There’s really not a lot to tell. My dad, Joshua Troublefield, is from the United States. He’s a big history buff and came to the UK to study. For his thesis, he had to do an important interview. Except, he ended up walking into the wrong office and interrupting an important fashion photoshoot. That’s where he met Esme, my mom.

They’re kind of scared of magic. We’ve tried really hard as a family to hide my abilities, but it’s getting harder. The ministry sent Leo, a family friend of ours who turned out to be a half-blood wizard to help explain about Hogwarts. My parents thought it would help me minimize my abilities. We probably should’ve read the brochure first.

I grew up in Rye, exploring the old neighborhoods, playing at the beach, and babysitting my babysitter, Clover. Before Hogwarts, I went to a regular muggle school and went to summer sports camps. I guess I have lots of friends both inside Hogwarts and outside of it.

I discovered my magic at school when I was six. One day some friends and I were having a competition of who could jump out of the swings the furthest. I ended up flying out of the swing and clear up onto the roof of the school. Everyone thought it was really great, especially since I was able to get all the toys down. But I guess the ministry had to step in and make them forget, so now I’m just the idiot who got detention.

Which didn’t really change things. Even without magic, I had a reserved seat in the principal’s office. Not that I try to break rules or cause trouble. I think the universe just likes to use me for target practice or something.

So far I have:

• Crashed the snack trolley.

• Made some new friends on the train.

• Lost track of my chocolate frog in someone’s hair.

• Escaped a dung bomb.

• Knocked over the stool during the Sorting Ceremony.

• Introduced myself to the Hufflepuff family by spilling my drink all over the table.

• Talked about horses with some good friends.

• Choked on exploding bonbons.

• Smacked a pixie with my shoe.

• Admitted my idiocy to Head of House

• Learned to dance at the Secret Secret Blossom Ball.

• Scored a kiss from the coolest girl in Hogwarts.

• Made some epic summer plans.

• Was a shameless part of a prank in the trophy room.

• Earned three nicknames: Mr. Troublefield, Clyde, and Clive.

• Raced the coolest girl in Hogwarts. Almost lost.

• Got my jaw knocked in while making new friends.

• Explored the castle with some amazing fellow Hufflepuffs.

• Met one of my dorm mates via a faceful of glitter.

• Got the coolest girl in Hogwarts to agree to be my girlfriend. I think. Not sure if I've woken up to real life yet.

• Tried to use my Hufflepuff powers to comfort my friend.

• Met my girlfriend's very-identical twin. Still hoping I never kiss the wrong one.

• Finished off my first year at a friend's awesome party.

I don't know, I guess I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky sort of person. I got sorted into Hufflepuff, so I guess that means I'm friendly or something. My parents are always warning me that I can have too much energy for some people. And that my curiosity is going to be my downfall one day. The problem with that, is that it only makes me more curious about what that downfall will look like.

I've been told I'm independent. At least, that's what I took from the principal's lecture about rules and conforming. I don't remember his exact words, just that his face was really red and I was starting to worry about him.

My friends at my old school say go to the beat of my own drum. But the cool thing about drums is that they can make other instruments sound really cool. So even if I'm not much of a spotlight guy, I like to bring out the strengths in my friends. Guess that's why I bleed yellow.

My strengths, to the best that I can tell, are:
