Eyre wished that his first experience going to Hogwarts would be a happy one. Instead, he found himself increasingly claustrophobic as his parents drug him through a sea of black robes towards the Hogwarts Express. His 5 siblings couldn't come with him today because they had conveniently "caught the flu" all at the same time, a unbelievable but understandable lie. (Firstly, because they didn't want to take the exhausting trip to Kings Cross, but also because they knew how nervous he was. The last thing that he needed was his sisters relentlessly teasing and fawning over him on his big day. He had enough of that in his first 11 years of life. It was time for a much deserved break.)

As they reached the train for boarding and his belongings began to be loaded onto the Express by his father, his heart began to pound and he felt as though he might get ill. It was only until his mother spun him around to face her that he started to feel any sort of resemblance of calm.

She stared at him with proud brown eyes. Her attention was always split, never focusing too much on her youngest son, so moments like this meant a lot to him.

"Aren't you excited, Eyre?" She spoke, smiling at him. Although he wanted to respond, all he could do was advert his gaze. Even though he trusted his mother, he couldn't help but feel as though she could smell his uncertainty on him.

He was correct in his assumption. Her smile soon dissolved, her grip on his shoulders becoming more firm and assuring.

"Son. You're going to be okay, alright? There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Your father and I-"

She was cut off by the sound of the Express' whistle blowing loudly, a sign that it would soon depart the station. Unsure of what to do, she gave her son a tight hug, his father following close behind with a handshake before he was whisked away on the train. It seemed as though the universe didn't want him to have peace of mind, either.

Eyre boarded the train, finding an empty compartment closest to where his parents were as per Reeves family tradition. He put on a big smile and waved at his parents on the platform, watching them slowly disappear as the train pulled away from the station. As soon as they couldn't see him anymore, he sunk back into the red plush seats and let out a sigh. He was on the train, at least. Pretty soon he would be at Hogwarts, and he hoped with all of his heart that things would pan out better than they did at home for him. (It would be horrible if his peers paid him no mind like his parents did 90% of the time.)

He reached into his robe and pulled out his wand, which held a phoenix feather as it's core. Since he had gotten it, he couldn't help ponder why a wand made out of such a rare material could've chosen him, out of all people. It could've just been a fluke, but he had been hoping that it was a good omen for him. Over all things, he wanted to prove that he wasn't an insignificant speck of a person, but someone worthy of attention and praise.

He was so lost in his spiraling thoughts that he didn't notice a figure appearing at the entryway of the door.

Henry pulled his trunk along the hall of the Hogwarts Express next to his only and best friend; Cricket Mercury. Henry knew he should be excited, I mean he was on the Hogwarts Express heading to Hogwarts a place where he has dreamed of going since he first heard of it but something felt different.

Henry didn't know why he felt this way, given he always felt out of place but this time was different. Henry thought back to earlier when his father along with his older brother; Arthur hugged him goodbye before he got on the train and to where he met up with Cricket at the barrier and was so excited to see her that he hug her. Henry thought maybe it was that fact that his twin sister; Annabeth didn't come to see him off. The more Henry thought about it he thought Annabeth was acting strange that morning maybe it was the fact that her twin was going to learn magic while her being a squid can never. Henry then promised to his twin and himself that after the sorting, he'll write to her since besides from Cricket, Annabeth was both his twin and best friend.

Henry then pulled back into reality noticed that they were still walking down the hall of the train. Henry looked over at Cricket and grinned, mostly from happiness because he knew that no matter what happens that day and no matter what houses they were sorted into, he'll still have a friend at Hogwarts.
Henry peered into a compartment with a single boy with dark curly hair and blue eyes, otherwise a empty compartment.
Henry turn his head to Cricket while coming to a stop and said"Hey Cricket, do you want to sit in this compartment?

"Hey Cricket, do you want to sit in this compartment?"

Cricket could feel her heart start to race. She was on the Hogwarts Express, a place she always dreamed of being on. She was very glad to not be alone and with her best friend, Henry. There was someone else in the compartment that she hadn't noticed. A slim boy, with curly dark brown hair and blue eyes, but what really caught Cricket's attention, was his pale white skin, just like hers.

