Fred grinned evilly to himself as he loaded his bag with dungbombs. He had a massive stock of them and he made sure that there were still plenty left for future pranks. He slung his bag over his back and raced into the grounds looking around for a good climbing tree. He glanced around until one caught his eye, it was a tall towering pine tree with evenly spaced branches and thick bark that if necessary he could use as grips. Fred made sure his bag was on tight and circled the massively thick tree looking for the first branch, it was quite high so he used the thick bark as grooves for his hands, they scratched his hands and were quite uncomfortable but Fred didn’t mind. He soon pulled himself up onto the first branch which he used to swing over to another branch about the same level but more hidden among the leaves. He grinned to himself and pulled out a dungbomb that he had in his hand ready to fire on the first innocent passer by. He hung his bag on a branch so he could easily pull out another dung bomb when the time came. Fred crawled along the branch, he was in the perfect position to drop it. He vowed that he would keep firing dung bombs until the putrid smell reached up to where he sat. He heard footsteps approaching and he dropped the dungbomb, he held his breath, he was very hidden among the leaves so he couldn’t see where they were and had only his ears to tell him when to drop it. Had he dropped it too soon? Only the sound of the approaching student would tell him.

Rosalyn had just finished her classes for the day, and decided to go for a small stroll on the Grounds. She did this almost every day. For Rosalyn, nature and the outside calmed her down, even in her most stressed state. The pine trees around her danced in the wind as she walked down the paved pathway. As this day was warm and gorgeous outside, Rosalyn decided to have a picnic in the grass. She had packed all of her favorite foods and sweets, just so she would enjoy her day even more. The bag of cookies in her pail were still cooling off from being heated up in an oven. After walking for a good five minutes, Rosalyn spotted the most magnificent place for her picnic. There was a small clearing with a beautiful view of the sky. It had trees surrounding the patch, but not in it.

When Rosalyn decided to walk over to the clearing, she heard something drop. As it was instinct, she ran back to the pavement, accidentally dropping her pail in the moment. Right when Rosalyn reached the cement, a dungbomb went off. She immediately knew that she had made the right decision to run. Rosalyn waited for the foul smell to pass before she walked over to the tree that the prank bomb was dropped from. As she saw a boy in the tree, she looked up in confusion about why he would do this. Rosalyn had never seen this boy in her time at Hogwarts, so she was wondering why he made her waste perfectly good food.

He held his breath waiting to see if it landed at the victims feet, it missed, as it fell from his clutches he could see that she (the unsuspecting victim) was far away enough to hear it and run away. He still couldn’t quite see who it was through the dense leaves blocking his view but he could tell it was a girl and she had dropped something that upon closer examination seemed to be food, however he still couldn’t see which type. He was sorry that he had made her drop the food but really he couldn’t be blamed for her dropping it while running away. True, if it had been ruined by the dung bombs the blame would have been his, but he knew for an almost certain fact that dung bombs gave a nasty smell to food for a couple minutes but didn’t do any lasting damage to food. He knew she could see her and suddenly considered the possibility of her snitching, he grew more and more worried and finally made a decision of what to do. He would have to be really nice and apologetic and try and make her not want to tell, maybe he would even have to invite her to join in with the prank. The more he thought about it the better this idea seemed, after all if she had participated in the prank she couldn’t snitch. So he stuck his head out of the leaves so she could see him in full view.
“Hello?”

As Rosalyn was not the type to snitch, the thought had not even passed through her mind. As the boy’s head suddenly stuck out from behind the leaves, Rosalyn jumped back in fright and fell right on her bottom. She stood up quickly and tidied herself by brushing off dirt and leaves. Looking back at the boy in the tree, Rosalyn realized that she had never seen him before. He had absolutely no reason to pull this prank on her, but he did it anyway. After picking up her food basket and inspecting it, Rosalyn decided to introduce herself to the prankster.

“Hello, I’m Rosa”
Her teeth tugged at her lip in nervousness about the situation. Rosalyn wondered if he would stay in the tree or get down from the high place.
“Erm, I was wondering why you did that to me?”

While in the golden sun light, Rosalyn stood awkwardly, waiting for an answer. In these few moments, she decided to take a closer look at the mysterious boy. He had silky brunette hair and a slight tan on his skin. If you looked close enough, you could see the freckles lightly splattered on his face. She saw the nervous glint in his eye, and decided to give him a slight grin.

Rosalyn flinched when Fred swung down on the tree branch. He liked pranking others? That certainly was not a quality that she held, but could not blame someone for their interests, no matter how unique they may be. Rosalyn was glad that her food was okay, but still a little upset about being pranked. At least he wasn’t trying to harm her in any way. As she looked into his eyes for any remorse, she decided to speak once again and answer his question.

“Pranks do not really catch my interest, I have not ever really seen the point of them. Maiming or scaring people is not something I necessarily want to do in my free time.”

Rosalyn said this with no judgement in her voice at all. She wondered why he was so interested it making jokes of others. Even though Rosalyn had not pranked anyone before, she could not fathom the idea that it may be fun to others. She supposed that she could try it out for herself to understand, but did not want to risk getting in trouble with her superiors. Looking back up at the boy, who was a little taller than her, Rosalyn gave a sweet smile and waited for his answer.

He twiddled with his thumbs whilst he waited for her response.

Fred felt a bit offended. He didn’t mean any harm by playing a trick or two, it was just a bit of fun. He couldn’t predict which people would accept it was a joke and laugh about it with him and which people would feel personally offended and act like he was trying to sabotage their life or something like that. The truth was Fred had always been a very good humoured boy who laughed when people tricked him and didn’t mind in the slightest and to tell the truth he didn’t have much patience with the other kind of people. But Fred was determined to get to know this girl better before he made up his mind about her, after all he was always making up his mind about what people were like and having to change it.
“Well er I’m sorry I scared you, but personally I don’t see much harm in a little joke, after all what else would I use these dung bombs for? And I’m sure it won’t do you any lasting damage don’t worry,” he said this last part with a good humoured grin.
