History/Background Story:
Ida Victoria Hoover was born in Wokingham Without, a hamlet in England, to a police officer mother and a teacher father. Her muggle upbringing was a positive one. Growing up, she always enjoyed reading about books involving children her age going on adventures including magic, dragons and other fantastic creatures. Of course, those were just stories and there was the ever-present doubt of magic ever existing.
Starting from the age of six, Ida has always shown – albeit accidental – incidents of magic. A notable being when she got a haircut the day before she had to go back to school. Needless to say, she despised it and hoped for a miracle to save it. Surprisingly, it grew back to its original length the next day. That was strange, but it was only one incident, right? Wrong. At the age of eight, she lost a tooth which grew back as if nothing ever happened. Mr and Mrs Hoover didn’t think too much, knowing that these were only isolated incidents – their daughter couldn’t possibly be magical, that’s crazy!
Ida’s letter to Hogwarts arrived and she was ecstatic – it was just like in one of her books! Her parents didn’t understand much of this “school of witchcraft and wizardry”, but their daughter was magical. There wasn’t much they could do in that department. Nevertheless, Ida strives to do well at Hogwarts as she would at any “muggle” school.
