@Evelynn Decipio
Dear Evelynn,
(This is for an errand in which I write nice notes to people. Just a heads-up.)
I have no idea what's going on with you and Rafa, but I just want to say that his opinions don't reflect mine at all. Actually, I think you're really cool. Brilliant, to be honest. I don't know what the Liberation Club would do without you.
I think you're great because even though you're super intelligent, you don't let that get in the way of being nice to other people. You aren't haughty or proud like the other people I know who throw around difficult words trying to make themselves look better than everyone else and "above it all." You're an invaluable asset to our House, and I really with I could get to know you better, even though the last few times we met weren't really prime friendship time and I was a bit too moody to talk to you during the errands.
Also, I heard you cast a perfect Incendio at Rafa (whose own Incendio backfired, which I think is hilarious.) Not only are you witty and intelligent, but you're also incredibly skilled at charms (and Potions too if I've heard correctly). I know that I may not have made the best impression on you during our last few encounters, but if we can both look past that, I think we could be friends. If you're okay with that, of course.
So would you consider meeting with me by the Lake, just to chat and have some tea? I'd love to get to talk to you without crazy interruptions for once, and Merlin knows we still have a lot of figuring out to do regarding the case.
Kindest regards,
Josephine Elizabeth Morgan

Scared to call them my friends and be broken again; Is this hope just a mystical dream?"

Dear Jo,
I am so very sorry. I don't know what happened? I just found your letter — the one that you had written to me for the errand. I don't even remember ever seeing this, if I'm completely honest. Gosh, you much think me so rude for having ignored it. It must have gotten mixed in with my notes or something. I'm really sorry. I would have replied sooner than this. Honestly.
I really don't know what to say. Thank you. Those kind words that you wrote to me, I really wasn't expecting that. I'm not sure anyone has described me as "cool" before, haha. Do you really think so? I suppose being a seeker, even if it is only second string, helps with that a bit. I always thought that the players on the Quidditch teams were very cool before I joined. I mean, I still do. Most of them, anyway.
And thanks.. I know I've struggled to make friends a bit here. There are definitely those that don't think the same that you do. But I've been trying to be better about it. And I'd really like to get to know you better as well. I think we got off a bit on the wrong foot, and I think that was mostly my fault. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I judged you a bit too soon, I think, when we were all looking at the tapestries. I don't know how much you remem I think you're very clever. You clearly have a knack for hunting out clues and scrounging up evidence. Really, if there's anyone that the Liberation Club can't do without, it would be you and those who managed to uncover bits of information that others couldn't.
But, I have to ask… what do you mean you heard I cast a perfect incendio at Rafa?? I never cast anything at him! If he's going around telling people that, then you're getting the entirely wrong side of the story. I cast it at the ground which is where it landed. If I'd been trying to cast it at him, then it would have hit him. Unlike him, I can actually aim. And cast a spell. Sorry. I just- Honestly, I have no idea what's going on with him and I either. He hates me for some reason? I've tried to talk to him, but I may as well be talking to a wall. Actually, that would probably be more productive. At least a wall doesn't have anger issues and hit people. But he got pretty defensive when I mentioned you, now that I think about it. Are you two friends or something? If you are, I'm sorry. Do you know what in the world is going on with him, though? Have I done something to offend him? I'm getting pretty tired of his attitude, to be completely honest. He's an idiotic troglodyte and frankly the one thing I'm not looking forward to about next year is having to come back to him still being the Gryffindor Team Captain.
Anyway… sorry. Again. I just haven't really talked to anyone about him until now. Who told you about the charms and potions, though? I mean, they are my favourite subjects…
But all that aside, are you sure? Honestly, I thought that you'd never want to talk to me again. If you're willing to, it'd be nice to try to start over.. Maybe we can write over the summer? It would be nice to have a friend. Obviously, this is where I apologize again. I would absolutely have come to spend some time by the lake. It's actually one of my favourite places to go to relax. There's a big tree on the south side where I like to set up my homework to study. It's quiet there. But seeing as yesterday was the last day, I'm a bit late on that…
It would be really nice to talk about the case, though. I've had some warnings about conversing over owls since they could be intercepted and read, but maybe we could arrange to get together over the summer or even talk through the use of a.. Telephone.. Or something? In the meantime, I've included my address at the bottom. Please feel free to send me an owl or a letter by post.
Sincerely,
Evelynn Decipio
