Dear Mother and Father
I was sorted today! I could barely believe it when the Sorting Hat, yelled out, Ravenclaw! I guess it knew better. I am really sad though to not be able to carry on the family tradition. But Leighton still can.
I really hope I'm able to get an owl soon,(hint hint), these school owls just don't look as reliable as Author.
I can't wait to start classes.

How is everything going on back home? Are you actually having to help out in the shop now that I'm not there?
I can't wait until you join me here at Hogwarts, it's absolutely wonderful. They feed us so many sweets here so much more than Mother would ever let us have. Like for example at the Start of Term Feast they had ice cream, and pies, doughnuts.
Well, I have to go, I just wanted to write you a little something..I miss you already.

I have realized that in my excitement I had forgotten to write to you. Even though I know Mother and Father will tell you anything important. I thought it would be nice to write to you myself.
I really like the new quills you got me, also thank you for sending the blue ink.
I know this letter is rather short but nothing really noteworthy has happened since I last wrote. But don't worry if I get into anything that I can't write mother about I'll let you know.
