Nope. Not doing this Reyna thought, the pile of homework in front of her setting off a fire in her veins. She screwed the the cap on her bottle of ink angrily, most likely making it more difficult for her the next time she went to open it, and she shoved her quill into her bag before slamming a fist of frustration down on the mostly blank papers. After taking a few deep breaths, Reyna felt as if the air around her was leaden and it weighed down her lungs with every inhale. Fresh air. I need fresh air, Reyna thought, slowly standing up and walking deliberately to the exit of the Gryffindor common room. She stepped out through the portrait role and went down the winding corridors to finally reach the ground level. She opened a door and stepped outside, inhaling the fresh air.
She walked down a path to the lake, still feeling the weight of managing homework and all these new people on her shoulders. She stopped by a weeping willow before sitting down underneath it, leaning back into the tree and leaning her head back, closing her eyes with a sigh. Wish I could just stay here, like this, for the rest of time... Reyna thought, but she knew that she would have to do her schoolwork sooner or later. The stress of getting good grades weighed down on her, and sneaking out at night to practice her dance wasn't helping her focus either.
I'm fed up with all of this stupid schoolwork, she seethed internally, standing up and stripping one of the long branches of its leaves and crumpling them together in her hand. Then, she bent down, ripping grass from the ground and throwing it into the great lake. She was having one of her infamous temper tantrums, kicking the tree and ripping up grass and leaves. Then, after a while, Reyna collected herself and sat down against the tree again, still not feeling any better than she had before.

Kaegen saw a girl over by the willow, she was playing with some grass rather forcefully. It almost seemed as if something was wrong, but maybe not? Walking up behind her, on silent, bare feet he peeked over her shoulder as she threw the tantrum. It was so hard to tell, but she was interesting, to say the least. Anyone who would sit underneath a tree randomly ripping up grass was pretty interesting.
He decided, that maybe he should get a better view, and quietly climbed up into the tree. Poking his head down, upside down but on the same level with the girls' he decided that the best way to find out what was going on was to go right out and ask.
After all, she could either be mad, or maybe just playing with grass! You never knew unless you asked. His grey scarf hung low, almost touching the ground, his legs were holding on to the branch above him.
His voice was a bit like a faraway whisper, hard to tell where it was coming from unless you saw him talking. He used to talk like that to keep freaky creatures from easily finding him in the swamps, but it stuck with him like a habit, even here in the "safe" grounds of hogwarts.

Reyna jumped back slightly, startled as a boy dangled upside down from the tree she was under. What in Merlin's beard... Reyna thought, watching as his gray scarf he was wearing nearly touched the ground and as he said the two words she hated far more than anything else: "What's wrong?"
Reyna, in a fit of anger, instinctively grabbed his scarf and tugged it harshly, causing the boy to fall down to the ground. She watched in slight amazement as the boy twisted himself around to cushion his scarf's fall. What on earth... she thought, growing quite confused at this. Suddenly, realization set in as to what she had just done.
"Oh my, God, I'm so freaking sorry!" Reyna said, her eyes growing wide as she put her hands over her mouth. "Do you need help?" she said, feeling guilty for what she had just done. I can't believe I just did that... Reyna thought, fear setting into her heart. What if I get expelled? she thought, slightly terrified.
However, her worry soon faded away as she felt even more stress pile on her shoulders. Dammit... now I have to deal with this along with homework... She groaned, putting her hands over her face. And I bet that this person won't like me in the least, seeing as I just yanked him out of a tree.

Eris was excited to finally go outside after a long day of classes, and just boringness in general. There hadn't been anything to do, although the small Gryffindor prefect had began to feel overwhelmed with the sheer amount of homework that the professors in the school kept piling onto the first years. The outdoors was practically becoming to the young girl, as she had spent the whole day staring longingly out the windows of her classroom, day-dreaming about sitting under her favourite tree and just longing in the grass.
Eris made her way to her tree, humming a bit, walking slower than usual due to the heavy stack of schoolbooks and homework. She paused, seeing a girl sitting alone under a nearby tree, than saw a familiar black-haired boy peek his head out of the treetops and start talking to the dark-haired girl. Eris bit back a laugh. Only Kaegen would do something that weird.
Her amusement faded as the girl yanked Kaegen down. Had she just tried to hurt Kaegen? Of course he was fine. He was Kaegen after all. But still, that wasn't okay. Reminding herself that she was a prefect, and couldn't punch anybody (again), Eris stalked over to the dark-haired boy and girl.
"I don't recommend flinging other students out of trees." Eris said as a way of greeting, staring at Kaegen with a worried expression.

Anatole was across the lake, since he had run ahead of the group he was with. "Hey, guys!" He called, a cheerful finger pointing at the body of water. When he received no reply, he turned back around, spotting his group far off behind him. He was now alone, on another side of a lake he didn't know how to navigate.
Well, to be honest Anatole didn't know how to navigate anything but Tenbury. He was bonafide lost on another side of a lake.
In the distance, he saw a commotion across the lake. However, he couldn't make out the faces, They were blurry, confusing, unrecognizable.
Since curiosity killed the cat, and might as well kill Anatole, he raced back around the lake until the group was in eyeshot. Blue...red...red... Aha. A Ravenclaw and two Gryffindors. Boom.
As he approached them further, he remembered the name of the Ravenclaw, who he had seen in the Corridors earlier. It was strange, well, he was strange himself. At least this time the boy wasn't covered in blood. Kae, wasn't it? Yeah, he was right! He smirked at them, running toward the tree.
From a distance, he thought they were joking, that all of them were laughing with enjoyment. As he grew closer, he noticed that was not the case.
So he commented. "Is everyone alright?" He smiled at Kae. It was nice to see a familiar face...not covered in blood.

