Alexei smiled brightly and winked at Ariana's use of Russian. She was definitely one to pursue in the twenty days that he was here. Stunningly beautiful and smart? "Someone as pretty as you, Miss Ariana, cannot be something other than an angel," he said in reply. An odd but intriguing response to his words. She was definitely his type.

Lizzie had a similar response, but she somehow seemed less charmed by his words. That was almost as though she was actively trying not to be charmed by him. Now why on Earth would a girl do that? He was very charming! Girls loved being wooed by him. They didn't love what came after, aka him getting bored and somewhat brutally moving on, but this girl couldn't have known about that.

One of the redheads(Rose) seemed to be intimidated by all of the flock of girls that had gathered around him and took her leave. Pity, but he was still perfectly happy, seeing as he was still surrounded by the ladies.

Another girl joined the group and Alexei had to do a double take. It was none other than one Anastasia BeckettIt's not! That was mildly awkward, seeing as she'd walked up to him flirting with a group of girls and the last time they had spoken, he had nearly kissed her. Still, that had been months ago, and they had exchanged several letters since then. However, he would be lying if he said he wasn't still somewhat romantically interested in the brunette. He could have sworn she was quite a bit taller though. And that her eyes were a deep brown, not grey. Her voice was sounded a bit younger than he remembered and something about the accent seemed off. Normally, he was excellent with remember exactly what pretty girls looked and sounded like. Still, he supposed it had been a bit since they had seen one another and maybe his memory had blurred. "Anastasia! How lovely to see you again, darling! How have you been? Why didn't you write me and say that you were coming?" he said brightly. Her Russian had been pretty decent for an Brit, and he was sure she would perfectly be able to understand his greeting. He still found it odd that she hadn't mentioned it in her letter that he had received earlier that very same day. Come to think of it, she had demanded to know who he was. That was certainly odd, but something he'd liked about Anastasia was her somewhat different sense of humor.
Italics are Russian.

Long story short, I survived

Iris turned away when the boy she had waved to didn't spot her. It was fine, really, there was so much noise around and so much going on that she wasn't suprised in the least.

Iris managed a confidant pose, even when the world around her exploded into conversations and chatter. People walked past without a spare glance. It was an odd change to her normal center of attention position, but she wasn't really hating it. There were a bunch of people Iris didn't recognize, probably from Durmstrang or Hogwarts. She had to admit that it was weird seeing so many different people and not having any talking to her. It was like everything she had worked towards in becoming popular was for nothing when she was here.

There were plenty of things a girl like her could do to get more attention. She could easily join in any conversation and get to the position of leading, but she really didn't feel like it and was already getting cold in her shorts. She was too far away from the fire. As people began to block her way, Iris sighed she was starting to get a bit of a want to talk to someone.

Iris tilted her head to the side, letting her hair cover most of her face before blowing it away. The whole feat would seem casual, but the movement might catch the attention of someone. At least, that was her hope. She was a bit hungry, but she was trying to loose weight and nothing here was up to her standards anyway. She wasn't really sure why she was here.

Iris would begin smiling at anyone who past, probably tilting her head to the empty space beside her. Hopefully someone would get the hint.

Katrina came to the dinner late. Already the sun was setting and the party was in full swing. She was going to meet people. That was the only reason she had really showed up anyway. Her tent was plenty cozy, Bridget had picked the perfect one for the quiet introvert and her kitten, but she had decided it was due time that she talked to other people.

Katrina wove through the crowd, noting the fact that there were three main conversations and they all seemed to be pretty closed off. Private, one might say. It seemed most of the Ilvermorney students were far more... forward, than the Hogwarts. She saw plenty of winking and flirting that sort of put the girl off guard. It was simply something she wasn't used to.

Katrina walked up to a little group of people, standing on the side and waiting for a better opportunity to jump in. There were two students that Katrina assumed were from another schools since she had no recognition of either of them.

"You're from Durmstreng? And you're from Ilvermorney I assume? I'm Katrina Walker from Hogwarts, hope you don't mind my interrupting?" Katrina addressed the boy first and the girl second. She bit her lip and smiled, albeit awkwardly. There's no better way to join a conversation then ram your way in, right?

Well, she wasn't dead, so that was a plus. Apparently the raw meat eating boy, whose name turned out to be Howard, was from Hogwarts. Oops. She probably should have guessed that from the accent. Howard stood up. Phyllis wasn't a short girl, but he was still at least a head taller than her. She couldn't deny that it was a little intimidating, but she would be fine! He didn't make a move to attack, instead heading towards the barbeque. So maybe he didn't really like raw meat that much after all? Or maybe he just didn't want to talk. Which was okay. People who didn't want to talk were no fun to have a conversation with anyway. But then he asked her if she was coming or not, which was an invitation to come, right? "Yup! I'm coming." It looked like the poor 4th year would be stuck with her for a while still.

