Festival!
(Hi this the Asian Society's First Event! You may participate! I won't make this a serious rolling dice kind of event! Let's just have fun, just don't godmod! If you wish to sign up go here!
Adohiro had prepared buckets of water for today's event along with two hoses near the well and ten water guns, it was around the time for the Chaul Chnam (Cambodian New Year). He hoped someone would participate just anyone. Or else all of this would all be in vain. It was to celebrate the end of the dry season and it certainly seemed like a good day to get wet. There was a sign that said Cambodian New Year, despite it being a few days off, he did not think it would matter.
He hoped this water fight game wouldn't get too out of hand, but he did hope people would have fun. There were ten water guns, so people could try to snatch the water guns and even the two hoses near the well. He had not had time to prepare for some Cambodian food, he certainly did not know how to cook Cambodian food but hopefully, people would be more focused on the water fight than food. Of course, food was important but he had no time or the knowledge to even make it. Adohiro could make Japanese and Korean food from scratch certainly, but other foods he was skilled in others.

Meredith walked down from the school and saw Adohiro filling water guns and wondered where he got them. As she drew closer she said to him," Hi I was wondering where you the water guns because aren't they muggle objects or are they bewitched with jinxes so they backfire on the person who is shooting the water gun, and how many people were you planning on having here. Sorry I haven't really been able to attend to any parties or events because my father disliked me leaving very often." Ack that sounded really annoying. Why can't I talk like a normal person to other people!? Well maybe it's because Dad never let me talk to people outside of that dreadful muggle school. This event actually looks kind of cool I guess I mean have never used water guns since well since never really. Wow I even talk weird in my head. oof! Meredith thought rather annoyed at her random questions and opinions. She knew that Adohiro was in her house and year so Meredith tried to drop all of her usual attitude but still ended up with a whole lot of annoying and discomforting feeling. There was water and when people got to use water they can tend to go rather wild with it and even from her window she can get drenched in whatever they are using to fill the water guns which is usually soda or slime they made really watery or even milk which can lead to a very very very smelly yard and house walls which make Meredith go and wash them because her father makes her go and clean it with a lot of soap that is the color of the walls.

When Mars had heard of an Asian Society Club, it immediately sparked their interest. To be perfectly honest, Asain culture was something they had only read about in books and through the occasional friend of a brother's mom. Evidently, Mars had some qualifications; their naturally black hair, hooded eyes, and general face all spoke of someone of Chinese descent, but Sir Kyron and Lady Estella were white through and through and had no time for such distant traditions.Interacting with @Adohiro Moira and @Meredith Ready
And yet, something about such things was familiar. Mars smiled at the memory of nights spent at friends of their brother's houses, dining on traditional Asian cuisine, scallion pancakes, bok choy, and soy sauce covered fish almost warm in their mouth. They lived vicariously through those visits, picking up things here and there, fumbling around with chopsticks, lighting firecrackers, being nagged one too many times by an old Chinese grandma.
At home, they tried their best to recreate certain practices for their brothers. The mooncakes had been a hit with the five younger boys. they remembered the pride in each of their eyes as they held various globs of dough, all stamped with silly designs, smiling up at Mars with flour-covered faces. Estella's impending rage at the mess in the kitchen was worth the laughter, the sweet-tasting red bean, and the night on the roof, gazing at the moonless sky at the thousands of watery stars.
They were sweet memories and yet, there was something about them that was off, something missing, some truth lost. Mars shook it from their brain. It wasn't something to dwell on. Right now, there was the job of figuring out just what Adohiro was doing. The boy was surrounded by bucket of water and water guns and was staring off in the distance at two hoses by the well. Evidently, this was meant to be a water fight of some sort. Mars grimaced a little. Water and them didn't mix very well.
But it was warm, the sun beating down on the paved stones of Hogwarts' walkways, burning the skin of those who stood under its rays for a little too long. Even Mars had to admit they were boiling under their robes. What they wouldn't give to just go around in a tank top for a day. They sighed, looking around, eyes catching a sign that read,
"Cambodian New Year."
Huh, so that was it. When they turned back to Adohiro, there was a blond girl staring inquisitively up at him. She seemed to be saying something, words flooding out of her mouth in a whirlwind. It was kind of cute, in all honesty. Mars looked around for more people, but it didn't seem like anyone else had arrived yet. Shrugging, they picked up a water gun and filled it, testing a squirt on the skin of their hand.
It was cool, refreshing under the heat of the sun. Maybe this would be half-bad, Mars decided.
[ Home, they said. I should like to go home. ]
