The young Ravenclaw takes a seat and looks at the other pairs.
"Does...Anybody want to be my partner? Any Hufflepuffs, Gryffindors, Slytherins?? Another Ravenclaw?" She asked, desperately looking for a partner.
She trembled a little, not wanting to work alone. She was group-dependent, and felt like nobody without someone to work with.
She attempted to get the correct ingredients, and emptied them onto the table.
She gets set up, but continues to tremble with anxiety.
Issabelle entered the classroom, feeling exited. "Oh, I just can't wait. What will we be making?" She asked herself. She looked at the notes on the board; 'Your objective is to brew a Pepper-Up Potion'. After reading, she noticed her best friend, Ashley! "Wonder!" She called to. Ashley turned her head. Her eyes filled up with relief. "Izzy! Your here!" She whispered. Issabelle sat down next. "What do we use?" Asked Issabelle. Ashley told her; "Bicorn's horn and Mandrake root."

Ashley opened a bag full of random ingredients. She felt around for a bit. "Aha!" She said after retrieving the ingredients." If I recall... We have to... Put these in and... Cast a spell." Ashley explained, attempting to stop the Mandrake root getting stuck in her hair. Ashley put the ingredients in, and tried to recall the spell she needed. "Was it... The Counter-curse for Curse of the Bogies?" She asked. Issabelle shrugged. "Well how about you cast it, I've done most of this..." Ashley asked Issabelle. "Alright then..." Said Issabelle, getting her wand out.

The girl pouted and crossed her arms, quite dramatically, with the look of "Why would you even say that? I'm done talking to you"-look.
*Wha-what is this? C...c...cute...*
The boy began to shake his head, unsure of what had just come to his mind. Either he was going insane or some ghost at school was whispering in his ear.
"St-stop...please?" Said Siege, a bit uncomfortably, turning to face his Pepper-Up potion.
*What the hell was that? She looked...weird...but...weird...definitely weird... ike a cat for a moment...*
The boy stared hard at his potion, not daring to move an inch more, only focusing on the crimson color that the potion held.
It was as if he had consumed the pepper up potion, and was steaming from the ears, he did not like what he thought of, and wanted to forget it. It felt so damn foreign to him that he thought it was a disease or something...And what was that word? I didn't know that he knew of such words, and neither did he. And since when the hell did he say the word "please"?! Not even to his old man he'd say please...
*What the hell...Forget about it...I may have cancer or something...What? Does this potion cause cancer? How? I didn't read that in the side-effects! I really need to...*
The boy suddenly paused his thoughts, only to be overcome with a feeling he knew all too well...Anger. He was angry that he lost his cool, he had never lost it, not since his step-father had taken him in, but this time...a fight didn't make him loose it...It was the one next him...Maybe she was more of a devil than him after all...

The girl was such a little drama queen. She continued to pout, staring into her potion as she sat with her arms crossed for dramatic effect, "Hmph!" She exhaled air sharply, making sure to make the noise just in case he didn't realise she was being particularly theatrical. Ahh, melodramatic Serena, that's what we should call her now.  The Hufflepuff was keeping her eye on the time, in all honesty - just to make sure her potion didn't overcook. There was still a few minutes for it to brew before her thirty minutes were up. She was not genuinely mad or anything so multi-tasking was relatively easy for her.

Of course, she had absolutely no idea what was going on in Siege's head or what happened to change his personality so suddenly. The girl suddenly heard his shuttering voice, asking her to stop... politely.  Woah. It was such a polite approach, she blinked slightly and then looked over towards the Gryffindor, dropping her whole dramatic act. He was staring into his cauldron. Intensely. Serena frowned slightly. She was just joking? She had no idea what had gotten into him. Glancing at the timer, she noticed she still had a while to go so she decided to focus on Siege for the moment.

Without a second's hesitation, Serena stepped closer to the boy. Her hand fell onto his shoulder, gently touching him as she called out to him, "Siege?" She said, her tone of voice starting to show her concern for the boy, "Hey- are you okay?" She asked him softly as she tried to break his intense stare by leaning forward slightly. Peeking around his arm, she looked up at the boy, "What's wrong?" Serena asked, completely clueless of the situation. Her bright eyes looked up at him, blinking in confusion and worry. The girl was starting to feel really bad... did she do something wrong? Oh God, don't make her cry.

