Sunday, 6 o’clock.
Lindsey jumped up from her comfortable sofa in the Hufflepuff common room.
“Dear——I’ll be late!” She threw her quill away and quickly made her textbooks go back to her dorm.
“Ok, I’m going——” she murmured, and then turned around. “I’ll be back at…before curfew anyway!” Lynn yelled to her dorm mate.
Is she listening? Lynn didn’t know. Anyway, she rushed out of the common room and disappeared at the first floor.
Some students looked weirdly at her. Lynn knew that she must be…pretty frantic.
She was running through the small hall, rushed into the great hall, then stormed upstairs. All of the portraits looked at her using eyes for mad people. Lynn even heard that one well-dressed lady said loudly. “What a mad girl! A lady is never——” Lynn only heard the first part.
“Never speak with such a loud voice!” Lynn yelled back. Some portraits laughed. She was pretty sure that the lady must have turn red after hearing her remark and the laughter.
Oh finally. Second floor had turned out in Lindsey’s eyes. She searched for Lizzie, but she seemed…not there.
Lynn was pretty sure that Lizzie had came here. She looked at her watch.
10 minutes past 6 o’clock.
Where’s Lizzie? Where?
She thought a while, and then took a step forward in the darkness. She couldn’t see anything, and suddenly tripped on something.
Lynn fell.
No.
Lindsey felt that she’s not going down.
She’s…going upwards?

To Lizzie: I’ve finally made up the thread! To make it more fun, I allow another person to join. And, since Lynn’s disappearing, Lizzie could either be disappeared to somewhere too or just coming late. Your choice!

To the newcomer: This is backdated to early September, that is, the first Sunday of term 2019~2020. Make sure it fits your timeline!

Lizzie was pretty sure the chair was going to swallow her. The chairs in the Gryffindor common room were some of the squishiest, most comfy chairs she'd ever sat in. She'd been sitting in one that was now "hers" since lunch, and considering how low she'd sunk into it, there was no hope for her to get out of it. It had all but swallowed her whole, but it was so comfortable that she couldn't care less if it did.

Her leg was starting to fall asleep, so she shifted around a little bit. Out of the corner of her eye, she glimpsed the time on her watch. 6:05? Alarm shot through her, and she pulled her watch closer to her. It really was 6:05. Oh no! She was late! She'd promised Lynn that she'd meet her in the corridors at 6!

Panicking, the redhead found the strength to tumble out of the super comfy chair. It sounded like half of her joints cracked as she stood up, and her legs felt like jelly from how long she'd been sitting on them. She stumbled out of the common room, her body still adjusting to standing and not lounging. She felt so bad for being late. Hopefully, Lynn would understand though. From what Lizzie had heard, the chairs in the Hufflepuff common room were the comfiest out of all of the common rooms.

---

Finally! She made it to the corridors! But... where was Lynn? It was... She checked her watch. 6:13. Lynn didn't seem like the type to be late. So where was she? The corridor was almost empty, with a couple of students milling around, probably on their way to hang out with friends. None of them were the Hufflepuff she was looking for, though.

"Lynn?" she called softly, looking around. "Lynn? Lindsey?" Where was she?! Lizzie brushed an unruly red curl out of her face, and started to raise her voice a little. "Lindsey? Hello?! Where are you?!"

Lindsey stood up, and took a good look of her surroundings. She seemed at a tower. The Astronomy Tower? She wondered, and took a step forward.
Nope.
This wasn’t the place she had came to some days ago when having Astronomy class. She had a very clear memory of what the classroom and the surroundings looked like——and it was definitely not like this place.
Wait.
This place seemed like the road towards the Owlery. Lynn ventured further, and saw the staircase that could took people up to where the owls lived.
Nice.
She smiled, and turned back. She now could see very clear in the darkness, and saw a small passage door at the end of the corridors.
Yes.
That must be where she had came from. So, she could go back through that interesting secret passage or went down using the grand stairs.
Maybe.
Lynn decided to try for the secret passageway again.
Dear.
She soon found her mistake as soon as she went back. The passageway was simply a long slide that——took you up inside of going down.
Surprising.
Lynn found herself sitting with hundreds of owls after stepped in the passage.
Suddenly.
“Lindsey? Hello?! Where are you?!” the voice of Lizzie came from the depth of the…passageway.
OK.
Lynn had a clue now. That was, she could go back from the door of the Owlery and easily went back and saw Lizzie.
Ah?!
The door of the Owlery was locked from outside.
Lindsey F. Springhall was trapped in the Owlery, with owls that could not take her up, and a passageway that could not take her down.

