✪ Backstory ✪

Oliver was, in himself, a shy bookwormish person that hung his head in the hallway and prayed not to be noticed. He quoted Dante, Socrates, Aristotle ad any other philosopher that came to mind in a time of need. He had never been the popular kid and was content with himself, to say the least. He knew his parents were wizards, but he had no desire to be one. He did not like it because he was simple. He believed you could get on just fine without magic. He liked muggle contraptions and believed that some things of the wizarding life made it easier but they were unnecessary. All his reading had led him to be against magic. He hoped that he would be a squib, one born without magic, but alas! Twas not to be. He was a wizard.

On the day of his first magical incident, he was minding his own business reading the newest addition to his favorite book series, the encyclopedia. This was an updated, better version than all the ones he had before. As soon as he had bought it, he had run home hoping to show his parents his newest reading material. They were not home. So, deciding it was too happy, sunny, and overall beautiful day, he skipped to the park. His face visibly darkened as he spotted the group of boys that liked to torment him about his reading. He hung his head and attempted to get out of there quickly without them noticing. But luck was not in his favor for they spotted him. The lunged at him and, grabbing his book, they proceeded to toss it amongst themselves despite his protests until at once they stopped. He held the book in his hands. They ran screaming away from him. He had gotten the book back using magic. The Ministry of Magic caught wind of this incident and made all of the boys forget what had happened. Even though the incident caused some hassle for the Ministry, they were still happy to add another wizard to their ranks. Afterward, He was disappointed that he had been a wizard after all but, deciding to please his parents he pasted a smile on his face, went back home announced this new fact to his parents and little twin sister, and settled in to wait for his Hogwarts letter when he turned eleven the next week.