"Hey- are you okay?" The girl voiced her concern, though now out of her drama queen phase. "What's wrong" The same dastardly sweet voice that she had, now penetrated Siege's skull like his fist did for many of his enemies before Hogwarts. Her goddamn hand was on his shoulder...Yeah it was wasn't it?...Yeah...S**t!, why the hell is her hand there? Uh-oh, crap I'm supposed to be telling the story here...erm...So anyways...

The boy flinched when touched by the girl's soft hand, he had felt them before, but now it was as if he had been inside every single vein in his body, and could feel every pattern on her fingers and palm.
His gaze, in turn, penetrated the crimson-red potion, that seemed to turn darker by the minute. It changed a shade of red, into a darker one...What the hell was going on? Then it came...the bubbles...

One came...then two...then three...then a whole group...then the whole pot was bubbling...Something was on fire...what was it? Was it the fire underneath the cauldron? No...it can't be...he remembered turning it off earlier...the boy looked down...the heat wasn't coming from the cauldron...no...it was his fist...His right that held the cauldron turned the potion into dark red, an obvious sign of overcooking...And his left...well it was balled into a fist and steaming...

*Yeah, I definitely have cancer...Or some other disease, but right now I'm feeling cancer...What the hell is this....*

Serena peered into the taller boy's face. He didn't look well. She had no idea what had happened to him. He was fine a few minutes ago. Perhaps there something wrong with the potion? Maybe it had created an aroma in the air that was affecting him or making him feel sick. The boy didn't say anything in reply to her questions... He didn't even look at her or acknowledge that she was there. Was it her? Did she do something? The girl's eyes started to water a little. There was no explanation for the sudden drastic turn in his behaviour. Admittedly, Serena was starting to get used to his random outbreaks - they had met a couple of times before and he always seemed to do something strange. However... this was different. He never ignored her in this way. Was he... upset about something?

Honestly, Serena was just guessing here. Blinking several times, she tried to control her emotions. She really did not want to cry in front of him and the whole class in their first week. How stupid would she look? She tried hard to stop her eyes from watering but they had definitely turned shiny. "... Siege...?" She said softly, her voice breaking slightly, "Wha- what's wrong? Hey- you're okay, right?" Serena continued to probe him, trying to figure what happened to him.

She really couldn't tell if he was upset with her or felt sick or something. "Siege?" She tried again, the worry oozing out of her voice. The Hufflepuff had no idea what to do. She was so busy staring at his face and trying to get his attention that she missed the fact that his fist was steaming. Serena's hand, which was still on his shoulder, gently shook him slightly trying to get his attention, "Hey- please say something." She whispered softly, almost begging him to speak, "Are you hurt? Are you feeling unwell?" She just wanted to help him and she had no idea what to do.

The girl was particularly worried about him because she recalled their previous class together. He seemed to have some magical powers that he couldn't control. She had thought about it a lot after the day, though she hadn't had the chance to ask him about it. Perhaps this was related to that... He managed to burn himself the last time.

The worry that flooded through her body made it hard to think. She just wanted a reaction from him, "What's wrong..." She whispered under her breathe, probably inaudible to Siege too but her voice was breaking and she was on the verge of crying. Her mind raced, trying to figure out what could be wrong with him. In all of the times she had met the boy, silence was never something that she had expected. He would tell her if he was mad or upset, surely. He would react - even if it was to punch her again! But this... something was wrong with him. He wasn't okay... Without thinking about it, Serena's other hand reached out for Siege's cheek, on the other side so she could gently turn his head towards her.

The girl's soft touch burned on his cheek, as he was forced to watch her face, almost on the verge of tears.

*Why...why is she about to cry?...Should I...comfort her?...Why would I even think about comforting her in the first place?...I've gotta see some professional about this... Maybe the nurse, or one of the teachers can tell me...What kind of weird disease I have...*

His eyes, darted from place to place on her facial features. It was as if his eyes have become individual microscopes, able to see what the native eye cannot.
Without meaning to, his hands began to cool down, and without thinking, his right arm left the once-boiling cauldron, and held her shoulder. For some reason his clarity was back, and he didn't feel anything weird now...No strange words...No strange panicking...All he saw in front of him was Serena about to cry.