Meanwhile, Henry's question was ringing in her head; "Do you want to sit in this compartment?" Cricket remembers what her father told her before boarding the train. Try to make some friends, okay? You can't go on with life with Henry as your only companion. You're going to be surrounded with kids like you. Cricket slowly turned her head to meet Henry's eyes and nodded. Cricket hoped it would be alright with the mysterious boy. As she made her way inside the compartment, she tripped on what seemed like thin air. She fell, but nothing hurt. Great way to make a first impression, Crick she thought to herself. She dusted herself off and plopped into the red cushioned seat across from the boy.

Henry followed Cricket into the compartment once he saw her nod a yes, Henry also noted silently that she was nervous around the boy with dark brown curly hair and blue eyes. Henry rather rapidly took his seat next to Cricket and across from the boy.

Henry heard Cricket say Hello. My name is Mercury. Cricket, Mercury. Which made Henry think that should he say something to. Henry never been good at making friends and besides from Cricket he never had any friends to speak to, which made Henry think don't mess this up Henry, try to be like Annabeth she never had a problem with making friends but what if I somehow mess it up?

With a thousand thoughts swimming in Henry's head, he took a deep breath and tried to look at the boy while trying to stay calm. Henry turn his head to look outside and thought silently to himself, this boy doesn't know you yet so he won't know your a outsider or anything else, just introduce yourself. You know it can be worse, at least Cricket is by your side.

Henry finally look back at the boy and gave a small, shy kind of smile while saying" Hi, and I'm Henry, uh Henry Knight. Uh, do you mind if we sit with you?

As the silhouette entered the compartment, he noticed that it was a girl with long blonde hair and her friend, a boy that looked a lot like him but much more tall and tanned. She made her way to the seat across from him with a confident air, but suddenly tripped and fell in front of him, making him flinch. Thankfully, she brushed herself off and sat across from him. His sisters had told him that getting on the Express was the most anxious part for first years, so he assumed that she must've been one like him.

"Hello. My name is Mercury. Cricket, Mercury." She said to him matter of factly. He could tell from her accent that she must've been from Scotland. He was born and raised in the Midlands, and subsequently had never been to Scotland before, but he knew that going to Hogwarts was going to open him up to students of all different backgrounds.

Her friend sat down next to her, and behind his blue eyes he could tell that he was thinking about what he was going to say. He smiled nervously at him, which gave him an odd comfort. If everyone else was in the same boat as him, he felt more comfortable with speaking.

"Hi, and I'm Henry, uh Henry Knight. Uh, do you mind if we sit with you?" The other boy spoke. Eyre responded with a nod, a smile crinkling on the corners of his lips as well.

"Of course... My name is Eyre, Eyre Reeves. It's a pleasure to meet you both" He said, crossing his arms for comfort as he looked at the pair. "Are you both first years as well?.. I mean, I assume that you are. I've never been on the Express before, so I don't really know how to tell between first years and second years. But I know that because you're both as nervous as I am, you're probably first years at well. Funny, isn't it, how that is?"

The words fell out of his mouth in a rapid heap of vocabulary. Eyre wasn't one to not enjoy company or talking to others, but years of neglect from his parents had proved that when he had the opportunity to talk, it usually came out in a torrent at first. He noticed this, and held his breath, letting out a sigh before he allowed himself to speak again.

"M' sorry... I'm very nervous. Usually when I'm nervous, I can't actually stop talking." He explained, nervously laughing at his own folly. He hoped that his new compartment mates wouldn't be ones to judge. "...So... Cricket and Henry, huh? Are you two cousins? Or just friends?"

Henry couldn't help but smile a bit, Eyre Reeves seemed just as nervous and a bit awkward like him. This relax Henry who folded his arms in his lap in a relaxed sort of way and let out a little smile, Henry thought he might actually have a few more friends now. Even feeling a bit more relaxed he still couldn't make up the courage to answer Eyre, so he looked at Cricket to see if she will speak up but she seemed to be nervous as well. Henry could have guessed why but knew better than to ask so he closed his eyes and reopened them quickly while taking a deep breath because he knew that he will need to answer Eyre.

