The Broom Chooses the Wizard...
June 30th, 13:30 p.m
May was doing some shopping through Diagonal Alley, with her grandmother, Paloma Moonstar, and they had just finished shopping at Magical Menagerie, since May was growing, and needed new robes. "Oh, Granny. Next, we will need to go to Weasleys Wizard Wheezes, and of course, Flourish and Blotts. You know how much I love books." the 11 year old May told her grandmother, exited, trembling with happiness through the streets of Diagon Alley, looking through shop through shop and listening to the noise of that street. Obviously, May sensed magic in the air, as well as suffocation. She had been walking for hours, and May couldn't just think how her grandmother was feeling now, carrying a basket full of cauldrons, glass files, and much more supplies May needed for her second year at Hogwarts.
The summer was approaching, and of course, the Summer Camp and Quiddich Match that everyone talked about too. But May's grandmother always wanted to buy the school supplies before it was even the summer break, and that was a bad (for May) habit of hers. Always wanting to be the first, the old woman elevated her cane to 'shake' the people of the street away. "Get outta my way! Let a ninety year old get through this old street! Oh gosh Mary, don't your lot know any matters?" May's grandmother said, still waving her cane through the air. May rolled her eyes and runned ahead, to look at her favorite shop.
There it was. Quality Quiddich Supplies. The place where all the magic was, where May's favorite sport brooms could be bought. May pressed her nose to the window to look at the Firebolt, the dream broom, as May called it. Feeling so close to the broom made her want to grab it, and kiss it, and hug it....but May couldn't do that. The only way she could take that broom was in- her - dreams. And it wasn't going to happen in real life. With a sight, May stopped looking at the Firebolt, looked around her, and saw a familiar face...could it be..."Annie?"

The Broom Chooses the Wizard...
Diagon Alley, the go to place for magical items and shopping. The cobblestone path winded it's way up, down and around different shops. All were lit up and had a different look to them, some more rustic or vibrant than others. The small 12 year old let out a sigh. This place had seemed so magical on her first visit which was to pick up her items needed for her first year at Hogwarts. Now going on her third year, she was used to it, but it didn't make it any less exciting shopping for new books and what not.
Two things were on her list, a book for Care of Magical Creatures and a decent broom. Annie didn't know what she was more excited for. She had been obsessed with magical creatures since she knew the magical world existed and this year was the first year they offered the class at Hogwarts. What if I end up doing poorly in that class? The brunette shook her head and continued own the street, seeing wizards and witches alike moving to and fro. Her mother wasn't able to come help her with shopping but she had provided the galleons she needed to buy everything, even a broom after much convincing which wasn't easy because Ms. Morgan was a very logical Ravenclaw when she attended Hogwarts.
Annie sighed and glanced around at the many shops before hearing her name be called. She spun around and was greeted by a familiar face. "Oh hey May!" The Hufflepuff stopped in her tracks and made her way over to the fellow student, seeing an older lady by her side assuming it was her grandmother. "How've you been? Are you going to stay at Hogwarts for some of the summer?" Annie started questioning the girl because she hadn't seen her in awhile. The end of each school year had always been crazy, at least she wasn't old enough to take N.E.W.T.S yet. The brunette almost shuddered at the thought. Classes were hard enough as they were already.

The Broom Chooses the Wizard...
May went to greet her friend, forgetting everything about Quiddich and brooms. "Well of course I'm going to summer camp silly. I wonder how it's going to be. I never missed Muggle summer camp before, but I just know this one will be different! There's also the Drumstrang match...I'm really exited!" she blurted out, for the fist time in weeks she could express her real feelings about summer camp to someone. And that someone was the one and only Annie Morgan.
"Congrats! You're a prefect!" May said to her friend. She wanted to tell her that before, at Hogwarts, but the new prefect was so occupied with prefect duty, that they didn't see each other so often. May had to admit, that at first she was a bit jealous, like anyone would be, but then, she just thought that she had one detention at Hogwarts, and maybe someday, she would become one. But not now.
"So, are you exited? The Quiddich match's coming! I can't stop thinking about it! Mostly because we're going to compete against great Quiddich players. Drumstrang!" yes, May had thought about it. A lot. Lots of people had told her that Drumstrang were great Quiddich players, and the Hufflepuff was somehow scared. But she was glad to be the second string seeker, for she wouldn't be playing much. But if Serena fell, May would need to play...