It had been quite a while since Lucille had gone to the owlery, maybe about two months? It didn't really matter anyway, what mattered was that she was now stuck in the owlery since in true Lucille fashion she had forgotten where she was going in the first place. Without realizing it, the door to where all of the school owls rested locked so that only those from the outside could actually open it. "Uhm..is anyone in here?"Lucille asked with a small shiver as a cold breeze came though. Thankfully the young Ravenclaw saw a familiar Hufflepuff student out of the corner of her eye and couldn't help but breath a sigh of relief."Oh hi Holly!"Lucille said with a smile as she regarded the founder of the Les Amis de l'ABC club. "Uh- do you remember me?"Lucille asked the girl hopefully."In the Cafe Musain you can call me Will."She added awkwardly, trying to think of something interesting to say. While thinking about conversation starters Lucille heard a girl calling for Holly- or you'know Lindsey."What was that?"Lucille asked the Hufflepuff aloud."Are they uh friend of yours or somethin'?"She continued. As she heard Lindsey's reply, the Ravenclaw noticed a small owl pecking at her favorite pair of vans shoes she had decided to wear that day."Oh..how cute."Lucille said gently to little owl.

"Lindsey?" Lizzie called again, her previous attempts at locating her friend having received no response. She could hear a hint of panic creeping into her voice as her brain made a list of the 101 things that could've happened to the Hufflepuff. She could've been kidnapped, she'd fallen down some stairs and was now in the hospital wing paralyzed... the list went on and on with increasingly horrible and unlikely things.

Somehow in the midst of her worry, she'd begun pacing up and down the corridor, finding the action somewhat soothing. Changing directions, she started pacing the width of the corridor when suddenly the world went black. For a second, she was weightless, then she was falling... upwards? She certainly wasn't falling the normal way. It was like gravity had disappeared for a moment. There was nothing keeping her feet on the ground, so they weren't.

More panic surged through her. What if she never hit the ceiling? Would she just be floating there forever? She didn't even know for a fact that she was indeed floating upwards since it was so dark, and she could only feel that the air was moving around her and assumed that meant she was moving with it.

Eventually, the world brightened and she found herself in a new room. Upon further inspection, there were two others in the room. Lynn, and a girl she didn't recognize. "Lynn!" she exclaimed, happy that nothing bad had happened to her friend. She looked around the room again. It didn't look familiar. "Where are we?"

“Oh hi Holly!” A girl greeted her.
Lindsey first had a little shock, for she didn’t notice that some other people were there.
“Um…? Hello Will!” She soon recognized the girl as Lucille Williams, an interesting Ravenclaw at the club.
She tried to explain her, or their situation to Lucille, but the eagle asked before she could say anything. “Are they uh friend of yours or somethin'?“
“Yeah…if you mean the one calling me.” Lindsey pointed the secret passageway. “A very good friend of mine. We were supposed to meet tonight but I somehow got trapped in this owlery.” She said rather with unhappiness.
“Hey Lucille——and you could just call me Lindsey if you like——how did you come into the owlery?” Lindsey suddenly remembered something. If Lucille entered from the door, then there must be a way to get out.
As she was strategizing, someone turned up. “Lynn! Where are we?” the newcomer called out.
“Lizzie?!” Lynn said surprisingly. “Do you…come from the secret passageway on the second floor too?”
“And, this is Lucille, Ravenclaw. Lucille, my friend Lizzie, Gryffindor.” She introduced the two too each other.
“Hmm, so I guess we have to figure a way out——anyone has an idea?”

The secret passageway on the second floor? Lizzie gave her Hufflepuff friend a weird look. "What secret passageway? I was pacing around, looking for you... and then I was falling, but up," she explained, looking around the room once more before starting to pace again. Only to stop pacing as her friend introduced the other girl in the room.

"Hi!" the redhead greeted her, smiling. "Did you get here through the supposed secret passageway also?" She noticed there was a little owl at Lucille's feet, and if she was an anime character, her eyes would've turned into hearts. "Aww~" she gushed, staring at the smol creature. Owls were adorable. Cats were superior to them, but owls were still cute.

