*Background Story*

Dominique Halliwell always believed herself to be a fairly normal person. She was born in the normal city Garlway in Irland to her also fairly normal mother Bianca Halliwell. When she was 3 years old, her mother decided to move and raise up her child in Berlin (Germany). Dominique grew up and went to a normal preschool with normal classmates.
Never in a lifetime did the thought occur to her that she might be different from the others. Especially not in a magical way...

Dominique's father left when she was just a baby so even thought she is considered a half-blood she never had any contact to the wizarding world, until her letter and a professor arrived to explain the situation to the mother-daughter-duo.

*The accidental magic*

Of course, the news of Dominique being a witch came as quite the shock to the pair and not even the unusual experiences, that the professor explained as so-called “accidental magic”, made the situation less strange.

~Dominique and her mother Bianca were grocery shopping when the young girl spotted a ice cream truck at the parking lot. And of course like, any other child, Dominique just really wanted an ice cream.
Her mother in quite a haste didn’t really had the time to stop for ice cream. And after having her wish declined Dominique just sulked behind her, until suddenly she felt something cold and soft in her palms. When she looked down at her hands she saw that the ice cream she didn’t get just seconds ago somehow appeared in her hands.
When her mother turned around to look for Dominique and saw the ice cream in her hand, she scolded her daughter. After all she thought Dominique had just taken the ice cream and ran for it. The young girl remembered being quite shocked and actually a little bit more angry with her mother than before, but she still got her ice cream.~

*The Letter*

But when the day came that the two had to say goodbye at the train, the hectic of the past was long forgotten.
Dominique remembered being quite excited to meet new people and maybe also new friends.

And when the train finally arrived and the sorting took place, she couldn’t be happier to be sorted into Slytherin.
