Ravenclaw v Slytherin Quidditch Game Finished

She had caught him. Alexx had actually caught him. Well, Alexx was strong, after all. She might not have looked it, but in all her glory, she was more than capable.

"Alright there, Dan?" She asked. "Sorry, we've got no time to get your broom back now. Gotta go fast. No time for chit-chat. Do your thing, Danny boy." That was all she had. A pep talk and the ability to fly. And Merlin willing, Alexx was going to fly. She turned her head in the direction of Dan. "If you know where that bloody thing is, now would be an excellent time to tell someone, preferably the person steering the broom."

All that Alexx could do was assist Dan. She needed her team to win. Wherever Dan might tell her to go, she would take him. She was already flying, going as she spoke to him. This wouldn't be easy. She would need for someone to help her out, otherwise... Well, otherwise this would be nearly impossible, and she wasn't a fan of the idea of her trying to chuck Dan into the air and hope for the best. Whatever happened, it needed to happen fast. Faster than Ravenclaw. Faster than their Seeker. Faster than their team. Alexx needed for this to happen fast.

Dan had no idea which one of the bastard Ravenclaws did it, but one of them knocked him from his broom. The boy braced himself for a splat, until he was caught, and hauled up on another broom. He looked behind him, and saw that it was Alexx.

"Alright there, Dan?" She asked. "Sorry, we've got no time to get your broom back now. Gotta go fast. No time for chit-chat. Do your thing, Danny boy."

To be fair, his shoulder hurt like hell. But Alexx was right, this is not the time.

"If you know where that bloody thing is, now would be an excellent time to tell someone, preferably the person steering the broom."

"Yeah, thanks for the save. The snitch-"
Dan still hadn't lost sight of it.
"-Is over there." Dan pointed. "FULL SPEED!!"

Hopefully the others had a contingency plan. In the meantime, he'd continue and do his job.

With a small frown, Elijah watched as Dan missed the snitch and Arc scored against Slytherin- how awful! Their supposed game-winning plan wasn't so game-winning, after all. What a pity it hadn't worked- and how wonderful it would've been if it had. Ravenclaw had scored against them, and Dan didn't have the snitch. This was, quite possibly, the worst-case scenario, what with Dan and Alexx now sharing a broom and Arc scoring on the unattended goals. Cursing himself, he flew back around to the goalposts, glaring fiercely at all the Ravenclaw Quidditch players who wandered into his line of sight. 

Glancing at Alexx, sharing a broom with Dan, and Elena, who seemed so confident in all of her decisions and in the team itself. Whatever- if the deed got done, it didn't matter how they got to their victory. The ends would justify the means.

Things were not going well. Slytherins were sharing brooms, off their brooms, and they still didn't have the snitch. They were scored against another time and were being beaten down by these Ravenclaws. A scowl appeared on Ruby's face. They simply couldn't lose. That was not an option.

She was also frustrated with herself. Frustrated that she was failing in her attempts to get the Quaffle, frustrated that she wasn't really helping much and hadn't since her first goal. But there was always another chance, another opportunity to prove herself. She would try again, hoping that this time she could finally succeed and make something happen. She also hoped that her teammate would be able to get the Snitch before the Ravenclaw seeker did.

Finally, a direct hit! Amanda grinned triumphantly as the opposing seeker, Dan, was knocked off of his broom. Things were now looking up for the Ravenclaw team... but oh. Alexx had managed to save Dan and get him onto her broom. It was still a victory, Amanda reminded herself, but not a full one. But her team was ahead in points, so that was a plus.
I hope I can get another hit, she thought as she zoomed on her broom towards a bludger, bat in one hand. She came to a halt as the bludger rushed towards her and hit it with as much force as she could muster towards her next target.

@Cecily Quinn would make her way around the area, the penalty feeling like an eternity as the climax of the game was ongoing just feet away from her.

It was go time.

@Hengist Warbeck abandoned his rings and went for the quaffle. One more chance to score was perhaps his reasoning as he rushed the quaffle. The only other student going for the quaffle was @Ruby Cazares.