What extractly should I say? Should I ask a question or just say one word answers? Ugh, this is stressful how do I know I'm not going to mess up my chance of having another friend....Just relax Henry if Crick can have the courage to talk to others then so can you. While you would like to have Crick has your only companion, you know you can't and Eyre might be a great friend for you so just try to be brave for once in your life. As a million thoughts floated in Henry's head, he tapped his knee anxiously and continue to take calming breaths.

Henry finally found the courage to answer, as he took a final deep breath and said"Cricket and I are just friends, uh best friends even through sometimes I consider her like a sister and yes were both also first years. Henry actually did it, he took a deep breath in relief as his mouth crinkled into more of a kind and joyful smile this time instead of a shy one. While Henry was happy he said something, he still thought he should say more but did he have the courage for that.

Henry looked at the boy and took a deep breath, thinking Eyre already said he was nervous so he understands what I'm going through. Henry looked up at Eyre and naturally smiled a small but joyful smile while he said" I'm also nervous which is why I'm not talking much, so I can see where your coming from. Uh I never had a conversation with anyone else besides from Crick and my family so I don't think I really know how to it. So...uh do you have any siblings? Henry instantly regretted speaking and wished he had a tinetuner to take back the last few minutes of that.

What was I thinking? Why would I say all that and why would I ask about siblings? Ugh your such a idiot Henry. Hopefully Eyre isn't quick to judge.

"...So... Cricket and Henry, huh? Are you two cousins? Or just friends?"

Cricket didn't know what to say. She could tell that Eyre was just as nervous as her and Henry. Cricket was about to say something but as soon as she started to open her moth, she immediately closed it. What if he thinks I'm different than others? I bet he has loads of friends where he lives...I don't want to mess this up. What should I say? I bet I'm twice as nervous as both of them combined! Should I say something? Maybe Henry will say something?

Cricket turned to look at Henry who was taking deep breaths and closing his eyes. Just breathe. Cricket took a short breath and opened her mouth to say something but Henry beat her to it. "Cricket and I are just friends, uh best friends even through sometimes I consider her like a sister and yes we're both also first years." He did it, she thought as a slight smile formed at the corner of her lips. Henry turned towards her and Cricket flinched. Knowing that she had to make a motion to prove she wasn't paralyzed, she started nodding her head quite rapidly. Nice going Crick, now you look like an idiot. Cricket pulled her legs up to her chest and wrapped her thin arms around them. She looked out the window and saw her parents talking to Henry's father.

"I'm also nervous which is why I'm not talking much, so I can see where you're coming from. Uh I never had a conversation with anyone else besides from Crick and my family so I don't think I really know how to it. So...uh do you have any siblings?"

It took a while for Henry to respond to him, so he watched him patiently as his new acquaintance tapped his knee and tried to calm his breathing. Eyre hoped that he wasn't being too intimidating, he knew that he had a bit of what his older sisters would call a 'resting bored face', so he was not surprised if his very presence was making him a little nervous.

"Cricket and I are just friends, uh best friends even through sometimes I consider her like a sister and yes were both also first years." Henry said to him, his mouth crinkling into a nervous smile. "I'm also nervous which is why I'm not talking much, so I can see where your coming from. Uh I never had a conversation with anyone else besides from Crick and my family so I don't think I really know how to it. So...uh do you have any siblings?" He sputtered out.

Eyre couldn't help but let out a laugh at his question. It wasn't out of second-hand embarrassment, but being asked if he had siblings always caught him off guard.

"I-I'm sorry... I'm not used to being asked that. I wasn't trying to laugh at you, it's just..." He shook his head at the thought, letting out a sigh. "...Yes. I have 5 older sisters. They're all pretty okay in my eyes, but everyone likes to parade them around as if they defeated the Dark Lord himself. And some of them are especially annoying about it..." He explained, his eyes flickering over to look at Cricket who was sitting and looking out the window at the moving scenery.

Undoubtedly, his parents were probably still at the platform talking to another set of parents who 'absolutely adored' his sisters. It wasn't an uncommon phenomena when they were around a bunch of wizards to have someone come up to them and shower his sisters with praise, and the thought of it made Eyre's blood boil.
OOC: Just a reminder, the train has pulled away from the station at this point and they're on the way to Hogwarts.

