How are you! I know it's basically been a day since our ride back but.. I missed talking to you already. Seems super strange being home! My Da went out and had to chop this huge monster of a tree down... shoulda seen it! I bet you would've loved that.
Corvus is... alright I suppose. Ma won't really let me get too close.. Da was about to let me hold him the other day and she came rushing in all in a tiz. He's so tiny.. and cries like.. a lot, a lot. Ugh.. I really miss being at Hogwarts. Wish I had stayed honestly. Gran's obsessed with talking to me and keeping me close now that it's apparently "out" with the family what I am. What does that even mean? Why should I be "out".. They didn't bother to tell me what I was and they knew but act like it's no big deal now? Ma didn't even ask about the ball and what happened last Fall. Da was more upset but he brushed it off quick still. They're mad I swear.
Better be off! Ma needed the family owl but I want to catch her first. She's only on about sending out these pictures of Corvus to family across the way. They're from something my Da picked up, odd little box thing that takes these still Muggle pictures instantly. I don't know, pretty fancy thing though either way. They're like small square pictures? Kinda black to start and Da makes me shake them... and Muggles think we're weird.
Write back ya ?
If not I'll hold these Charms write ups for homework hostage the rest of term!

Dear Lark,
I've been good, basically crushed with hugs since getting back despite only being gone a few months, Mum's a bit of a worrier. We're having the rest of the family over for Christmas so I had to give up my room temporarily which kinda sucks. Me and my Cousins all sleep on the floor in the living room. The twins stole the couches because they're older.
House with all these people has made things a bit hectic. Our tree is ok, it's artificial so we just keep it in a box and assemble it every year. Looks good though, my Mum's really into decorations and stuff. I'm a little worried about Dad though, he got a night shift on Christmas day so he could spend it with us but he'll be knackered by the time his shift comes around, plus things can get a little rowdy on Christmas night. It's only Thurso though so I'm sure it's not too bad.
I'm sure Corvus will grow on you eventually, I hope the crying clears up but for all we know you were just as bad when you were a bairn. I'm sure at some points you'll want to thump him, but I'm sure it'll be nice having a brother, might be a bit less lonely. I dunno, my parents decided one was enough.
As for your whole deal I can't even imagine what that's like. All I can offer is a friendly ear...or eye I guess, if you want to talk about it.
I should probably get myself an Owl one of these days, it's a bit of a pain trying to flag one down that actually knows about sending letters, kinda wish you'd just get yourself a phone. They poo less than owls.
Yeah that's like an Instant camera, I think my cousin has one, surprised there's not just a spell for it, and don't worry I'm sure the novelty of Corvus will wear off soon. My baby cousin Susan's started to get less and less cute as we go.
What are you all going to do for Christmas? Got any weird Magic traditions you want to tell me about? Do you guys have Turkey or Ham? What do you even get each other?
Oh! That reminds me, I've got you something but you'll have to wait until we're back at school. Mum says it'll never make it to Cork this late, but I'm sure you'll like it anyway.

I got Ma some new Herbology studies book she mentioned and Da a scarf. Not much but I had to go off allowance! What about you and your family?

Oh a pressie for little ol' me? You shouldn't have!
Sorry it took so long to get this one out, promise I didn't forget, just...y'know Christmas, can't really be locked away sending letters to your best mate when your family's all over the place. We've packed the tree away now though, until next year. As for how it stands up...well it's got legs and such, and little, well I don't really want to explain it in this letter.
Thanks for letting me borrow Gill. I got a bit curious about the ears thing, he didn't take kindly to it and bit my finger so I won't be trying it again. Dad did his best to make christmas special for everyone but he seemed anxious the whole day, and he took a nap sometime in the afternoon. He came back ok in the morning though so that was good.
I got my Mum some smelly bath stuff and I got my Dad a model kit. Well I say I got them me and some of the cousins all chipped in. What did you get for christmas?
And hey, no worries about the Corvus thing. I mean, I'm sure brothers suck. My cousins do my head in all the time so I sorta get it.
I've missed you over these holidays. We'll have to have you over some time and you can meet everyone! My mum keeps asking about you and Dad keeps calling you my girlf well I suppose it doesn't matter. Can't wait to see you!

I hope this letter isn't too late, I tried to write it as quickly as I could. I couldn't find Gill for ages so I hope when I eventually got him to take it he actually delivered it with some speed.
Your mum's right to be nervous about us muggles. They say our bites cause terrible illness! Muhahaha.
Sorry...anyway it took a bit of convincing to my parents for them to wanna go. I had to convince them that it would be rude to turn down such a polite invitation. We usually do New Years as a family thing so we're sorta breaking tradition a bit. I suggested we could have a late new Years party. Nobody liked that idea, it was my Great-Grandad that finally sealed the deal. He's usually got my back when it comes down to it, you'd like him!
I don't think there'd be enough time to post the tickets. Unless you like...magic them over I guess? What's floo travel? Sounds snotty. I'm probably supposed to know what it is by this point but I can't possibly keep all the magic mumbo-jumbo in my head, I'm just one man!
So yeah, we can come. I think we can probably afford some plane tickets since its a short flight. Hopefully your Gran can get her money back for those tickets if you can't get them over to us. Mum's making trifle but we're having to put it in tupperware so I dunno if it'll come out super nice.
Mum wants to know if we should come in fancy stuff since your family sounds kinda fancy and all. I think she just wants to wear her nice dress. Let me know if you can, she'll probably pack it anyway.
