Miranda stepped onto the train, her hands aching from dragging her heavy trunk. it seemed even heavier than it had been when she'd worked to get it from her house to the car, if that was possible. She blamed all the new supplies for it. She heard scrapping behind her, and turned to help her younger brother get up, then led him down the hall in the middle of the train, looking for an empty compartment for them to share.

If someone were to come in and join them, though, she was sure she wouldn't mind. However, she knew she wasn't up for the conversation that would follow if she entered a room with people already in it. There was a difference, or at least, there was one for her.

"This way," she told Cedar, holding open the door to a compartment that was almost to the back. "It's empty." Miranda half expected him to complain about that fact, and readied an argument if he did, but in the end he didn't. The excitement of getting to Hogwarts must be getting to him, too, and he didn't even have any friends to look forwards too.

"Here, I'll put your trunk up," she told him, first putting her trunk up on the racks above their heads, and then his. "All done."

Henry slipped out of his compartment that he was sharing with his best friend; Cricket and started to wander the aisle to look for any friends he met in the previous year. Henry easily moved around those with trunks since he left his own in the compartment that he was sharing with Cricket, I'll just catch up with some other friends then I'll meet Crick back at our compartment, Henry scanned each compartment he passed looking for friends eventually he thought he saw Charles pulling his trunk down the aisle in the other side of the train. Henry smiled and started to speed walk a bit to reach him but then suddenly came to a halt when he noticed a familiar face in one of the compartments.

Henry saw Miranda, a blonde haired second year ravenclaw with clear blue eyes like a river in the compartment along with a blonde haired boy who looked a bit younger then Miranda, that must her brother that she talks about a lot, Henry smiled and got ready to open the door to the compartment as a thought let his mind, is it possible she got even more stunning then last year, Henry brushed past it as he opened the compartment door and enter the compartment but remained standing, as he didn't want to interrupt anything. Henry waved hello both to the blonde haired boy and Miranda then spoke" Miranda, it's good to see you! How was your summer holiday?" Henry then paused and looked over at the blonde haired boy before adding " I don't think we met, I'm Henry."

Cedar gave me permission to godmod him, so...
Miranda was idly flipping through a book, trying to tune out Cedar as he shifted back and forth and kept trying to push past her in order to look out the window. It wasn't exactly a peaceful atmosphere, but she was determined to make it work. The train ride wasn't going to be short. She'd have plenty of time for sight-seeing in an hour or two.

The sudden noise of the compartment door sliding open startled her into looking up.

"Miranda, it's good to see you! How was your summer holiday?" Henry said from the doorway. He then paused and glanced over at Cedar. " I don't think we met, I'm Henry."

"Henry!" Miranda exclaimed, her surprised expression melting into one of elation. "It's nice to see you again!"

She was cut off by Cedar suddenly standing up and reaching over to shake the Slytherin boy's hand. "I'm Cedar," he said, and Miranda's lips quirked up in a smile. Her younger brother was obviously glad to have someone "more interesting than his boring sister" to talk to. Even after all their years together, he still didn't understand her fascination with reading, and found it very annoying when she did it. Not that that prevented her from doing it either way, although his gripping succeeded in getting on her nerves.

Before Henry could respond to Miranda the young, blonde haired boy seemed to grab his hand and shake it as he introduced himself as Cedar. So he is Miranda's little brother, I do recognized that name from when Miranda talk about him, Henry shook his hand back as he smiled when he spoke " it's nice to meet you Cedar, I take it that your Miranda's little brother. She speaks about you a lot, all good things." Henry then quickly peered out of the compartment to see how far Charles was from where he was and he still was a good distance away to give Henry sometime to talk to Miranda along with her younger brother; Cedar. Henry took a seat next to Miranda and kind of turned his hand so he could look at her clear blue eyes, her eyes are truly beautiful along with her hair and just her total complexion... wait what are you talking about Henry just stop ok, Henry smiled as he tried to block out his thoughts then spoke to Miranda " so how have you been, I miss talking to you Miranda and getting into mischief with you as well." Henry then remember that Cedar was also there and he didn't want to leave him to be forgotten so he the spoke quickly " and I'm guessing that your a first year, Cedar? Are you hoping to be sorted into any specific house?"

Miranda shuffled over to make room for Henry as he sat down next to her, taking that moment to shoot her brother an exasperated look.

"So how have you been, I miss talking to you Miranda and getting into mischief with you as well. And I'm guessing that you're a first year, Cedar? Are you hoping to be sorted into any specific house?" Henry asked.

"Yup,"
Cedar replied with a half-smile. "And there's no worry about what house I'll be in. I know I'm a Gryffindor. Everyone says it."

Miranda quickly nodded in agreement with his words. Although, his "everyone" only consisted of her, her parents, and the older lady that yelled at Cedar whenever he got into trouble (which was often). It had come as quite a shock when she'd approached them one day, nodded at her brother, and told him he'd make a good Gryffindor. Until that moment, they'd had no idea she was a part of the magical world.

"I missed you too, Henry," she replied with a smile that matched her brother's. "Sorry I didn't send you any owls over the break. My parents kept us pretty busy. It wasn't very interesting anyways."

"Not interesting?" Cedar yelped, his expression one of excitement and smugness that immediately warned Miranda of oncoming trouble. "You wouldn't believe how many times Miranda got herself busted over the summer! She got into more trouble than I did, and that's saying something!"

