I Like You-r Face.. Yeah
Annie screamed into her pillow yet again. She was laying on the ground, an ink jar next to her, quill in hand and an empty piece of parchment laying in front of her. The girl had tried writing the same letter over and over again, always unsatisfied with the end result, she ended up Incendio-ing her other attempts. The Hufflepuff bit her lip before starting again.
Heya Captain, it's me.. "No no no..." She shook her head and crossed it out, wincing at how bad it was. Annie paused and thought before starting again.
Hey Saskia, I was wondering if you knew about the ball. Annie scoffed at her writing. "Well duh, she probably knows.." She continued writing. "This is the first time I'll ever be attending a ball and I'm pretty nervous, I've heard things haven't so called, sailed smoothly in the past. "Great now I'm adding humor to this awkward letter. I like you would like you to accompany me to the ball, if you don't already have a date, but I'm not asking you on a date haha, cause that would be weird right? Uh yeah, please consider this don't make me go alone..
Yeah Annie was panicking all right. The word date struck up a weird feeling of butterflies mixed with the warmth of a fire in her stomach. She read over her letter and sighed. It wasn't good quality at all but it was now or never, before someone else took her to the ball. The prefect got a determined look on her face and marched back toward the dorm room and into a room. She looked at the bed across from hers before slipping the letter under the sheets with the tip poking out. Her heart pounded and the blood rushed into her ears. "How am I gonna be able to stand being in the same room as her after she reads this. The ball is still a bit away, oh no I'm already regretting this..You know what it's fine, so what if I get rejected?"
She threw herself on the bed and groaned loudly before she threw the covers over her head. The girl finally calmed down after awhile and the blankets slowly rose and fell with her small breaths. Annie had fallen asleep, the letter had worn her out.

I Like You-r Face.. Yeah
It was a bit later in the night when Saskia came back to her dorm. Not too late that it was past curfew, but with enough delay on her part, she might have been caught by one of the professors or the prefects in the corridors. It was better to be safe than sorry.
The warm light of the common room was the first thing that greeted the girl as she stepped in. Even at night, there was still a cozy vibe that put her at ease. It was a far contrast from the night weeks before when the common room was in flames. But time healed wounds, and things were relatively back to normal. It was no different than what happened at the Masked Ball last year. For every accident that happened, she had to move on. That was how it was.
She didn't want to think about anything else. She just wanted to go straight to her dorm room and forget about her worries until tomorrow. There wouldn't be another fire that would start in the common room- it was made sure that it wouldn't happen. And even if it did happen, then at the very least, she knew what she could do the next time, probably. She survived it. She could survive it again.
She didn't quite expect the piece of parchment that stuck out of the sheets of her bed. Her mind immediately flew to various scenarios. The obvious one was that someone put a note of some sort. Maybe it was a flyer for some event, or someone wanted to send a message of some sort. Whether it was the good kind of message or the bad wasn't something she knew yet, but considering that it wasn't sealed in the form of a howler, she could breathe a little easier for now. It could have been something else entirely for all she knew.
There wasn't any better time than the present to take the mystery parchment out. Saskia pulled the piece out of the sheets and read over the contents. It didn't take long for the corners of her lips to tug upwards. Her heart felt light, but she didn't know why. It was a simple request. Take Annie to the ball so she wasn't lonely. That was all there was to it.
Feeling motivated to write, she took out her quill and a new set of parchment. It didn't take much time for the words to form on the paper. She knew what she was going to say. There might have been some parts of the letter she could have worded a little better, but she wanted to make this quick. She wanted Annie to let her know what she thought as soon as she could. She'd still put some effort to make sure it was presentable, but this wasn't something she could keep delaying.
Once she was done, she folded the piece of parchment and quietly walked over to where Annie's bed was. She was fast asleep by now, which meant that putting it in the bed in a similar fashion to what Annie had attempted was not an option. Fortunately, there were other options. The most convenient one was the nightstand that was next to her. There wasn't much else she could put it, unless she wanted to hide it under her bed or something, which already seemed pretty wrong. So, that was where the parchment would have rested. On the middle of the nightstand.
ReducioHey Annie,
Yep. The ball's pretty much what everyone's talking about by now. And yeah, you're right. The other balls ended in a big disaster. But this one's going to be different. At least I hope it will be. It's hard to tell what will happen.
Either way, I'd be happy to take you to the ball. I wouldn't want you to spend your first ball alone. Here's hoping that things go better this time around. And if it doesn't, I'll make sure to keep you safe, if that's any consolation. But again, hopefully it doesn't come to that. : )
I'll see you soon.
With that done, Saskia headed over back to her bed and pulled herself in the blankets. She really did hope things would turn out okay.
