-the-eye” standards. It would be so large in fact that people who wanted to accumulate in small, quiet clusters would be left in relative peace even if a huge ruckus were to break out on the other side of the tent.

Upon entering the tent you could see banners decked out in every which direction as red and black streamers hung down over the doorway and from nearly every corner that would support them. Lively music came from an old wireless at one corner of the room. Near the tent’s entrance the music would be soft enough that conversation was more than readily audible, while nearer to the wireless itself an upbeat party atmosphere was in the making.

The center of the tent was wide open and lined with a wood panel floor that would be good for dancing and game-playing. Along the sides of the room were tables loaded with an abundance of the usual finger foods, butterbeer in large tankards, pumpkin juice, a chocolate fondue fountain… The smorgasboard was so diverse that it was likely to have a favorite available for anyone but the pickiest of eaters.

There was enough light to see pretty well, but it was also dim enough to allow spots of mood lighting to flood the room with color. Overall the tent’s look was fashionable but kept classy by the occasional floating candle chandelier and other tasteful decorations.

No rule-breaking contraband from the Weasley’s prank shop or its ilk was currently inside the tent, and the event was designed as to not cause anyone to break curfew even after several hours of socializing... but the first of the party’s attendees were only just beginning to show up.
OOC Note: This celebration is for Durmstrang donors and quidditch players, but if you just like to party you are more than welcome to join in the festivities.
