Phel did not often go to the study room.

He was rather an unsocial bear, living in its cave and only going out for food when it came to working on his homeworks. With his attention deficit, he preferred to be alone, in a calm place when he would not be bothered by the constant chatting and the comings and goings of other students. The study room was not such place. Of course, children there behaved themselves - to an extent - but it was still pretty hard for Phel to concentrate in those conditions.

The only reason he was in the study room was because he was to meet someone there. A student he had met in class had been impressed by the boy's performance in one of today's exercise - which was, well, purely thanks to a good dose of luck - and wanted to do his homeworks with Phel. The little Eagle had been rather reluctant to accept, perfectly aware of his difficulties to work with other people, but he ended up being convinced and agreed to meet him.

The study room was rather busy, as expected from a weekday evening. Students were mostly working in groups, leaving plenty of space for the boy to find a seat. He looked around. He could not find the boy he had met earlier in the day, so Phel guessed he just arrived first. He went to sit on one of the benches near a window and got his books out of his bag. He opened the first one where he left his bookmark and started reading. History of Magic was a class he appreciated and he was convinced his attention would remain focused on his...

It took less than five minutes for him to start looking at the window instead. The dusk would soon stop, getting out of the way for the night sky to reveal its beauty. Luckily, Phel could only see the colours through the blurry glass of the stained window; seeing the details of the clouds and stars would definitely condemn him to another night of failing to work his lessons. He stared at it for a little while, patiently waiting for the other kid to arrive. Minutes passed and he still would not show up his nose.

Sighing, Phel proceeded to concentrate again.

#3DFF9E is a bright colour, I'll agree, but that way I'm sure you pay attention <3
It's not about keeping Gryffindor around so we can save the school ; but about whether we should kick Slytherin out so we don't have to save the school.

September, 2019.

Hogwarts is a fantastic place to live in. A few weeks after she arrived, Ivy was enjoying her new life without her parents. She did miss them sometimes but she appreciated being able to sleep later, to eat more candies or to have a few friends. As for her homework, it was a different story. The little Grant had never worked by herself before coming to Hogwarts, and even if she was far from being stupid, she had troubles to get to work.

She once decided to come to the study room in the evening to focus on her History of Magic lesson. As the room was rather crowded, Ivy looked for a seat and found one near a tall boy she didn’t know. This boy was dark-haired and very pale. Ivy discreetly glanced at him several times – he was wearing the Ravenclaw badge and revising the same lesson she was. What a coincidence, she thought with a large smile.

She hadn’t carefully listened to the professor but she could remember the subject was about Gargoyles, something her father had already taught her. She tried to answer the questions asked by the professor without reading again the lesson but unfortunately, she couldn’t remind what her father said apart from the fact that they could speak and allow someone to access a secret passage. Of course, this information wasn’t sufficient to complete her whole work. She nervously began to stamp the floor because she was not interested in this lesson. A sentence her father told her a hundred times hammered her mind.

Hogwarts is not a nursery, Ivy. You will have to do work if you want to learn magic and not being expelled.

The boy next to her seemed to have less strict parents because he was not paying attention to his homework. Indeed, he had been looking to the sky through the window for more than ten minutes. The dusk was beautiful from this viewpoint, but Ivy thought the boy could see it more directly in the parc instead of taking a seat in this crowded room.

Why are you here if you are not even working? History of Magic is very easy to learn! My father is a History of Magic professor at the university, he told me many things about Gargoyles. The fact is that I think it’s boring so I don’t remember all he said.
