i started watching howls last night but only got about halfway through before i had to take a break... but i sat down and watched the entirety of spirited away!!! ive never felt so moved by a movie before! it was like miyazaki himself reached into my soul and pulled a piece out!!!

I love those movies so much! I'm so sad that How Do You Live is the last one! Castle in the Sky is my favorite movie of his! What's yours?

Only anime I’ve ever seen, definitely a good one. I watched it originally when I was a lot younger (maybe 9-10?) so I didn’t understand it, but I’ve seen it since and loved it

ive never seen castle in the sky in its entirety- but i did base zyair off of pazu lol! my favorites are ponyo, kikis delivery service, and totoro~ but id probably say spirited away or totoro are my all time favs!! even thinking about spirited away is gonna make me tear up a lil!!!

2) Princess Mononoke
3) Arrietty

Honestly, all 3 could take my top spot. As do all the other ghibli movies They're all so different from each other yet they're just so much fun to watch

Miyazaki's worldbuilding is the kind I'd love to be able to master

me too! ive never been particularly interested in art but watching miyazakis work makes me want to create something with as much love as he has

My favourite bits are always the ones that are the most mundane: characters going about their lives in these big, expansive worlds. It's just nice to see characters feel like actual people, doing human things. It helps keeps them grounded and well developed I think
