Clearest Blue

Lark found herself split from the rest of her new found gang after their last class. James and Gem had run off together, most likely Logan in tow. At first she had felt lonely with the boys taking off but as she wandered down the halls and towards the Great Hall, the smell of food luring her in as her stomach let out a low rumble, the young Ravenclaw girl found she needed some alone time to let her Charms lesson sink in. Being at home around her family casting spells and using magic was one thing... having to take notes and learn more in-depth about them seemed pretty intense. Not that Lark wasn't enjoying it and absorbing all she could but it felt like a whole new world. Living away from home, being among people her own age, and having to be responsible for herself... It made her head spin. Or maybe that was from having passed on some of her breakfast feeling intimidated around the others this morning. Either way she felt like she was in a dazed state as she shuffled towards lunch.
Whatever it was she passed through the large doorway and followed behind two older Hufflepuff boys who were shuffling over each other in a race to get to their house table. Almost bumping into the back of the darker haired boy, she lurched forward and caught herself on the edge of the Gryffindor table.
"S-sorry!" The apology flew out of her mouth as she steadied herself. The Hufflepuff boy glanced back at her seemingly annoyed but continued on his way. A wave of heat prickled the girl's freckled cheeks in embarrassment noticing she had caught herself not just on the table but managed to put her hand into the plate of food of whoever the poor soul was sitting down next to her. "Oh! I'm sorry I didn't.. I didn't notice they had stopped for ah minute-" Words fumbling over one another as they fell from her lips, hands moving to try and pick up pieces of food that had fallen on the floor and bench. 'Stupid.. stupid stupid..' Her cheeks burning a deeper shade of crimson as her eyes stayed glued to the floor, desperately trying to bring herself to look at who she had just fallen into. "I can get ye ah new plate... er well-" A few giggles pulled her attention away to a pair of girls giving her a once over before whispering to each other. First official day and she was already making bad impressions.. Right, of course they didn't serve here the tables were already filled by the house elves. Pressing her hands together, she balled them into fists and internally scolded herself for not being more careful. 'Look ah'me when ye 'pologize' Her mother's stern tone rung through her skull. She could hurry and just apologize properly before heading towards the Ravenclaw table... or just going back to the Commons with how absolutely mortified she felt now noticing the bit of what appeared to be cheese on the side of her palm. Forcing her golden eyes to raise, she swallowed the massive lump that had formed in her throat as her stomach clenching as another waft of warm bread tickled her senses. The whole ordeal felt like a lifetime when she noticed looking up the Huffleboys were barely out of range and she must have been babbling so fast at the person she had fallen into they were most likely thinking she was utterly mad.
"I-" Lark's mouth hung open as her eyes settled on the face of her victim. Deep pools of blue shimmered back at her set against a familiar face of sun-starved skin. The sight of the boy left her a bit breathless. The thought of the train ride in seemed like it had happened ages ago but there was no way she would ever forget those eyes. "Y-You!"