The Broom Chooses the Wizard...
The brunette nodded her head as she listened to the excited, almost second year's response to her question. She felt a little stupid for asking if she was going to summer camp, since most students did but she didn't know so she figured she would ask. "Hm I never went to a muggle summer camp, but I can see that they would be fun, but I mean summer camp at Hogwarts is so much better." A small grin appeared on the girl's face at the thought of the exciting events that would soon unfold. She smiled even wider when she mentioned the Durmstrang match.
"Yeah that's why I'm here, I think I'm going to buy a Bluebottle, I finally convinced my mom to let me buy a broom since I saved up for one. It's not the best but anything to get an edge up on Durmstrang." Annie nodded her head and glanced back into the shop's windows in wonder. She was curious about how good their team was but hopefully the broom would help a little bit with their match. Even if they lost they wouldn't go down without a fight, and they already had a pretty good season so she wouldn't be too upset, bummed yeah but not angry.
The Hufflepuff blinked as May congratulated her on her Prefect status. "Ah yeah thanks, hey maybe next year you'll get your shot at it, I think you are pretty responsible for your age and you are super nice for how long I've known you." The Prefect laughed lightly as she complimented the younger girl. Man the girl asked a lot of questions. She had to shake her head before answering another question thrown at her. "Sure I'm excited, but you never know how they will play. Slytherins you can assume they'll play dirty, Ravenclaw is smart with their actions and Gryffindor is just a really focused, all together team, but Durmstrang, we don't know what they'll be like, it'll be interesting to say the least."
Annie hummed at the thought before turning her head back to May. She had spaced off staring at the broom selections. "Nothing new for me, hopefully I can make a goal this time, I'm kinda a sore loser especially when I don't contribute anything to the team besides saving anybody. What about you though? Serena is great and all but would you get nervous if you'd have the chance to play? The brunette beckoned May to follow her into the shop as she began to pull out her savings from her satchel resting on her hip.

The Broom Chooses the Wizard...
@Annie Morgan"Welp, Muggle summer camp isn't as fun as Hogwarts summer camp, obviously. I'm much more exited for the Hogwarts one" she giggled under her breath, "With all of this corona thing, summer camp is closed in the Muggle world." that was one of the reasons she was glad to be in Hogwarts. She needn't be worried about catching that corona virus thing anyways.
"You're lucky. I wish I could buy a broom. First years can't anyways. When I'm in second year, I'll buy my own broom. And then, when I become the greatest seeker in the world, I'll buy a Fireblot..." she smiled at her own imagination.
May went red when Annie told her that she was very responsible. May had gotten a detention from Pericles Dralt once, and she had thought that she would never do it. But a bit extra responsible, and May would get to be a prefect one day. "Yeah, we've never played against Drumstrang. I hope it's easy tho, so we can kick them to Norway!" May giggled and blinked a few times. Man she was glad to have seen Annie in Diagon Alley. She spotted her grandmother in Flourish and Blotts, and decided she would stay further through in Quality Quiddich supplies.
"W-well, I can get nervous...Serena is a great seeker. I bet she's going to spot the snitch in two seconds, but me? Oh Annie, I've never played before. And maybe my first official play will be against Drumstrang, and who knows how I will do? I've never told anyone about this Annie, but I don't know if I can play as good as her-" she entered the shop with her friend. She looked around and spotted the blue bottle, there, waiting to be bought by Annie.