*What?! Why the hell is she about to cry? Did I do something? Did she do something? Did we do something?...Gotta stop this before a new headline in the news appears...Something like "Boy charged with Assault During Potions Class" something like that...Crap can't have that happening...Uhm...Ah okay I'll do this...*

Siege leaned in closer, although not too close, to try and calm the girl down from crying. He did not want her to cry, because it'll land him in serious trouble...plus...some thoughts might come back...And he did not want that...

"Calm down...Don't cry...It's a bad look on me and you if you do..." Said Siege, flashing her another one of his troublesome smiles, hoping that it'd be enough to quell her tears.

Overthinking was perhaps her biggest flaw. She would worry about something small and it would just gradually build up. Every tiny little detail fed into her worry. It was like she was a cauldron and every single second he ignored her, someone poured in a ton of worry and some ingredients of tension. She had convinced herself that something was wrong with him. The Hufflepuff had seen his fist randomly burst into flames, she had witness burn marks and scars on his body. There was a lot of random little things she knew about him - or knew bits of but not enough details.

The lack of details made it all worse. She would overthink it all and worry that the worst possible thing might happen. Perhaps he had some sort of illness or he was psychologically traumatised from all of the injuries. It could be stress or trauma from an assault or something. She had seen the scars - but knew nothing of where they came from. So she worried even more about him than she would have normally. Maybe something had happened now to remind him of something awful - which is why he was stunned into silence.

Siege had been quiet for too long. And it pained her. The girl was starting to feel a bit hopeless, unsure of what to do and how to make sure he was okay. The panic and worry was just surging through her body. She looked up at him as she suddenly felt his arm on her shoulder, inhaling audible as she did. It was the first time he had actual acknowledge or responded in some way for a while. Perhaps her voice was finally getting through to him, "Siege... Ar-are y-you ok-ay?" She whispered softly, her voice shaking slightly as she tried not to cry. She sniffled slightly, as her eyes were still watered and her body was on the verge of producing tears.

The boy's words hit her ears just as her gaze fell onto that notorious smile of his. It was a smile she recognised instantly and associated him with. That troublesome look. When he was like that, he was usually okay. Whatever it was... perhaps it had passed. Serena sniffed a little, before suddenly moving both her hands. Relief surged through her body as she realised that he was okay - at least now. Whatever it was, might have passed. She didn't understand what it was but he was okay, right now. Ad that was all that mattered. The girl thought of him as one of her few friends. Probably a really good friend, despite the fact that they hadn't even known each other for that long. So she was super relieved.

She lifted her hands off his shoulder and cheek, threw them underneath his arms and hugged him. Her brain wasn't actually aware of her behaviour, she was just reacting on instinct. She hugged him whilst probably using his shirt to help soak up her tears as she sniffed a little. "You idiot..." She whispered softly into his chest, calling him names out of affection more than anything else, "Don't do that to me. Don't scare me like that." She continued, finally starting to feel a lot better now that she was relieved.

"Siege...Ar-are y-you ok?" Asked the puff, small tears fell down her face, although not even noticeable. Her soft and breaking voice, as Siege put his hand on his shoulder, as if to reassure her that things were going to be ok. That was a strange thing to do...He's never reassured anyone...He didn't feel right...It didn't feel right...at least to him...

"I'm fine...And what'd I tell you about crying?" Teased Siege, hoping that it would stop the small streaks of tears running down her face, unfortunately, it did not.

The girl suddenly removed her hand from his cheek, and threw both of her arms beneath his, and started squeezing him. Ahem...hugging I mean...Anyways, she hugged him tightly, and tighter softly sniffling and soaking his shirt with her tears.

"You idiot...Don't do that to me. Don't scare me like that." The girl's relieved, yet still-broken up voice, entered Siege's mind, inciting another feeling that he never usually gets; Guilt. It was bad enough that he was concerned for her, now he feels guilty, as if he had done something wrong...It was strange for him...Almost foreign even...

"Don't worry...I won't..." The words escaped Siege's mouth, without him meaning to. The next thing he knew, his right hand was stroking her hair, hoping to calm her down...He had a cat once, and the cat always liked it when he did that...He wasn't sure how Serena would react, but he hoped that she'd calm down too...
