Jane sat quietly in the empty compartment, a book about magical creatures in hand. Her mother had given her the book just before she got on the train "Something to entertain you on your journey" She had said in a comforting tone. Jane smiled as she read about all the different creatures of her magical world. She had already changed into her school robes and couldn't wait to get to Hogwarts. This year would be her first and she was very excited. So excited, in fact, she almost forgot how truly nervous she was. Almost.

Jane lifted her head from her book and looked out of the window, taking a deep breath in and letting out a sigh. Thankfully nobody had entered the empty compartment yet, making her a little more comfortable than she would have been otherwise. She leaned her head against the window, the sun still high in the sky. She knew the ride would be long but she never expected this. She could hear others outside the compartments laughing and having conversations. She smiled, holding out hope that she would make friends at Hogwarts. She sat her book down beside her before standing and stretching. She stood on her compartment seat and reached up to the rack holding her trunk, grabbing a small brown bag from beside it. She opened it as she sat, pulling out a small container with a sandwich in it. She took what looked to be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich out and took a bite, silently thanking her mother for the food.

When Lucille boarded the magnificent Hogwarts Express she felt like her emotions were blowing on her like some kind of tornado.Her mother and father were waving,(surprisingly it was her father who cried).Now she would be on her own,to become the best witch she could be.That day,she was sporting a muggle "Beatles" T-shirt her father had gottonher for her birthday,and her favorite faded green jacket that Lucille had since forever.Sadly though,whenever Lucille peeked her smiling warm cocoa face into a window the other students would either nod their heads no,or simply slam the door shut.
The train had just started to gain speed when she found an empty compartment."Thank goodness."she thought to herself.As Lucille sat down in the compartment she noticed another young girl sitting right in front of her.Startled,Lucille gave the girl an awkward smile and said,"Sorry to intrude,I didn't notice you were in here!Uh-is it okay if I stay?I think the other compartments might be full.."Shyly,Lucille looked into her leather bag and brought out her new copy of "A History Of Magic"which she had gotten from Diagon Alley.Ever since she found out she was going to Hogwarts Lucille had been eating up every bit of information from the wizarding world she could get her dirty hands on.Still waiting for the girl to reply,Lucille began to look outside of the window to see the beautiful Scottish hills and valleys passing right by the train.

Jane looked slightly surprised at the company but nodded quietly "Sure. I don't mind" She said, quickly packing her food away. She put it right back where it was before, silently promising to finish it later. She grabbed her book and buried her head back in the pages of magical creatures. Every now and again she would glance up at the curious character, paying particular attention to the girl's shirt. After about two minutes of this, she finally got the courage to ask the girl a question "What are the Beatles?" She asked quietly "I mean, of course, I know what beetles are. The insect, but I'm not quite sure I know what the Beatles are." She mumbled, trying not to embarrass herself. She had put her book down and was now wringing her hands together, trying to calm herself. Her heart was beating quite rapidly and she was sure her face was turning red, but she kept her head up regardless, determined to make a friend. She glanced out of the compartment window, realizing how far they had traveled before looking back at the girl. She really hoped that she hadn't asked something stupid or offensive while silently cursing her pale skin.

Cassie ran down the platform when the door of the train about the close off. Their mom shouted something but in hurry situation like themself in, it falls into deaf ears. When the train pull out from the platform and gain its speed, Cassie wobbles and loose their footing and banged their forehead onto the glass door, quite loudly.

"Bloody hell!"They cried while sitting on the aisle of the train. They stand up and a lot of young and old students whose saw their misfortune, giggling. Cassie stand up while holding the semi headache they now sporting. They look left and right but all the others compartment already full until they found one that consist only two other girls around their ages.

Cassie grew up as elegant an poise. This misfortune are not something she experienced in their everyday life. Cassie knocked on the glass door and slide it open. "Uh,"Cassie massages their forehead trying to lessen the headache. "I am sorry to bother you, guys but it looks like the other compartments already full. Can I seat with you?"They inquire the other two. When Cassie put down her hand that cover her forehead you can see a red mark that visible enough on their forehead.

"Thanks"Cassie said as they stepped in into the compartment and slide the door close. Cassie seated near the glass door. Once or twice massaging their head. "Do any of you have an ibuprofen or similar like that? My headache killing me"Cassie informs the other two. "I'm Cassandra but you can call me Cassie"Cassie told the patrons inside the compartment.

When they finally seated down, they look at the girl that seat at the far end corner across from her near the window. She continuously wring her hands together and her eyes were darting around the compartment, like she searches something to focus on. She finally decided to stare out of the window, the blurred scenery seems to calm her.

Cassie also take notice how the girl trying to tell herself to stop wringing her hands and took a deep breaths. It also seems to calm her even more. Her body slag and the tense of her body language seems disappears. Unconsciously she grabbed her book and hold it close like she tried to make the book a a shield or something.

"You okay, mate? I can tell that you seems nervous about something? You can continue to read your book, you know. The ride will be long and if I were you I rather spend it reading or sleeping"Cassie stated and grin to the other girl.

