═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═time: 4pm on a Saturday
set after the Ravenclaw murder thread
Lizzie was trying to be sneaky. She had seen some suspicious Students lurking around the corridors looking a bit sweaty so she had decided to follow them. She was technically spying on the older years who had leaded the Ravenclaw over the whole castle. It wasn’t against the law to be a bit curious. She could have been classed as stalking the 5th years, except, she wasn’t doing it very well.
In the blonde girls head, there were many scenarios of her catching them doing something wrong. One was her jumping out from behind a stone statue to see them dealing who knows what. Another being her walking around the corner pretending to be a bystander and she sees them literally murdering another first year.
She had always had a wild imagination. It was what helped her while she wrote songs. Her mind would never usually wander off to bad thoughts. Only when she was in mortal danger or she was in need of an adventure. It was probably the latter in this case but who knew. Lizzie could have been walking right into a death trap. Something like another Mosp or doll around the corner.
The charming girl had really gone of looking at Wasps and dolls. They made her sad, agitated and annoyed at how they ruined the school’s ball and the Ravenclaws adventure into the forbidden forest. She had always wondered why they did go into the forest in the first place.
Suddenly, she fell to the ground. It had made a loud thud. She grumbled and stood up quickly looking at the thing that knocked her down. She trailed her eyes over another student who seemed a bit startled. She looked around and saw some people were eying the couple up. She grabbed the boys hand and pulled him behind a statue nearby.
“Quickly, hide.” She said studying the boys facial features. They were very familiar, “I’m trying to find out if the 5th years around the corner are trying to over throw the world.” She waited for his response but nothing came. She laughed and shook her head. “Not really, I’m trying to catch some people in the act of bad. Then I can feel like I accomplished something today.”
That really was the only reason Lizzie had that was pretty valid. She hadn’t done anything productive over the last few days and she wanted to change that. Maybe after the whole catching people would make her have some good ideas for her songs.
She heard some rustling and saw the older students moving around the corner. She started running towards the corner forgetting she was still holding onto the boy’s hand. She shyly looked back at the boy who had been dragged about twenty feet. “Oh, sorry.” She said, “Hey, aren’t you that guy that I met in the forest?”
She had just recognized his face. It was the boy he had bumped into in the Forbidden Forest. It was obviously a thing of theirs to meet each other while hopping they don’t fall to the floor. She quickly looked around the corner and saw the students had gone. She had lost them.
She was lost herself. The students had taken her everywhere from the Great Lake to the Owlery. It was not doing Lizzie and joy. She was now lost with someone she barely knew. “Drat, we lost them.” She hopefully looked up to Sylvain, “Do you have any idea where we are?”═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═

Sylvain left down the corridor in a bit of a hurry. He’d needed to use the restroom for all of study hall, but wanted to stay focused while he had the opportunity to work. The peevish scholar was now suffering quietly. He was attempting to find the nearest bathroom, even if it was abandoned.
Turning on his heels as he upped his pace, Sylvain hoped to avoid a motley crew of Slytherin boys. Sylvain then quickly paced his way down the hall. He knew the directions to the nearest lavatory was left, right twice, another two doors going straight, and two flights of stairs up. Alternatively, the abandoned restroom was an option if he felt like this was an emergency. He was beginning to seriously contemplate it but thought he might have time to still do the right thing.
Syl audibly hummed as he briskly walked the corridor, hoping to warn potentially oncoming students of his increased velocity and oncoming force, but as he rounded a corner too swiftly he failed to see the oncoming traffic until too late. The person he collided with was none other than the charming Ravenclaw girl who’d bumped into him in the forbidden forest once before, Lizzie.
He wasn’t sure what he had already processed about what happened in the forbidden forest. The thoughts and feelings still hadn’t caught up to him, but he clutched his knee in reminder of when her head conked his knee. He’d not thought of it since, and could hardly blame her for being snatched up by a vine.