Well, that was bizarre. That girl clearly had something against scarves.
Those were Kaegen's first thoughts as he plummeted out of the tree. His reaction to save the scarf was more acting on instinct. It was pretty crazy how much people liked one kind of fashion over another. I mean, just because you didn't like scarves didn't really give you a good reason to yank on one.
And now she was saying she was sorry. For what? Not liking a scarf? He hadn't landed all too hard and it didn't make much sense to him. He fell out of trees all the time, the notion that someone pulled him out of one in order to hurt him was pretty weird.
And then eris came over. What did she mean 'flinging students from trees' She just pulled on his scarf. It's a fashion thing. Grandfather told him that people were really into fashion, and you got bullied if your fashion wasn't the right kind or something like that. Scarf prejudice was unavoidable, he could live with it.
And then to top it off, whatsisface from the corridors came over asking if everyone was alright.
Kaegen had no clue why everyone was so upset that this nice girl didn't like scarves. It was honestly confusing, but he tried to answer some of the questions.
"Don't be sorry, not everyone likes scarves."
And then, talking a bit louder, but still in his signature whispery voice, Kaegen greeted eris, and then answered thinggummy.
"Hi eris, and yeah we're all fine. I just met this nice girl, she was playing with some grass and I put my scarf in her face, so she pulled it out of the tree."
Scarf prejudice sure did attract a crowd.

Reyna stood there, slightly confused as a bunch of people emerged. Flinging people out of trees?...Playing with grass? ... Not everyone likes scarves? What on earth are these people talking about? Reyna wondered, her confusion written all over her face. "What on earth are all of you talking about?" Reyna said, "Playing with grass? Not liking scarves? I'll have you know that I like scarves quite a bit, actually."
Reyna was practically fuming by now. All she had wanted was some fresh air o clear her mind, but what did she get instead? Instead, she got a bunch of people converging on her. Sure, maybe I shouldn't have yanked him out of the tree by his scarf, but Merlin's beard, this is just too many people. Reyna though, clenching her fists as red spots appeared in her vision.
"The ONE DAY I chose to go outside, you all come up on me like a gang or something. Can't you all just LEAVE ME ALONE?!" Reyna shouted, before feeling something, most likely a particle of dust or a microscopic bug fly into her eye. Whatever it was, Reyna knew one thing about it: it was stuck in her contact.
She bent over, rubbing her eyes frantically as the stray piece of dirt caused her eyes to water, and her already red face gave her the appearance of crying. "Ow, ow ow ow ow OW!" Reyna mumbled, making it sound as if she was sobbing. Why won't this stupid contact WORK!? Reyna, thought, growing frustrated,

Oh, so she did like scarves! Well then why on earth would she yank his out of a tree?
He could tell he was going to get along fine with this girl. She liked grass, she liked scarves, I mean, she was even strong enough to yank him out of a tree! He wasn't sure how strong you had to be to do that, but it must require at least a little bit, didn't it?
Couldn't they all just leave her alone? Were all those other people bugging her? It made sense. In a world of fashion bias, scarfless ones sometimes annoyed people.
Or at least that was probably why this was happening. I mean, honestly it was his best guess. Although she didn't have a scarf, which was probably why she was this upset. Kaegen was trying to piece together what was going on, he awkwardly tried to signal to the others that the girl was upset and wanted the scarfless to leave her alone.
And then something got in the girl's eye. It had happened to Kaegen before, and she was fixing it wrong.
"Give me a second."
Slipping around her he brought his face a few inches below hers and tried to move her hands out of the way. His fingers were nimble and smooth. If she would let him, he could have whatever was in her eye out in a heartbeat.
"I'm not going to hurt your eye"
Now if only this would work out as well as he had planned, she would be down one painful eye.

Slowly, as Kaegen talked to her a bit in his odd whispery voice, Reyna felt herself relax slightly. Slowly, she lowered her hands to her lap, even though her eye was burning and irritated. Then, she felt Kaegen's hands quickly pop her contact out. "How did you...?" Reyna said, her vision slightly distorted as she looked at the boy, having only one eye with twenty twenty vision and the other blurred. However disorienting it was, it felt much better than the pain her eye had been seconds before.
"Thanks," Reyna said, her voice slightly louder than a whisper as she wondered how he had known how to get the contact out of her eye. "I didn't catch your name..." Reyna said louder, a slight frown tugging at her lips.
Most of her anger and stress had evaporated into thin air by now, the pain and the experience of meeting new people had distracted her from being so upset, and she felt as if her tension had been relieved. Just, then, she noticed that it was a bit chilly. Reyna went over by the tree to her bag that was sitting there and pulled out a red and yellow scarf - Gryffindor colors. She quickly wrapped it around her neck and let out a satisfied sigh as the scarf's warmth soaked into her entire body.

He knew it! The girl asked him how he did it, and he happily responded, pleased with himself having been able to read that the girl had not, in fact, been upset she had been playing, and in addition to that, he did the right thing when she got this horrible plastic disk in her eye! How did that even get in there in the first place? He looked down at the contact. Did someone cast a spell causing a plastic layer to form over her eye? There was no way this blew into her eye.
Kaegen glanced up the hill. Someone cast this without him noticing. That was a bit disturbing, but not too bad. He knew how to get rid of the spell, just pop out the disk! It was actually pretty retarded how easy this spell was to neutralize.
"Do you want my full name, or just what you can call me?"
He smiled broadly as the girl put on a scarf. So it was about scarves! He knew it the whole time!
Looking up at the naked necked scarfless ones on the hill, he waited until the girl wasn't looking, and then wildly gestured at their necks, and then at the scarves He and the girl were wearing. With any luck, they would get the hint and put on some neck wear.
