SET A WEEK BEFORE HOGWARTS STARTS
Grace lay quietly in the bottom bunk of her bunk bed, staring at the wood of her brothers bed, the small girl couldn’t sleep, she quietly slipped out of her bed and tip toed to her trunk, she checked her school stuff for the 100th time, she made it neat and organized, how she always liked things, even though Grace wasn’t, she was clumsy and awkward, but as Grace tip toed back to her warm bed her brother made a noise “Go to bed Grace” Jack whispered, Grace rolled her eyes, “I am stupid” she slipped under the sheets and went back to sleep.

IN THE MORNING

Grace grumbled as she felt someone shake her awake, it was Jack, Grace sat up and rushed to the calendar, Sunday, that’s exactly a week before school starts, Grace bit her nail and went to the kitchen, once she finished breakfast she brushed her teeth and got changed, as she walked through the halls she stopped at her cousins bedroom, she noticed that her cousin was staring out the window “Uh.. hey Rachel, you okay?” Grace asked, Rachel turned to Grace and said “Your too young to understand” Grace looked at her but closed the door and walked away. Grace looked at her mom once she got downstairs “Somethings wrong with Rachel...” she said, Grace’s mom just smiled at her and squeezed her shoulder, “I’m gonna go for a walk” Grace told her mom, her mom kissed to top of Grace’s head and Grace left the small house, Grace skipped as she walked down the street, she tried not to look at people passing by but failed, one Grace got to the park she sat on an empty bench and read her book.

It is a rare occasional, really that they stayed at their grandparents's house (from their mom's side) that resides in London more than a week long. But since they got the letter from Hogwarts that they will attending that prestigious school, their mom decided it is a wise decision since the new school year will begin next week since it will take longer to travel from Ironwoods Manor to King's Cross station if they choose the later.

On this particular morning Cassie usually being a night owl, oddly wake up earlier than she used to be. After ate some of their breakfast, Cassie said to their abuela y abuelo (grandma and grandpa) {Cassie has Cuban blood} that they will be at the park, maybe playing some basketball with the kids she acquaintances with. Basketball is the only Muggle sport Cassie know.

Once they arrived at the park, the boys that they acquaintances with already start the game. "Yo, Cass! hurry your arse here"One of the boy yelled at them as the boy pass the ball toward them. "Chill out, geez!"Cassie said as they put down their water bottle and the little sport towel that they bring. Casssie and the boy play rounds until the sun nearly reach it peak.

One of the boy passed the ball harder than he intended and it flew above Cassie head and almost hit their head if Cassie was not ducking down. "Seriously?"Cassie yelled, annoyed by the boy action. "Sorry, lass"Was the boy weak apology. The ball fly far from the basketball court and knock a book out of someone hand, hard. Cassie jog toward that someone while bringing the sport towel in their hand.

It was early, too early for this, even for someone who liked to watch the sunrise as Mars did. They groaned as the morning light streamed through the open window, throwing a blanket covered arm over their eyes.

Suddenly, there was a series of bangs at their bedroom door, along with a couple of quiet giggles and frantic hushes. Mars sighed and lifted the blanket off of their face, squinting against the sunbeams. Grudgingly, they sat up stretching, feeling the muscles in their back ripple as they were tugged from their resting position for the last six hours.

Lazily, Mars looked over to the bedside table. On it lay a single envelope stamped with eye-catching red and a complex insignia. Scowling, they plucked it off the table and stood, dropping it in the similarly filled wastepaper basket as they padded to the door.

The hushed giggles were still audible from the other side of the wood. Slowly, Mars crept to the door, fingers lightly brushing the handle. In a single motion, they swung it wide, sending the three little boys on the other side scurrying away in a fit of terrified laughter. They stood, internally amused, arms crossed as their little brothers stayed hidden behind various furniture.

"You dare try to wake me?" They scowled, sending another wave of giggles through the three little monsters.

"You'll pay for that!" They ran at the closest one, arms outstretched. In turn, the little boy ran, successfully tripping himself on the ornate rug, and flying down the stairs. Mars twisted, body reacting to follow him down the steps.

When they got to the bottom, the little boy was all smiles, grinning up at them with scraped knees. they sighted and tousled his hair affectionately.

"You little monster, you scared the sh*t out of me."

"Don't swear in my house! And stop making such a racket at this ungodly hour!" came a shrill voice from behind them.

Mars turned and sighed. A lady in a bathrobe was staring down at them from the top of the banister, arms crossed in a way that matched her disapproving stare.

"Sorry Lady Estella, it won't happy again." The little boy at Mars' feet apologized.

"It had better not!" She exclaimed. Turning to Mars, she pointed at the door. "Take all of these little monsters out of my house! Go to the park or something!"

In Mars' opinion, it was much too early to be listening to this lady yell at them, so they rounded up their brothers and pushed them all out the door.

----

At the park, the five little boys had all immediately run in the direction of the playground. Sighing, Mars followed them.

In the background, they could hear the noises of a basketball game proceeding in the court neighboring the play structure. It was second nature by now to lift a hand to the earbuds dangling at their collar bones and make to lift them to their ears. However, before they manage to drown out the noises of the park, a loud thud sounded behind them, followed not a split-second later by a yelp.

Mars recognized the sound of the basketball bouncing away and quickly put two and two together. With a quick glance at their brothers throwing woodchips at each other, they gave in to their curiosity and turned, watching a person with a sports towel jog over to someone else who was looking at a book facedown on the floor.
