Lost at Home Open Closed

Tyliana Pierce stared at her house's table with something akin to dismay. Already, people were spread out into their little groups, discussing the end of term and the beginning of their summers. If she weren't in Slytherin, she might have considered going to a different table, maybe make some friends among the Lions or the Badgers, but, alas, she wore green.

Ever since the war, she'd heard stories about how most of the "bad guys" all came from her house. Being raised in America, she knew just how hard some prejudices were to let go of. After all, there were still people in America that thought that a skin color was enough to kill over. But here, there were still families she knew were recovering from the loss, even if none of them were in school now. So she was scared. Scared of trying to make friends, and scared of being treated like she wouldn't amount to anything more than, say, being burnt alive in the RoR. So, instead, Tyliana stood, hovering just near the doors to the Great Hall, hugging one of her school books to her chest. Maybe, just maybe, someone would come say hi to her, instead.
