History/Background Story: This would be your character’s life prior to Hogwarts as well as what has happened during your time at Hogwarts.

Riona grew up in Limerick, Ireland, in a large, magical household surrounded by a large, magical family. She was homeschooled, her parents preferring that she spent her time with her family instead of any of the "mundanes", as her relatives affectionately called the Muggles. As such, she is rather ignorant about basic Muggle concepts such as "poverty" and "loneliness", though her knowledge of their literature and entertainment industry is rather extensive for any normal witch or wizard.

Some of her many cousins were Squibs, and as such had to amuse themselves with Muggle pastimes like TV shows and board games. Riona entered many fandoms this way, beginning a life long love of crime fiction and D&D. She was also introduced to ordinary Muggle telescopes, earning her an interest in stargazing, and Muggle instruments, leading to her love for playing violin. Her parents let her pursue all of these interests, happy to see her happy.

It was these same Squib cousins that were so instrumental in so many of her interests that lead to her first use of accidental magic.

She was nine at the time, and visiting a local Muggle playground with two of her younger Squib cousins. They were on the swings, and she was taking turns pushing them, and they were all having quite a good laugh. Then two boys approached. The older one looked twelve, while the other one appeared to be around the same age as Riona.

The older one, presumably the older brother, approached them and rudely demanded that they bequeath use of the swings to him and his brother. They, of course, denied that, saying that they were occupying the swings, but in smaller words known to young children. The boy walked over and pushed one of the Squibs off the swing - she landed badly in her arm, and started crying. The boy laughed.

Riona was feeling very defensive and protective at this. She walked up to the boy, bristling. He laughed some more, and tried to push her. He stopped laughing. He tried to push her again. And again. Yet Riona was standing quite steady, far too steady for someone of her stature. She placed both hands on the boys chest and shoved him backwards. He flew through the air several metres, landing uninjured on his back. He scrambled to his feet, spat in Riona's direction with an expression of fear, and ran off with his brother.

Her cousin ended up alright.

It was only after, when she was recounting the tale to her family, that she realised it was magic. They congratulated her, and then moved on, satisfied. Two more years passed, and when Riona received her letter, no one was surprised.

At Hogwarts, Riona was sorted into Gryffindor. And this is where our story currently stands.