Henry couldn't help but laugh a bit as the two siblings talked, it sort of reminded him of how he acted with his own siblings and sort of also made him miss his won siblings to. Henry brushed past the thought ad he again peeked out of the compartment to ensure that Charles was a safe distance away before turning back to Miranda and her younger brother; Cedar with a smiled upon his face as he spoke " gryffindor is a great houses, I guess. I hope you get in but be warned some of the gryffindor's can be a hit arrogant, " Henry chuckled a bit before adding " I don't have anything against gryffindor's, my best friend is actually a gryffindor. So don't worry I was only joking, partly." Henry then thought about the second half the the sibling conversation then spoke " it sounds like you were quite busy Miranda, with getting into trouble and all," Henry paused as he wink at Cader then turned his attention back to Miranda as he spoke again " and don't worry about not sending any owls, I've been pretty busy myself over the summer so I probably wouldn't have been able to write. With the summer camp, a short trip to Dublin, and uh others things." Henry quickly stopped speaking before he said to much the brushed past the time he spent at home as he continued " so what mischief did you guys get up to over the summer holiday."

Miranda smiled wryly. "Getting into trouble is an art," she replied teasingly. "It takes plenty of practice to get it right."

Cedar rolled his eyes and elbowed her, then glanced out the window again.

"So what mischief did you guys get up to over the summer holiday?" Henry asked, and Cedar opened his mouth to reply, but Miranda beat him to it. No reason in giving him more of a chance to embarrass her.

"The usual. "Borrow" a few winged horses, leave Doxies in Cedar's wardrobe, visit the more dangerous beasts even when our parents forbid us." Her lips twitched in a small smile, and she elbowed her brother. Revenge.

"Trust me, having Doxies napping in your clothes and then bite you when you try to get dressed it the absolute opposite of fun,"
Cedar added, pulling out a chocolate frog from his pocket and starting to unwrap it. "Mother had Edymal look after me while they went to get a medi-wizard." he shuddered dramatically.

Miranda chuckled at his distressed tone. "I know, that was hilarious. Your face when he made you eat all of those herbs...it was priceless!" She turned to explain to Henry. "Edymal is a centaur that stays at our farm permanently. His, ah, healing methods are very...last century, I'd say."

Henry couldn't help but laugh a little as the two blonde haired siblings talk about their summer holidays. Henry smiled as he remember his own siblings and now sort of missed them, he also remember his summer holiday which was mostly good minus the part where he spent at home which wasn't great but also not too bad. Behind the second year's blue eyes he was thinking about his time at home and how what he thought would turn out good, was sort of the worst part of his summer holiday. He remember how he both fought then forgave his twin sister then fought with his father and while he thought he forgave his father, there was still a part of him that didn't. Not only that, the more Henry thought the more he remember that night he saw his father sneaking around the house like he was keeping a secret from him and his siblings, a secret that I will find out, Henry then snapped out of his thought as he continued to chuckle at the two siblings then spoke " sounds like you guys had a lot on your hands over the summer, also Edymal, right. Well he sounds like a interesting soul. " Henry paused then spoke again " that definitely sounds like a more exciting summer holiday the what I had. Hey Miranda do you think Cader would like to sneak into the forbidden forest with us this year?"

“sounds like you guys had a lot on your hands over the summer, also Edymal, right. Well he sounds like a interesting soul. " Henry paused, the continued speaking. "that definitely sounds like a more exciting summer holiday the what I had. Hey Miranda do you think Cader would like to sneak into the forbidden forest with us this year?"

Miranda glanced over at her brother to see him vehemently shaking his head. “No way,” he said. “Haven’t you heard? There’s supposed to be werewolves in there. You know, the ones that attack people even when they’re human. Like Frenrir Greyback.”

Miranda winced, wondering if Henry would take offense from her brother’s obvious distaste of werewolves. He didn’t mind the ones that were careful and took extra precautions, but he often forgot to say so. Besides, he had no idea Henry was a werewolf, too.

Well, we probably won’t head that far in,” Miranda replied, trying to reason with him. “Those kinds of werewolves only supposedly live in the very darkest parts.”

However, Cedar still resolutely shook his head, although his expression was now apologetic. He feels bad for mentioning how much he hates werewolves around me, she realized with a pang of sadness, even though she understood his revulsion. While he had no qualms with werewolves he was familiar with, he had never managed to shake off the fear of a werewolf not in its right mind, ever since the attack in their youth. And honestly? It wasn't like she blamed him. That night had terrified her as well.

Henry bit his lip a bit as Cedar talked about werewolves, he didn't imagine he could be biased like that especially since his own sister was one. After sometime and a response from Miranda, Henry thought the first year seemed to look a bit sorry or felt bad for saying what he had said. Henry thought about telling him that he was a werewolf to but didn't know if he should since his father always told him not to tell anyone for some reason, and Henry did tell a few more people his summer holiday from feelings rebellious against his father. What's one more plus I still feel a but more rebellious against my secret keeping and lying father, Henry smiled at Cedar as he spoke " I don't think any werewolves that were said to support you know who is living near hogwarts. I think their more like the type who are afraid and feel like a outcast because of their condition." Henry paused for a minute to smiled at Miranda before turning back to Cader as he spoke "or maybe they don't have access to wolfbane potions which is why they hide out in the forest, but still not everyone is comfortable or proud of being a werewolf like your sister, or me." Henry smiled at himself as he was glad he told another person and again rebelled against his father.