Wait- If there's owls, then they must be in the owlry. That was a strange place to be. Why would there be a secret passageway on the second floor that went all the way up to the owlry? A lazy wizard? To be fair, it was a bit of a workout to get from the second floor to the owlry, but that seemed like the epitome of laziness. A good way to confuse innocent first years, also.

She nodded, agreeing with Lynn's statement that they should find a way out. "We could try to go back down the secret passageway," she suggested, as it didn't seem like anyone had any ideas. "Or in the worst-case scenario we could owl my brother or someone and ask that they come and let us out?"

“We could try to go back down the secret passageway,” Lizzie suggested.
“Nope. I think that passageway could only take you up instead of down.” Lindsey said anxiously.
What if they’d stuck here? With the locked door and that useless passage?
“Or in the worst-case scenario we could owl my brother or someone and ask that they come and let us out?” Lizzie offered again.
“Hey I like the idea!” Lindsey’s eyes sparkled. “You write to your brother, then I write to mine. That would be much easier for them to find us.” She grinned. “At least one of them would got the message right?”
Lindsey grabbed a pen from her pocket. She simply went everywhere with a pen and some paper——“get prepared”, as she said. It’s finally useful this time, and the girl’s really pleased with it.
She began writing.
Ed,
Come to the Owlery at once. Open the door from outside. If you do not have a key, then use spells. Or your sister and her two friends would be stuck in there forever.
Best wishes,
Lynn
The young badger carefully folded it, and waved to an owl. They were quite cute, but none of them seemed as great as Jadis——Ed’s owl. Although Jad’s now used as family owl more often, she stilled belonged to Edmund.
“Take this note to Edmund Springhall, third year Gryffindor okay?” She said kindly to that cute owl.
It squeaked.
“Need any paper?” she turned to Lizzie.
“And, maybe you’d like to send a note to someone you know too?” she asked Lucille.

Lizzie's eyes widened in surprise as Lynn pulled a pen and paper out of her pocket. It amazed her that the Hufflepuff was so prepared. Even as an artist, Lizzie never had what she needed on her. She was always searching around for her one favorite sketching pencil, or even some paper to draw on. Though she doubted her comment was wanted, or necessary, she had to comment on her friend's preparedness.

"Wow," she started. "You just have a pen and paper in your pockets? That's awesome."

She watched silently as Lynn quickly wrote a note to her brother, and sent it off with an owl. Under normal circumstances, the redhead would have never let the silence stay, instead babbling about something that had happened that day, but that time, she was too busy trying to remember if her brother had an owl or not. She could've sworn he did, but she couldn't remember its name for the life of her...

"Need any paper?"

Lizzie jumped in surprise, having been too lost in her thoughts to be paying attention to the real world. "Oh, yes please!" she exclaimed, Lynn's words taking a second longer to process in her brain.

She took the paper offered to her, and scribbled out a quick note.
yo, sean
i'm sorta stuck in the owlry, so if you could come up and unlock that door, that would be great.

lizzie
Now, what was his owl's name? It was something sorta strange if she could remember correctly. Maud? No. Mood? It couldn't be. Moth? No, that wasn't it. It didn't seem like she was even on the right track. Luckily, just as she was about to give up, a slightly scrawny owl flew down from the rafters and landed next to her foot.

"Ah, you must be Sean's owl..." Lizzie muttered to herself, handing the paper to it. "Bring this to Sean, please," she requested, giving the owl a smile, and it was off.

---

Not too long later, the dull thumping sound of someone running up the stairs filled the small room. Lizzie gasped. "Someone's actually coming to unlock the room!" she exclaimed, jumping to her feet. Somewhere in the waiting process, she'd sat down against one of the walls.

A hurried Alohomora could be heard on the other side of the door, and the door swung open. "Thank you, thank you!" Lizzie hurriedly said to their rescuer before launching herself out of the room. She never thought she was claustrophobic, but after spending so much time in the small owlry, she really wanted to get out.

She felt bad for not waiting for Lynn and Lucille, and that her and Lynn's castle exploration didn't quite go as planned. Maybe she'd send an owl to them, or maybe just Lynn, since she wasn't sure whether Lucille would want to go exploring with them, to see if they wanted to try again and hopefully not get stuck in the owlry.
