Serena is in unit 17, Hugh is in unit 21. The range for Relashio is 3, making Hugh out of range.

Hugh easily maintains Lumos.

Serena attempts to cast Relashio at Hugh, but he is out of range.

With almost half the racers on the track, this let their be less actions as well. Hugh managed to maintain his perfectly cast Lumos with ease, while it appeared Serena prepared to cast a spell that never came, perhaps due to her realization that she was simply too far away. Regardless, this race was getting down to the wire, and it was only a matter of time to see who won.

Xailah and Simon both hit one tree.

George starts the round here.

Xailah and Simon were both in it to win it, both shooting through the wooded land. Simon was moving a bit slower, attempting to miss less trees, but his still managed to hit one almost head on. While Xailah was rather skilled, that wouldn't prevent her broom from beginning to wiggle violently, and she too managed to scrape the side of a branch.

"Both Alptraum and Kincaid are on the move folks, just look at them speed through the trees! Oooh, looks like the both took a scrape!"

Unit 17: Easy Snowfall (StaDC 12)

Both Simon and George batch Xailah here. Due to her broom ability, she is able to auto dodge one attack every three rounds. Tatsu decided that she autododged Simons blatch.

While the Hufflepuffs may not have begun with attacks, they seemed to have decided that blatching was much, much better. Both Simon and George decided that Xailah was evenmoreso a threat in the sky than when she was on the ground, and both had a go at blatching her after they sailed with ease through the snow. Simon missed outright; it almost seemed as if her broom sensed it coming. George was more fortunate, and he careened into Xailah with precision, sending her to the ground once again.

"Wouldya look at that? Xailah is taken down once again! The Hufflepuff's really want to keep her on the ground!"

Unit 18: Easy Bright Light (StaDC 13)

Serena Towers: [d20:2] + 13 = 15 Success

Serena was back on the move once again, sailing easily past the bright reflections that managed to blind some of the others.

Unit 20: Empty - On Fire

Serena has 30% chance to catch on fire (1-3 success): [d10:3] Success

Flames were simply difficult to dodge, and Serena would find herself on fire now due to the younger Gryffindors cast.

Unit 21: Empty
Jack and Hugh start the round here.

Unit 22: Easy Narrow Passage [ADC 14]

Hugh runs into the passage.

Damage: 5x10 = 50 * .8 (Part-Giant) = 40 Damage

Hufflepuff's Jack Warren and Gryffindor's Hugh Lowe were neck and neck, both trying to win for their team. Both of them sped through the passage ahead of them, but Hugh's lack of vision certainly wasn't helping him here, only his extremely bright Lumos helping him slightly, but he still managed to scrape across the side of the cavern wall.

Due to Jack becoming snared, he is now unable to blatch Hugh.

Hugh would shoot forth through the passage prior, his blindfold proudly still atop his face and his lumps bright, directly into the den of the devils snare. But he was prepared, his Lumos shining ever so brightly so that the vines wouldn't even dare grab him. Jack, on the other hand, maintained no such thing, and due to a miscalculation in flying, he almost flew straight into the devils snare. They wrapped tightly around him, certainly foiling his plans to take down a certain part-giant who was now racing ahead, unopposed.

"I think Gryffindors should be getting excited just about now, it looks like Lowe managed to make it though not just the tunnel, but he wasn't even touched by the Devil's Snare! Looks like Warren wasn't so fortunate, he's tangled up with them now, fighting them to release him. Can Lowe make it through the last few units?"

Unit 24: Moderate Narrow Passage [ADC 19]

Hugh runs into the passage.

Damage: 5x10 = 50 * .8 (Part-Giant) = 40 Damage

Hugh scraped right by the sides of yet another passage that led out of the Devil's Snare cavern, but who could blame him when he was totally blindfolded? This meant, however, that it was entirely smooth sailing through the last unit and to the finish line, which Hugh would cross. He was battered, bloodied, and blindfolded, but he had won it for Gryffindor.

"And... wait, Hugh is still moving! He's coming out from the cavern! Here he comes, right across the finish, still blindfolded! Can you believe it? GRYFFINDOR WINS!" Starlee would yell out to the crowd.