As the two forces met in the corridor intersection, Sylvain tripped on the edge of his robe while Lizzie came to a sudden stop. Sylvain was attempting to prevent disaster. Instead, he found himself tripping into the girl with all of his weight which knocked the two into a tumble forwards. He didn’t weigh very much, but she wasn’t very large either.
He was startled when she told him to hide, and again when she grabbed his hand in hers. The squeeze she gave was powerful, and the force of her pull forced him to take cover behind a statue. His grip initially relented but when her hand stayed stuck to his, Sylvain instinctively gripped back. There was something sweet about how she held his hand so unwittingly.
She was surprisingly strong for someone so much smaller in stature than everyone else. Surely she needed to try out for the quidditch team, or something, sometime in the future. With her size and strength, surely she’d be a champion beater. He bet she could even trade punches with Flash, who was one of the strongest students Sylvain knew.
He gasped as he tried to understand the depth of the situation he’d quite simply fallen into, and his heart skipped when she admitted to only joking. She’d given him two serious scares in just mere moments, and several in the span of a couple weeks! He was certain he’d always remember her. Her freckles made him blush when she chuckled at him.
“Not really, I’m trying to catch some people in the act of bad. Then I can feel like I accomplished something today.”
Then as the Slytherins approached, she gave him a tug that nearly sent him head-over-heels, but he dared not let go of such a powerful person. Her hands were warm and soft despite the strength of her grip. He sensed a kindness to the grip, but had to admit it was a bit too powerful for much comfort. He tried wiggling his fingers to see if she realized she’d been holding on all this time, but she made no noticeable reaction. He blushed again.
“Hey, aren’t you that guy that I met in the forest?”
“Y-yeah, it’s Syl… that is uh, you can call me Syl.”
It felt more like fate than chance that they bumped into each other again so soon. It was only recently they’d collided in the forest. The two seemed dangerously prone to knocking each other off of their feet. Now he was being dragged through the corridors, and her charming and powerfully pale little hands gripped his dirty-gross boy hands into a similar color, but in a blood deprived shade. He kept blushing.
“Do you have any idea where we are?”
“I've no idea, and Lizzie, uh….” Not only had he gotten lost when she’d dragged him away, his earlier predicament struck him suddenly. Feeling vulnerable, but helpless He leaned in to whisper the gravity of his situation to Lizz “This is so embarrassing but, I was trying to find a restroom. Please, we have to find one.” Syl hoped helping him would be a good enough deed for her to feel accomplished for the day.

═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═Lizzie was really thankful that she had gotten the right person and not some random Ravenclaw who looked like Sylvain. She sighed and grinned. It was a relief. Imagine the embarrassment she would go through if it wasn’t him. She would go all read in the face realising she grabbed a random boys hand.
“Oh, that’s good.” She took her free hand and scratched the back of her neck whilst grinning. She looked down at the floor as they had a small comfortable silence. She felt something in her hand and she slowly turned her head. Her face went bright red when she saw they were still holding hands.
Lizzie had never held someone’s hand for so long (if you didn’t count her family). It was basically a new thing to her. She didn’t know if she was doing it right. It obviously had been natural before she had realized otherwise she would have never have grabbed his hand.
After hearing that Sylvain did not know where they were, she sighed. They were lost in the big castle. Two needles (Ravenclaws) in a bigger hay stack (the castle). It was going to be hard to find their way back out of the maze of corridors. Why did they ever make the corridors look all the same?
The blonde quickly went red again. “Oh, you need the toilet?” She asked quietly, “That’s fine. It’s human nature.” She looked around the corner hopping the abandoned toilets were there. Even if they were it wouldn’t be helpful because no one ever used them so they never needed to remember the way to the toilets.
She walked around the corner (still holding his hand). “Ah. Here it is.” She was right. The toilet was there. She quickly pulled her hand away and felt the warmth disappear. It was quite unfortunate but it would be very uncomfortable to say in that position anymore. “Uh... I’m sorry.” She looked at the floor and gestured to the bathroom door hopping Sylvain would take it and then everything would be over. She could go back to the Common Room in peace. After she had found her way to somewhere familiar first. Except that was the opposite of what she did. She decided to wait instead.═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═

Sylvain sighed a breath of deep relief as he washed his hands in the sputtering sink in the abandoned toilets. That was a close call, for sure, and Lizzie had really helped him out of a tight spot. Except, well, she hadn't really helped him at all. Perhaps there was still time for them both to do a good deed and make up for this shameful decision.
