Gryffindor Slumber Party
It's that time of year! We are now well into our last month of classes and end of year is fast approaching. There's a camp around the corner, fun activities in London to be had, and a Quidditch game to watch. But that's not to say that we can't have a bit of a celebration of our very own in our Common Room just prior to all the fun shenanigans. Something that I have been stewing on for some time is a Gryffindor Slumber Party. Something that takes place on the last night prior to boarding that train and heading home for the summer taking hold of that portkey and setting ourselves up for camp. Especially for those students (such as Evelynn) who won't be attending the London fun.for Gryffindor students
So here is my proposition:
What: a fun social gathering to celebrate completion of exams and end of term!
When: On the evening of June 30th (IC date — oocly would be posted sooner)
Who: All Gryffindor students — all years welcome
Where: Gryffindor Common Room
Why: Why not?
Presently, I have 6 games in mind as listed above in the poll and outlined below. To promote organisation and to more easily participate in several aspects of the party while minimising timeline issues, these would each take place in their own thread, chronologically one after another, while the primary thread remained open for general socialization and eatin'.
The games as they are now:
- Spin the Bottle — players sit in a circle and take turns spinning a bottle at the center. They have 5 seconds to hug the person it points to, otherwise they must kiss instead. Failure to do so puts you out of the game. This continues for x rounds. No real winner.
- Truth or Dare — once again sitting in a circle, players take turns spinning a bottle to determine their victim. Whoever it's pointing at chooses "truth" or "dare". The one who spun the bottle will then either ask them a question to answer truthfully, or give them a dare. Failure to do so puts you out of the game. This continues for x rounds. No real winner.
- Never Have I Ever — Everyone starts with ten fingers up. Players take turns asking other players about things they haven’t done. Other players who have done this things have to drop a finger. Continues until there's only one person left with fingers up.
- Common Room Treasure Hunt — items hidden about the common room, some mundane, some exciting. All wrapped. Rounds of hunting involve Wisdom DC rolls which correlate to different tiers of rarity/worth of items.
- Crazy Chairs — similar to musical chairs but with conditional movement such as "for anyone who had a birthday in the last 3 months, move two chairs to your right". Potential for shenanigans as people end up piling on top of each other on a single chair. Will continue for x rounds, at which point, students reach under their chairs for a slip of parchment that indicates whether they're the winner or not. Prizes to be had for those who are.
- Wacky Wardrobe — everyone takes turns reaching into a bag of unknown fashion horrors and puts on whatever they pull out (In light of pride months, could also be a great way to innocently explore cross-dressing if one wishes). Continues for x rounds. No winner. Just fun and memories.
What I would ask of you:
- Please indicate which of the games you would participate in (you may select none, all of them, or anything in between (those without enough interest will be clipped)
- If there is something you would like to see that isn't there, add it in a comment, and I will add it to the list
- Please let me know what you think and if you have any comments/suggestions!
I will keep this open for one week, but if there's enough interest early enough, I'll get things started sooner than later
