Some Time Alone
Lindsey slowly climbed out of the Hufflepuff common room door, and wandered outside.
Her housemates were having a party to celebrate——some events that she wasn’t probably aware of, and the common room was rather noisy.
Lindsey, on the other hand, sometimes just liked to be alone. This girl had a calmness in her heart, and that, was why she believed she wasn’t sorted into Gryffindor.
Where should she go? Lindsey paused when arriving at the small hall. Definitely not the second floor corridors again. She had went on two adventures there with friends before, and she felt it…rather dangerous.
Then, the Great Lake would be good.
Lindsey liked water since she was born. It’s a surprise that her favorite element was water, and was always water. Water could make people calm down, and…well, she felt easy and merry when beside it.
The lake was peaceful this starry night. Lindsey walked over, and casually leaned against a big tree.
She looked yonder. The sky was dark, as usual, but extremely blue. They finally had a clear night. Thought Lindsey. No more rain today, or tomorrow, that’s a good news.
She couldn’t see anyone in her sight. Maybe the lions, eagles and snakes were having some sorts of parties too?
She sighed. Why don’t people like calmness? That’s a pretty interesting question.

Some Time Alone
In search of a similar sense of tranquility, Calvin found himself wandering the school grounds. He wasn't one to be fond of being cooped up indoors, which is why he rarely found himself in his Common Room, quite unlike many of his peers in his house. While many of the Ravenclaws he'd met were of the quiet, studious sort, he was fairly loud solely by comparison. Cal often wondered why he'd even been sorted into the house he was; the boy felt like he was an odd man out among budding scholars and future innovators. His struggles with magic were no secret to anyone who knew him as well; in fact, the boy was practically haunted by a sense of failure surrounding his studies.
Regardless of such a fate, Calvin's shining optimism was hard to shake. He had other goals in mind: most namely, to be on the Quidditch team. What the boy lacked in theoretical magical knowledge or practical experience in the wizarding world, he more than made up for in his passion for Quidditch stratagems and passion for the sport. Since arriving and hearing about it, the sport had become one of his most passionate interests. Cal was destined to be one of the greatest beaters the Ravenclaw Quidditch team had ever seen; he was sure of it! The thought kept him from falling into a sense of despair at his struggle with academics. Sure, he may not have been particularly magical in nature, but he was big for his age and strong and fast: qualities that, like magic potential, were worked for. The moment signups opened for the Quidditch team, Calvin would almost certainly break down the door at the opportunity to do so.
Pushing aside the lingering sense of failure Calvin felt concerning his academic tenure at Hogwarts, he put on a brave face as he wandered the grounds, trying to clear his head and fill it with more hopeful sentiments. He hummed quietly to himself as he walked, largely unconcerned with his surroundings. Still, even he was able to notice that not many people were out and about, probably due to end-of-the-year festivities. As his stroll drew him closer to the Great Lake, he noticed someone near its edge, seeming to be in thought not unlike he was. A curious sight: what could it be that drew this individual away from the parties in the Common Rooms? Was it a similar sentiment, a love for the great outdoors and a distaste for the claustrophobic castle that they shared? Only one way to find out, of course.
Calvin approached Lindsey, announcing his presence before he said anything with loud footsteps. "Heya," he began, a friendly smile on his face should the Hufflepuff turn to greet him, "It's pretty nice out here, isn't it? Relaxing, y'know." His voice was tinged with a rather typical Geordie accent, indicative of his upbringing near Newcastle. It was a strong accent, but thankfully still intelligible to the average person. "You mind if I join you out here for a bit?"

Some Time Alone
While the young badger was leaning back against a tree and looked over to the Great Lake, someone approached her.
“Heya, it's pretty nice out here, isn't it? Relaxing, y'know.” The boy said.
“Oh yeah…” Lindsey was more a bit shocked. Someone would be out and seek for the relaxing time alone? She suggested that most people would prefer to stay in the common room now.
“You mind if I join you out here for a bit?”
“Oh never mind!” Lindsey said to this Ravenclaw (hopefully he is one from his robes), “I’m glad to have a companion you know. Most students are in their common rooms now.” she smiled.
The Hufflepuffs were probably laughing and serving food to everyone at this time. Thought Lindsey. She’s pretty happy that she had went out and met this friendly Ravenclaw——he seemed as “lonely” as she was.
“By the way, I’m Lindsey. You may call me Lynn if you like.” she turned to the boy. “It’s very nice to meet you!”
This seemed a rather stupid way to start a conversation. But that’s all Lindsey could offer. She’s not…very creative at greeting others.
She looked over to the Quidditch pitch yonder.
Lindsey had been a fan for this kind of sport when she was young. Her cousin played on his school’s Quidditch team, and she went to see him play for a couple of times. If she could, the girl would like to play too.
“Do you…like Quidditch?” She asked suddenly, rather seemed awkward.

