This is a most curious, multi-faceted wood, which varies greatly in its character depending on the wand core, and takes a great deal of colour from the personality that possesses it. The wand of chestnut is attracted to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possess great gifts in Herbology, and those who are natural fliers. However, when paired with dragon heartstring, it may find its best match among those who are overfond of luxury and material things, and less scrupulous than they should be about how they are obtained.

As a rule, dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power, and which are capable of the most flamboyant spells. Dragon wands tend to learn more quickly than other types. While they can change allegiance if won from their original master, they always bond strongly with the current owner.
The dragon wand tends to be easiest to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of the three cores to accidents, being somewhat temperamental.

History/Background Story:

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland with her two non-magical parents and half-brother from her mother's side, Esmay Caster was sent to basic primary school up until her letter from Hogwarts arrived. At first, her family thought it was some kind of joke, but quickly realized that the strange circumstances of Esmay's outbursts of magic could not be ignored. They quickly enrolled her and did everything they could to figure out what to do but sadly did not know any wizards or witches around them and were too afraid to reach out for fear of seeming crazy.
While her relationship with her family was mostly normal and one of closeness, Esmay now found herself being an outsider. She felt that her parents could no longer understand her circumstances and issues in school.
However, Esmay found that she was often an outcast within her friends at school as well and now just added her family to the long list of people who seemed to treat her differently. What hurt the most was her older half-brother now being jealous and fearful of Esmay and her hold on the family. She suddenly took up a lot of the conversations at home and a rift appeared in their relationship right before Esmay left for school at Hogwarts.

While she seems brave in her words, she has irrational fears such as being afraid of the dark. This fear of the dark sparked the discovery of having magical abilities. After years of forcing her way into her parents room and snuggling up with them, her parents had to be more strict on her behavior so they would always take her back to her room. When she realized she had to stay alone in her room, she got extremely scared and squeezed her eyes tightly until small specks of light lit up on her ceiling (like magical glow in the dark stars).

Personality
Esmay never had trouble making friends, but often had trouble keeping them as she would speak the truth and call her friends out for being mean to her. This didn't always go well and she ended up only having a few close friends that valued this honesty and ability to speak up. For fear of losing friends, Esmay started to back off on her harsh words and learned to keep her mouth somewhat shut unless the situation required it. Although she doesn't know much about the wizarding world, she feels confident and determined to make her way and name known.
