Questions About Hogwarts Staff
I am confused about how the staff thing works. I would like to become a staff member if a spot opens up, but I am still not sure how it works. If all of these questions are answered somewhere, could you put a link to that or tell me where it is? A few questions- if you have time, please answer them! I may add on to these questions, and if they are answered, I will put a marker to show that they no longer need answering.
1) Can you be a staff member as well as a student? How would that work?
2) In staff applications, it says, "Nickname:". What does that mean?
3) If you become a staff member, are you automatically an administrator or moderator as well or do you have to apply to that as well?
4) Am I correct in saying that if you are a staff member, you have a salary?
When I say staff member, I mean Hogwarts staff such as a teacher or the caretaker.

Questions About Hogwarts Staff
Okay, so. I'm not an official staff member, but I believe I have an understanding of the questions in which you ask. If I'm incorrect about any of this, someone feel free to correct me. Otherwise, here are your answers~
[1] Can you be a staff member as well as a student? How does that work?
The answer to this question is yes, you can be a staff member as well as a student. In fact, as far as I understand, every teacher has a student account. In the case that your application is to be accepted, staff would allow you to make an alternative account, in which you would carry out your duties as a moderator. Of course, this is different for prefects, who manage their duties through their original account.
[2] In staff applications, it says, 'Nickname'. What does that mean?
This is simply referring to your on-site nickname. For instance, my character's name is Rafael, but he more commonly goes by Rafa. In this case, you would just put the name of your student character, or whatever they generally are referred to.
[3] If you become a staff member, are you automatically an administrator or moderator as well or do you have to apply to that as well?
Moderating is part of the staff position. However, you can still moderate private events without being a staff member. Staff only moderates official events, such as Official Balls, Quidditch Matches, Errands, and House Adventures. There are other events that are student-moderated, such as SWAG, Jorah's Hide and Seek, the Unofficial Quidditch Match between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, and Alan Vanes's games of Tug of War and Tarantallegra Tag. However, in moderating these events, you will need to make sure that what you are moderating is in accordance of the OOC rules set in place by the staff, otherwise you'll most likely be reprimanded. As for an administration position, I believe that's the purpose of staff?
[4] Do staff members have salaries?
Yes, they do. However, if I'm correct, this money is for the purposes of funding errands and activities, as staff doesn't want people to apply solely for the purposes of funding their student accounts. This is where my knowledge may be iffy.
I hope this helps you understand your inquiries a bit better~
I probably haven't collected my allowance yet.

^ Pretty much what Rafael said.
The only additions to add:
1. "Professors" or "Head of Houses" cannot access any staff areas on their students accounts, so staff work has to be done on their staff account. For Prefects, this access is given to their main student account.
2. Honestly, anything here is fine. I just did my student's first name.
3. Every staff member is automatically a moderator of the site and of discord. The admin team is the Head of Houses + Headmaster.
4. Yes. Prefects get a salary directly to their student accounts, which can be used for themselves - like it would be for people on the Newspaper Team, who also get a salary.
This is my former staff account.