Another boy then walked up to them, this one taller than her as well. Paying attention to accents this time, it seemed like he was from Durmstrang. "I'm Phyllis." She was about to add on her school, but then again, accents. He'd be able to tell she went to the American school. The new arrivals didn't stop there. This time it was a girl her age who looked like Nichlas and seemed to be his younger sister. "Hey! My name's Phyllis." All the introductions were getting a bit tedious. That was one thing she'd hated about the dinner parties she had back when she lived in London--you had to give out your name. Over and over and over again. You could hardly ever get to any sort of interesting conversation that way, not that any of the guests seemed capable of talking about anything that wasn't boring.

One more girl made her way over, another from Hogwarts. She stuttered a lot and offered Howard a burger. "He likes raw meat," she stated. Such eloquent first words. A bit blunt, too, considering she already seemed pretty nervous, but the redhead wasn't the best at noticing that kind of thing. Turning to the three of them, the girl worried over not getting anything for them. Phyllis wrinkled her nose when she called them Howard's friends. "We kinda just met so I'm not sure we're really friends yet. And it's fine, I can get my own burger." She offered the girl a smile. "My name's Phyllis, glad to meet you."

Words that Vyacheslav says that are in italics are in Russian.
Vyacheslav lay sprawled on his bed, humming softly and idly tossing a ball in the air and catching it in one hand when it fell. Magic was cool and all, and he had grown up with it being an integral part of his household, but he also thought Muggle sports were pretty neat. Quidditch was still better than any of those could ever be, yet he had all kinds of sports equipment lying around his room and would pester his brother, Maksim, whenever he learned about another Muggle game.

His brother suddenly nudged him and Slava's head spun to face him. He was unable to catch the ball that time and it bounced off of his arm and onto Maksim's head. “Headshot!” he yelled, grinning obnoxiously. He was so caught up in this that he failed to notice that Maksim had managed to catch the ball after it hit him, and that he was now hurling it back at Slava in full force. It whacked him in the stomach and Slava frowned, rubbing the injured spot with a look of pure shock and betrayal. He proceeded to attempt to slug his brother in the arm before finally responding to the suggestion. “Food? Sounds great, I'm in.” He followed Maksim and the smells out of the tent.

They arrived in a crowded area, with food that smelled delicious and many people engaged in conversation. He hadn't had a chance to talk to many students outside of his tentmates in the couple of days that they'd been there—whether that was finding pretty girls or just people to hang out and cause trouble with. However, there was one person that he had met. His nemesis! She was great. He turned to his brother. “I think it's a communal area? And if we're lost, it's hardly bad with these girls…” He followed Maksim's eyes. There were certainly a lot of them, and the unfamiliarity perhaps made them seem even more attractive.

There were a lot of languages spoken at Durmstrang, but it was strange to hear so many people speaking in English and with their accents. There were many different types of British accents, but he didn't know what they were or which region they belonged to. “I'm glad we've had enough practice with English, it seems that we'll definitely be needing it. And you mean men like you? The girls would never be interested.” He stuck his tongue out teasingly. “I'm kidding, I'm sure they'll like you no matter what. The accent's probably a bonus, yeah.”

They headed for the food and Slava noticed Alexei a short distance away, surrounded by girls. He snorted. “You'd better move quickly, Max. Alexei's stealing all the girls for once and you'll have none of them if you're not careful.” It surprised Slava that Alexei had managed to charm that many females, or at least that fast. Sure, the boy liked them, but most girls back at Durmstrang tended to avoid him by now. Maybe the Hogwarts girls' lack of knowledge of Alexei had given him a fresh start. At least Alexei was a good and loyal friend. He wasn't sure he could say the same for the boy's relationships, but that wasn't really his business, nor did he particularly care.

"Uh, I would like my... meat to be... medium-rare? I do not know how to say medium-rare in English... A bit pink! A little bit pink on the inside." He heard Maksim say to the man at the grill. The man responded with a word that sounded unlike anything Slava had heard in English before. The boy glanced back at Maksim with a look of slight horror. What was he saying? Then, the man said new words—"medium rare"—before saying "got it." Phew. He was glad that his brother could work around language barriers. “I would like that as well, sir, please? Thank you!”