Ruby grabbed hold of the quaffle and she rushed back towards the Ravenclaw rings. Hengist in hot pursuit but unfortunately unable to catch up to the speedy little girl as she lobbed the quaffle through the rings scoring for House Slytherin in the process. The crowd would scream out in encouragement, but there was a lacing of heckles from those that supported House Ravenclaw as the moist crowd began to get unruly.

Lucky for @Elijah Huang, he was out of the excitement for the moment. His fragile body safe, his team's rings secure.

@Warren Kirkland was just not moving, he was simply hovering there in the middle of the field letting bludgers pass him by. Perhaps he was having a PTSD flashback where he was recalling some terrible incident that had to do with bludgers or he just remembered that he was terrified of heights and should not be up there at all. Warren was called off the field, while undamaged he was a liability out in the storm as the howling sings and the pouring rains threatened the game. @Geoffrey Ryan was called into the game to replace the catatonic youth that would be brought to the medical wing for evaluation.

@River Dewlight knew just where that snitch was. She was also in danger, she had identified the location of the snitch and therefore she was a target. @Arc Perscivious would escort her, protecting her with his body if he had to. @Lavinia Cloven ready to save either of them if they would ultimately fall. She would have to move quickly, Slytherin's Seeker, Dan was already on his way there on that shared broom. It was quite the sight and River would need to get there quickly if there was any chance of her getting that snitch before either of them. @Emma Hill would grab hold of River's hand and spin her about, the centrifugal force like that of a carnival ride as the Beater spun the Seeker about once... twice.... thrice... she relinquished her grip and sent River flying in the direction of that snitch.

Of course Geoffrey was not doing a whole lot of anything either (he plays the narrators IC brother and we have known each other for years, I messaged him with this since he is well past the deadline for posting to give him a reason for not entering) but he was at the very least still in good health. His priorities were just in the wrong place. He was flirting with a pretty young thing, well... a few pretty young things that were spectating the game. He ignored being called into the game, rather locking lips with some interested guy/girl. Geoffrey was supposed to Alley Oop Dan and Alexx towards the snitch, but without the Slytherin boy's help they were on their own.

@Dan Palmer and @Alexx Séverin would fly out to the last place where they recalled seeing the snitch before that fragile boy was knocked from his broom.

However, their journey would be perilous. The Ravenclaw Beaters had a two-fer with the duo riding the same broom. @Amanda Sparrow and @Angelica Rowley would take aim and slap their respective bludgers in the direction of the speeding pair.

A loud pair of *CRACKS* could be heard as their bats impacted the hard spheres and sent them spinning in Alex and Dan's direction.

While Angellica's bludger whizzed past them, the same coule not be said of Amanda's. The bludger would hit the both in the side. Dan, still badly damaged by the previous assault was no match for the brute force of the second year Ravenclaw and he was knocked from the broom. The snich was so close. It was not that far away, Dan would reach out and try to grab the snitch while Alexx maneuvered across the rainy field. The blow would hit Dan hard as he tried to grab the snitch and then fell. Alexx was much more durable (8) and she was just able to hang on as Amanda's brutal blow (7) nearly knocked the girl from her broom. The broom-shaft itself was slick and hard to grip but she would somehow endeavor to endure only to see poor Dan headed for the ground once again.

Dan would curl his fingers around that unruly golden snitch. It would buzz violently in his hand and try to break free. He had it, he finally had it! The golden snitch. He was also plummeting towards the ground. His short life would likely flash before his eyes.

Then his soggy savior @Elena Jones would come for him. She would dive down, impossibly close to the ground with incredible speed and by luck or perhaps providence she would catch the Seeker on the shaft of her broom. Safe.

A whistle would blow. The game was over. Using the amplification charm a loud voice would boom. "Dan Palmer has caught the snitch. TEAM SLYTHERIN!" Something witty was intended to follow, some theatrics perhaps but the crowd erupted into applause.

"Felicitations to Slytherin," Solomon would comment, his words potentially lost beneath the cries of the audience. The blood, the loss, the drama and the near loss at more than one point for Slytherin made their victory even more sweet. Of course Solomon was more concerned about the muddied new patients that would be spending time in the hospital wing recovering. It was 'successful', nobody died. Not that he wanted someone to die but he just had a terrible feeling about this. Quidditch was dangerous, barred despite its popularity for some time. He was not in favor of its return but even a man such as Solomon was burdened by popular public opinion.