Henry still regretted saying anything and wished he had a timetuner to take back the last few minutes. Henry looked out the window at the scenery beyond the train while multiple thoughts filled his head on how he shouldn't have said anything. Eyre suddenly started to laugh a bit, great I didn't even make it to Hogwarts yet and I already proven that I'm a outsider. So much for making friends at Hogwarts. Henry's mind fill with more overwhelming thoughts that he started to rub his hands on his knees rather quickly. "I-I'm sorry... I'm not used to being asked that. I wasn't trying to laugh at you, it's just..." Eyre spoke. He wasn't laughing at me, maybe I haven't lost my chance of having another friend just yet. Ok Henry from now on don't try to be weird and for once in your life just play it cool. Henry looked at him with understanding eyes and tried to grin calmly but also kindly at Eyre while Eyre seemed to shake his head while letting out a sigh after he spoke,"...Yes. I have 5 older sisters. They're all pretty okay in my eyes, but everyone likes to parade them around as if they defeated the Dark Lord himself. And some of them are especially annoying about it..." Henry looked at him with curiosity and wonder in his eyes while he knew he probably asked him something he didn't like to talk about he also had other thoughts zooming around in his head.

That's actually sad and he seemed like he doesn't like to talk about, oh Henry you idiot why would you blunt that out to begin with but maybe you can fix your mistake. No don't, you'll probably just mess it up more but how would I know if I don't try. Which I shouldn't because if I do then I probably will mess it up more and lose my chance at having another friend.

Henry looked up at Eyre with sympathetic eyes and smiled a small but also a kind smile to him now taking a deep breath before saying"That must be intolerable for you but...uh at least others don't call them the choosen sisters or the girl's who defeated the dark lord." Henry then bit his lip and regretted what he said, why can't you be normal and not make a fool of yourself. Your trying to be his friend not show him your a weirdo. Henry's mind filled with a million thoughts as be looked down at the red, velvety cushions of the Hogwarts Express.

After a few minutes Henry looked back up at Eyre while tracing the red, velvety fabric on cushions to ease his nervous while he spoke"I'm sorry if I'm acting weird, I never really talked this much...I'm just nervous if you can't already tell. Henry gave him a kind but also guilty type of smile he then looked down, allowing his hair to fall over his eyes to hide where he was looking while he quickly looked over at Cricket then the window at the scenery.

Cricket looked out the window and felt a low rumble. In the blink of an eye, the train took off and she was on her way to Hogwarts. As the scenery passed by, she noticed she hasn't really been listening to what the boys were saying. She heard Eyre laugh a little bit and hoped that Henry didn't say anything to embarrass himself.

"I-I'm sorry... I'm not used to being asked that. I wasn't trying to laugh at you, it's just...yes. I have 5 older sisters. They're all pretty okay in my eyes, but everyone likes to parade them around as if they defeated the Dark Lord himself. And some of them are especially annoying about it..."

"That must be intolerable for you but...uh at least others don't call them the chosen sisters or the girl's who defeated the dark lord. I'm sorry if I'm acting weird, I never really talked this much...I'm just nervous if you can't already tell."

Cricket could tell Henry was shaking lightly. He must really be nervous, she thought, he shouldn't be the one to have all the nerves. Cricket put one of her legs down so her foot touched the train's floor and kept her arms wrapped tightly around the other. She looked at the floor and started to speak, "At least you're saying something. I'm to nervous to even look at you guys." As soon as she realized what she said, her head bolted upwards and she felt like her eyes were about to come out of her sockets. "I-I'm sorry I didn't realize what I was saying. I don't usually have any interactions with people. You see, I'm homeschooled so the only people I see are my mum and dad and Henry but we don't live near each other and I don't have any siblings so I don't really know what it's like to talk to people my age." Cricket clasped her hands over her mouth as the two boys stared at her with wide eyes. She leaned back and mumbled "Bloody hell" as she tucked her legs close to her chest and hid her face in her arms.