A curious girl asked Maksim if he was from Durmstrang. The question wasn't directed at Slava, but did he care? No. “Yes, we are from Durmstrang! You are from Hogwarts?” He was aware that there was another school here, Ilvermorny, but the girl didn't seem like she was from that one. She would have had to be American. He took a proper look at her and realised that her appearance was rather striking. Very pale skin contrasted with jet black hair that was slightly curly, as well as with her deep blue eyes and blood red lips.

Then, Maksim was calling him loudly, waving like a madman. He chuckled, but walked over. “What kind of soda? And which girl? They all look pretty to me.”
Permission to godmod Maksim was granted.

Please ignore the girl, she looks nothing like Lucia
The two Heads of Houses didn't seem to be wrapping up their talks any time soon, so Lucia gave up and made her way over to the drinks table instead, for want of anything else to do. There, she found the two dark-haired boys from earlier, of whom she had asked their school. Though the one she had actually directed her question at hadn't answered, his companion had - it seemed that the boys did come from Durmstrang after all. The boy had then asked if Lucia had come from Hogwarts, but before she could answer he had been called away by his friend.
The boys were now standing at the drinks table, choosing some fizzy drinks.
Lucia herself had never liked fizzy drinks, preferring water or juice, but lots of people did.
"Oh, hello again," she said to them as she drew closer, then turned to the boy with the curly mop of dark hair and freckles, who was saying something in another language - Russian maybe? "You, uh, asked if I went to Hogwarts?"
Smiling slightly, she gestured towards her yellow and white checked t-shirt. "Yup."
The girl almost added, 'The one that's going to win, yes,' but thought that maybe it was a bit too soon to open hostilities. She didn't yet know how these boys would take it.
Holding her hand out to them - the one that wasn't holding the kebab - so they could both shake it, she introduced herself. "I'm Lucia. Fox." She added as an afterthought, remembering that most Durmstrang students liked pure bloodlines - although whether they would have heard of her family from wherever they came from she wasn't sure.

Milena was about to choose some unsweetened iced tea – she didn’t drink a lot of sweet drinks, so she wasn’t sure if she would’ve liked a sweetened iced tea, and ‘some different soda’s’ wasn’t that helpful in figuring out what was available, to be honest. – when Professor Gare(?)’s face suddenly turned mischievous and the professor waved her and someone else closer.

Stepping closer, she couldn’t help but arch a brow as the professor offered to break into what seemed to be special stuff for later ahead of time. A bit surprised – such an attitude was not exactly something she was used to from Durmstrang – Milena watched as the professor disappeared behind the stand.

Was the other girl [Saskia] that had approached them upon being waved closer, really teasing a teacher? Milena was half-sure she must have misunderstood the words or the tone. Teasing a teacher seemed inconceivable. She almost expected the teacher to assign detention. Still, despite her disbelief, it was only polite to greet the possible-Hogwarts student, so Milena gave her a slight smile and a friendly “Hello.”

Seeing as the girl had chosen the left, Milena just went along with it and chose the remaining side. “I will take the right side, then.” Despite the – to her – strange situation she found herself in, Milena was also quite curious to see what exactly the professor was trying to surprise them with, though she hid her thoughts behind her go-to neutral, almost aloof facial expression.

The sun was setting and Wish made his way down to the barbecue. He saw a bunch of tables Wish everything they needed to eat! There was everything, Vegan options, vegetarian food, and the one that interested Wish the most: Meat. There were small place cards to say what was in each section. Wish got a skewer stick and put some sliced steak, lettuce, and turkey meat on it. He brought it to his head of house Caradoc Browne. A few minutes later he returned it to Wish with a smile, Wish returned it and went to sit down. Before he sat down though, Wish decided to explore, He recognised so many people here! There was a giant barrel and on each side of the giant barrel there was metal plates which red: Barrelcue. Wish went over to the drink stand where Professor Karr was standing, Wish waved to the Professor and kept on walking. He soon came to a place near a Hufflepuff banner was and sat down, there wasn’t much people in this area, which was better. Wish looked around and watched the sun set over the hills. It was a beautiful sight, the barbecue, and Wish loved every minute of it.

