Rose was really excited to start her second year at Hogwarts. She had her gold in a bag so she could buy her supplies. She had reviewed all the spells she had learned last year (not with her wand, of course. She just used a spatula.). And here she was, in Flourish and Blotts Book Shop, ready. Rose was alone- her siblings were too lazy to do it today, they just wanted to have a rest. So Rose asked her mom to drop her off at Diagon Alley with some money. Here she was, browsing through the books in a magical bookstore alone. A lot of people did last-minute school shopping, but Rose was not one of those people. She liked to get it done as soon as possible.
Then, Rose spied a girl about her age looking lost. She had long dark brown hair and freckles.
Freckles? Well, they had at least one thing in common.
'Why not?' she thought. Rose walked over to the girl and tapped her shoulder lightly. She cleared her throat and gathered her courage.
"Hey, there. Are you okay? You look a little bit lost," she said in her soft, American-accented voice, concern brimming in her emerald eyes and voice.