Some Time Alone
"I'm Calvin, Calvin Moore. Cal works just fine as well; I've got more nicknames than I can count," he replied, barely suppressed laughter coloring his tone with his last sentence.
It didn't seem like Cal was particularly daunted by the awkwardness. Either he didn't pick up on it—and it flew over his head totally—or Calvin was making an effort to push through it. Regardless of the scenario, it was impossible to tell based on his reply alone. As Lindsey mentioned Quidditch, the boy smiled widely, conveying his enthusiasm concerning the sport before he even replied properly. "Do I ever! Quidditch is so cool! I was at every game this term, even the ones that Ravenclaw didn't play in. I going to join my house's Ravenclaw team when I'm older. The other houses won't stand a chance!" Calvin paused, realizing that Lindsey was, in fact, not a Ravenclaw. "No offense," he added, hoping that she wouldn't take offense.
In truth, the boy was far from small, standing taller and broader than the average twelve year old. He was likely fit to join the team as is given his athleticism and strong stature. "When I grow up, I'm gonna be a star beater for the British national team. Whenever I watch the games at school, I always make sure to take lots of notes, so I know how to play!" He was beaming at this point, enthusiasm dripping from every word as he spoke.
Calvin paused momentarily, as if suddenly realizing that he was rambling a bit. He gave Lindsey an apologetic smile before asking, "Er, how about you?"

Some Time Alone
The boy introduced his name as Calvin.
Calvin seemed pretty nice. Just like Theseus, whom she had met on the Hogwarts Express.
“I going to join my house's Ravenclaw team when I'm older. The other houses won't stand a chance!” he said excitedly when talking about Quidditch.
Lindsey smiled when hearing this. Quidditch was indeed an exciting sport. Nearly all boys and girls she met was enthusiastic for it. Well, she’s too.
“Er, how about you?” Calvin stopped, smiling a bit apologetically.
“Hey I like it too!” The young badger grinned. “Actually I would like to be a beater too——this role seems, um, the only that wouldn’t get much injured.” she said with a little childishness.
The only danger to play this game was probably that you might got hit by a bludger. Her brother Edmund had been mad for baseball a couple of years ago——and he said it’s far more easier and safer than Quidditch. Except him, and that Combeferre, almost every Springhall enjoyed this kind of sport. It’s great and exciting, after all.
“Are you going to the summer camp?” she asked Calvin.
Most of her friends seemed not going——like Alina, Clifton and Leonard. She really hoped she could have someone to talk and play with at that time——this badger would never want to be lonely.
@Calvin Moore Sorry for this late reply!

Some Time Alone
Calvin was glad when he saw that Lindsey wasn't going to hold his rambling against him. Visibly relieved, he let her speak, though his eyes lit up at the mention of playing beater. "Oh gosh, that's the position I want to play too! I've been told by some of the Purebloods in my class that I'd be good at it, I hope they're right... I want to try out sometime next year!" His enthusiasm was plain as day in his eyes, clearly pleased that he'd found someone who shared his passion for the sport. The fact that Lindsey wanted to play the same position was just the cherry on top.
At the mention of summer camp, Calvin nodded. He was planning on attending, mostly in the hopes that continuing to be associated with Hogwarts may help him academically. His parents were worried that a prolonged, summer-long absence might affect his grades and magic ability for the worse, and Cal couldn't help but agree more. He'd made so much progress throughout the year, through grit and determination, to stop now would feel... Foolish, he supposed. The Ravenclaw boy wanted to keep up his momentum. "Yeah, I'm going. I'm excited to see the Quidditch game between Hufflepuff and Durmstrang."
