First time at Hogwarts
"Don't forget to send me an owl, when you get there ok? I'll be waiting" Ella's mum told her as she gave her a big hug.
"Yes mum, I will" Ella replied, her face buried in her mum's sweater. "Ok go now, you'll miss the train!" her mum patted Ella's back and kissed the top of her head.
As she got on the train, she stopped to look back on her mum, who, she could tell, was having a hard time holding her tears back. She gave her mum a flying kiss and mouthed the words "I love you" and finally went inside to search for an empty wagon.
The train was almost jam packed with kids of all ages. She could tell that many of the students on the train were first years, just like her because they were asking each other about what they knew about Hogwarts and what house they think they'd be in.
Ella wondered if she'd make any friends. Sure, she had friends but none of them knew she was going to Hogwarts. She wasn't allowed to tell them.
She dragged her luggage down the train corridor until she found a wagon that was empty. She slid the door open and settled her luggage on the floor.
Once she was settled, she looked out the window to see kids saying their goodbyes to their parents. She tried looking for her mum but she was nowhere to be seen. She thought that her mum probably got lost in the crowd for she was short for her age.
After waiting for about five minutes, the train finally began to move. Ella felt the adrenaline pump through her veins as she thought about Hogwarts and all the stuff she was going to do there.
She was most excited about attending her transfiguration class for it fascinated her. There were many things that fascinated her about Hogwarts and all the classes that were taught there. Transfiguration was one of them.
It was quiet for a while, Ella was busy looking at the beautiful scenery out the window, and imagining the things she would do at Hogwarts once she got there, until someone knocked lightly on the door.

Ella hugged her mum goodbye one last time, finally convincing her to let go by telling her mom that "Of course I will owl, as soon as I'm sorted" But as soon as she let go, her little sister Emily ran to her and gave her a big squeeze. Emily said to her, "I want to go with you!" Ella's mum pulled her away, telling her the same thing she had every day since Ella had gotten her letter. "Sweetie, in three years you will be going on that train as well, but not this year." Ella laughed, but then remembered why her brother, Kane, wasn't here, helping her in her first year. He had been expelled for dualing on school grounds more then once, and using magic in the muggle world. She hugged Emily quickly one more time, then hopped aboard the train, waving to her crying mum. When the train started, she walked into the train's walkway, looking for an empty wagon. when there were none that were empty, she decided to ask to sit with a girl who looked friendly. she knocked on the door and the girl looked up, then got up and opened the door. Ella asked this girl, "Could I sit with you? the other wagons are all full."
