What are ways to obtain money? I know about the scholarship, but some people have loads, and it doesn´t make sense to me.

You can get money through scholarship mainly. That also gets higher every year, so as a second year you get 2 sickles and as a third year 5. Additionally money is often given out as reward for errands.
Finally there are jobs such as newspaper or staffmember as well as Quidditch or Duelling Captain, which are paid.

No prize other than being involved in something that Lear cooks up if she is able to come up with something for the month. But for basically the entirety I've been here (~2 years) there's been something.

There's also the prize of glory, which is priceless.

1. It depends, but often yes. To my best understanding, usually what would be considered as the price is an RP thread especially for the students of the winning house, often taking place in their common room. On certain occasions (usually announced at the start of the month/before the next house cup), students of the winning house who contributed certain amount of points in that month can earn something even rarer, such as extra Galleons.

2. Yes, the top students who earn most points that month will have a price (usually 3 students, but sometimes can be more - also usually announced beforehand). Usually this means joining the special thread (see my answer for your first question above); sometimes they earn extra Galleons or even a pet or a broom for free. For these very special prices, usually it's announced at the beginning of the month in order to motivate them to collect points.

The prize changes monthly. sometimes money. sometimes frogs. Sometimes pets. A lot of times we try to correlate prizes with new systems that are out. We also give periodic opportunities (biannual) for players to run their own larger event with staff assistance to top earners. I also try to give individual story opportunities or participation in larger adventures. The more I see a player doing independently the more I can offer them in terms of individual adventures. It really varies admittedly, I don't often announce what the prize will be because a lot of times there are different applicable stories for different houses. Sometimes we know what the prize will be (for instance the next 2 months have been announced with this house cup winner).
