If its not I used a different site other then the HP wiki to look up some fort of etymology. Dose this work? Or do I need to use the wiki?

So. Usually the answer is in the lecture.

If it's not, then you usually look at HP wiki or HP fandom sites. If it's not listed in either one, then you'd revert to general wiki. If it's not there, you should probably ask the teacher and see where they got their information because it should be in HP wiki, HP fandom or general wiki. I don't know where else you'd get the information from if not any of those.