"Me? I'm fine...I just." She stopped herself before she could finish. "My name is Jane. Nice to meet you." She said with a smile. "What about you? What happened to give you a headache?" She quickly added, gesturing to the girl. She was still clutching her book in her arms. It wasn't that she wanted to read, it gave her comfort as it was given to her by her mother. She looked around "I don't have anything that could calm a headache. I have food but that's about it...Sorry." She said with a small frown. She stood up climbing onto the seat to grab her brown bag of food, taking out a water bottle that didn't carry water. "If you want, you can have some of this pumpkin juice. My mom packed it for me for the ride here but I'm not really thirsty." She said gently, holding out the bottle to Cassie. It was a rather large purple bottle and she pulled out an accompanying cup, ready to hand both to Cassie.

She looked at the girl with the strange shirt and suddenly realized that her question was never answered. She began to think that the question was too weird and that maybe she should never have asked. She felt terribly and decided to leave the girl to her own devices.

Lucille had gone from feeling worried, to feeling very worried and very embarrassed in quite a short time.Though before she had a chance to answer the girl's question,another fellow first year walked into the compartment and began to talk to the girl in front of her with their hand on their head."Oh hi.." Lucille said quietly.As the other students began to talk Lucille found out the girl's name was Jane,and the other student was called Cassie."Oh and by the way Jane...uhm..to answer your question,"The Beatles" are a muggle band I'm sort of interested in at home." She said shyly as she looked at her feet."Why do I have to be so awkward?"Lucille asked herself glumly."If mom is so confident the why can't I be more like her?"She thought to herself. The thought of her mother's confident attitude didn't actually help the young witch feel better.As she looked back at Jane she decided to wait for her to answer, when Lucille looked back over to the student Cassie she couldn't help but say something."What happened to your head?"Lucille had asked curiously while seeing them have their hand over their head.Not wanting to sound rude Lucille quickly added,"If you don't want to answer that's definitely fine with me..."

Jane smiled "Oh really? What kind of music do they make?" She asked, glad to know that she wasn't being ignored. She ha rested the bottle and cup on the seat next to her so anyone who wanted some could take it. Her brown bag was being squished between her and the wall and her book was between her back in the seat. She didn't pay any attention to her situation though as she was too curious about the muggle band. She truthfully hadn't been taught much about the muggle world, her parents only telling her of things they passed. She also knew the basics, like cars and dogs, but she had always wanted to know more. The only thing she paid attention to was how warm she was getting. She pulled her robe off and rolled her sleeves up. She now knew not to wear your robes until you reached your intended destination. She folded her robe and set it on her lap, not wanting to climb the seat for a fourth time on that day. Besides, she would be needing her robe once they got to school and she didn't want to have to climb the seat just as they arrive to grab her robe.

"Nice to meet you, Jane"Cassie said to light brown hair girl. "No, it is okay"Cassie assure the other girl. "It was a misfortune, really. I was late upon arriving at the platform. The train about to picked up its speed and in hurried manner, I ran and hopped on. I know it's dangerous but I not going to miss the train ride under any circumstances,"Cassie told the girls inside the compartment.

"So after I hopped on the rain, the train picks up its speed, my feet got wobbly, I lost my footing and banged my head onto the glass door quite loudly"Cassie continues. "Hence now I have a headache and sporting this red mark"Cassie explains and point to their forehead. Both of Jane and the other girl asked the same questions.

Then Jane took out a rather large purple bottle and the accompanying cup. She told Cassie its contain is Pumpkin Juice. "I would like some, if you do not mind. My Mother said Pumpkin Juice can lessen headache. My Mother works for St. Mungo's"Cassie stated after Jane had rested the bottle and cup on the seat next to her.

The other girl explain to Jane what is 'The Beatles' are and Cassie listen to it. Their knowledge to Muggle things also limited due their father being a Pureblood elitist. "I am sorry but I do not catch your name. You are?"Cassie address to the other girl.

Wyatt arrived just in time. He had to get a cab to the station, and could barely remember what his mum said about how to get to platform 9 3/4. He got his bags on the train and managed to jump on right before the thing started moving. He made his way through the train, worried. He previously hoped he'd be able to get his own compartment, but he judged from the ridiculous gaggle of parents waving goodbye that it wasn't going to happen, and he was right. All the compartments were full, and some held more students than they should probably hold. He saw some compartments with 3, but they were all much older, possibly even groups of 5th to 6th years. Wyatt wasn't in the mood for dealing with teenagers, so he skipped those. The train picked up its pace and Wyatt realized he'd have to find a bloody seat, and quickly, unless he wanted to be run over by the snack cart.

He found the lest crowded compartment he could and opened the sliding door. "Hey- Uhm. I'm Wyatt. All the other compartments are full. Do you mind if I joined you? " He quickly noticed the girl wearing the Beatles tee and felt relaxed, finding someone with common interests made Wyatt feel more comfortable in the new setting. "Oh, I love The Beatles." Saying it out loud made Wyatt's mind understand further. Possibly another half-blood, or a muggle-born. Something normal. He was starting to really miss normal.
