History/Background Story: Lawrence's family comes from the small town of Ballybeg in Ireland. However, they moved to London when he was still a baby. Due to his lack of administrative experience at the time, he wasn't included in the decision-making process therein.

Lawrence is a bit of a goon. This isn't to say he's lacking in talent (he is, but that's not the point). The light is definitely always on, it's just that sometimes, nobody's home.

Standing at a miserly three feet and nine inches, Lawrence has always been the shortest among his friends. He's confident he'll hit his growth spurt one day, but for now he just uses a worn old pair of boots to hike him up, if only a tad. Curly, shaggy brown hair runs wild and free over the surface of his scalp, often spilling down and covering his light brown eyes. Teeth didn't seem to get along with him very well, apparently coming and going as they pleased. At the time of his acceptance into Hogwarts, Lawrence was missing both front teeth, but held firmly onto the hope that new ones might crop up before the summer was out. (This did not happen.)

As previously stated, Lawrence was raised in London. His family spent two years in the small town of Ballybeg following his birth before deciding it was time to get out of there. (Well, his parents decided. He was hardly experienced enough to be included in the preliminary discussions, nor did he particularly care. He was informed of the decision later on, but his indifference proved that he was not yet old enough to be on the committee. His parents were fine with this.)

In London, Lawrence attended kindergarten at a muggle school. His father was skeptical at first, but his mother wanted Lawrence to get a view of the whole world, not just the magical side of it. The greatest joy of life at home was a big shaggy dog named Gump-a title proudly administered by Lawrence himself, receiving approval from the board of Parents only after a week of his continuously yelling 'Gump! Gump! Gump!' through the morning and the night. Lawrence thrived off the sweet taste of victory. Gump was an oblivious dog, but constantly happy nonetheless. Lawrence connected with him on a spiritual level.

It was through Gump that his magical abilities began to emerge at the age of seven. Lawrence's parents returned home one night to find Gump, whose white fur had been turned several shades of blue, standing upside down on the ceiling. The babysitter was absolutely dumbfounded, considering that Lawrence was right up there next to the dog(though not as blue). Since then, Lawrence's father had to use more magical ways of monitoring him while home alone, rather than employing a muggle babysitter. (The babysitter in question, of course, soon had her memories erased by an Obliviator.)

Lawrence comes from a long line of Ravenclaws. His father and his side of the family have always felt an attachment to the house, even before attending Hogwarts. Lawrence felt no such predisposition. Honestly, he was just excited to play Quidditch. Posters of all the Quidditch greats adorn his bedroom, along with his Viktor Krum alarm clock.