Sylvain did his best to dry his hands off on his robes, but eventually began fanning his hands out. As he was air drying his fingers, he heard the voices of the two Slytherin boys whom Lizzie had admitted to stalking tailing earlier. He hid in one of the broken toilet stalls, hoping that the two wouldn't be interested in coming that far into the restroom. He anxiously began eavesdropping on them as they discussed their, dark, agenda.
The two's plans certainly weren't to conquer the world, but it was probably a good idea to tell a teacher they had decided to sneak wizard fireworks into school. It was reasonable to want to celebrate their upcoming graduation to the next year, but somebody could get hurt if they weren't careful and Slytherin's usually weren't to careful about anyone else getting hurt. Lizzie was RIGHT! Those boys weren't up to any good at all.
Deciding he should attempt to crawl under the stalls and out of the abandoned restroom to rendezvous with Lizzie, Sylvain slipped beneath the stalls using his slender frame to his advantage to avoid being seen. He moved quietly past the two boys, managing to shut the stall door in time to avoid being seen.
Finally, after tip-toeing to the entrance of the restroom, Sylvain found Lizzie staring at her hands waiting for him. She was charming as could be, her face alight with happiness, blushing and befreckled. He paused for a moment to admire her charm leaning in whispering to her in an urgent manner."Come on Lizzie, those Slytherheads are up to no good, they snuck in some wizard fireworks against the rules, let's go tell a professor."
His eyebrows raised up as he explained the situation as if to ask if she still wanted to do the right thin. He then opened the flat of his hand and extended it for her to latch onto as he hoped she would take his hand again.

═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═Lizzie rocked back and forth on her heels waiting and whistling for Sylvain to get out of the bathroom. She had only guessed that the bathroom was there. It was a pretty lucky guess. Knowing the Ravenclaw, she would have been wanting to go to the Common room but ended up down in the dungeons. She had a really bad sense of direction.
Quickly looking around the corridor, hopping no one had seen the children, Lizzie lifted up her hand and looked at it. The small tingling feeling had gone. It felt like something that Peter Parker would have felt when his spider sense was acting up. Mostly, ticklish and nothing else.
She smiled slightly and rocking back and forth for a bit longer. Eventually, the heard the door slightly open. She didn't want to make it seem like she was eager for him to get out so she continued to stare at her hands.
After getting startled by her company, she placed a hand on her heart, "Oh, Syl. You scared me." She laughed at herself. Lizzie was bad at a lot of stuff and being scared from out of the blue things was one of them. If she knew it was coming or knew that person normally scared people it wasn't that bad but other than that she would always jump out of her skin.
"Wait, really?" She chuckled a bit more and looked back at her hands, "It was just guess really. Wizard fireworks aren't that bad but I'm sure we can tell at least one person. Just to be safe." She didn't really care if they didn't bump into a professor or prefect. Honestly, she was just happen she was getting better at her guessing games.
Lizzie didn’t care about rules but she did tell the boy in front of her that she wanted to do something productive. It may not have been what she had totally imagined when waking up that morning but it was something. It was also helping her remember where things were around the Castle.
He extended a hand to her and she hesitated for a moment. She had grabbed his hand before by accident but now he wanted to purposefully hold it. It was just a shock really. She hadn't even thought about people in that way since she had gone to Hogwarts. It wasn't something she really had cared about and wouldn't for a bit.
Finally deciding that it didn't matter because they were only twelve, she grabbed his hand. Lizzie smiled at him slightly and then looked away. Quickly, she dragged him down the hall a bit in hopes that he didn't mind her taking the lead.═ ∘◦❦◦∘ ═