Rose was just standing there, minding her own business (okay and maybe Eyre's because he was sunburnt and she wanted to help), when a girl intentionally spilled her punch all over Rose's sweater. Rose jumped back in shock. Good thing she was wearing something under her sweater. Rose took her sweater off and tied it around her waist, revealing the tank top she had underneath.
Wait... Something was familiar about this situation... How a liquid got spilled all over her but she had a shirt underneath her dark red sweater. She didn't want to wash the sweater again, but oh well. Something was familiar about that girl that just spilled punch all over her. And something was familiar about those bunny slippers.
Then Rose remembered. This girl was the girl she had bumped into, which caused her to then spill hot chocolate all over herself. The girl had jumped back and not gotten any over her white nightgown, but it seemed that she wanted revenge. And she got it. Forcing her lip to not curl, she shot a scorching look at the girl and moved away from her, rotating herself around Eyre. "Anyway..." she took a deep breath through her teeth and then pushed her burning anger down.

Eyre was doing better for himself, sipping on some water in the shade with Rose when punch was poured all over her. "Oh Merlin, are you okay!?" He asked, as she pulled off her sweater. Rose looked pissed, shooting a look at the girl before turning herself towards him. He wondered if the punch girl had done it on purpose. He'd learned over the year that some girls were so petty. Granted, boys weren't any different at times. He'd be lying if he said that he hadn't been petty himself, especially recently. Summer had made him strangely broody, as he counted down the days to coming home to the Manor and his inevitable doom. But, he didn't have to think of that right now.

"Anyway..." Rose said, clearly trying to keep herself calm after being doused. Eyre pat the ground.

"Here, sit..." He said. "...Sorry, I was zoning out. I'm from Gryffindor, too. I'm surprised that I haven't seen you round. Were you at the sleepover, by any chance?" He asked, still sipping on his water. He'd met a lot of people that he hadn't met before at the sleepover, and it was truly a turning point for him. Since the sleepover he'd felt more confident in his own skin. (Not just because of his first kiss, but because he knew that he could function at social events and actually really like it.)

one morning this sadness will fossilize and i will forget how to cry. ☆

Caradoc waved his hand towards the prefect, telling her he did not need her second burger. In fact, he wasn't even that hungry. He had only come to apologise in his own way. Quirking his eyebrow at the Gryffindor girl, he could only shake his head and turn to Nora. She, in turn, was enjoying this far too much. He could tell. His eyes would flare up towards her for just a second as he noticed the smirk playing on her lips. Shaking his head ever so slightly at his Slytherin counterpart, he'd purse his lips in refusing to grace her with a comment. If she wanted to enjoy the moment, then fine. She could have it. His eyes fell back upon the Gryffindor prefect. "Her hair's braided usually." Turning his head back to the professor. "I had never seen it loose like this before, I believe."

"I'm actually not that hungry." He admitted in truth. "I just came to say..." He looked between Meenauh and Nora. Realising the subject must have just felt weird to the prefect if she'd know, he left it out. "Well, to apologise for what I said." He wiggled his nose again as he seemed to be thinking on what he would say. Taking a deep breath, nothing else would come from him. All he felt like doing was just stealing glances from her. Though he needed to stay professional. Straightening his posture a bit and smiling gently at the pair, he took a small bite from some cucumber and placed it back on the oddly stacked vegetables on his plate before nodding back from where he had come.

"I'd better get some more of those on the grill then. I'm sure others will like them as well." Without much more to add to the matter, the man would quickly turn heel and make a beeline for the barbecue once more. What on earth was wrong with him. Ask for a burger but not get one? Shaking his head wildly, he cursed to himself as he walked back to his position. A fool.

There wasn't much time for him to keep reflecting over and over on how he made himself look like an idiot again. The constant stream of entering student would surely keep him occupied. Student would find the Head of Hufflepuff a bit distracted today however. Though the ever familiar grin would always be present. Couldn't have people think there was something off right? The man had meant for this to be a crazy happy event. It soon would be, he was sure of that.

Yet the matter Nora had used as a joke somehow stuck with him. There was of course his own child. Was that perhaps something that bothered her? He violently tried to shake himself inside his mind. Why would he even feel she'd be thinking about that? What mattered is that he got to see the little one again. Though he knew he had to prepare himself for incoming questions. She had got too good at extracting information from him. His mind drifted off to where she would be now. Caradoc knew he was meant to go get her at his parents' house. And he also knew they had planned a family dinner that night. They'd all be there, something he was not yet sure off whether he would be able to handle that again.

He wondered what family Nora had. His head turned back to her direction. As if he needed to see her in order to find the answer. He knew she still had a mother. But from what he understood, she would hardly have a child left in that woman's care. So he figured she would likely choose to another option. The Head of Hufflepuff quickly came to the conclusion that it would likely mean she'd have to leave Hogwarts. Parenting was not a job that would align easily with their profession. While 'nora was a little older by now, he would be the first to admit there had been some sacrifices along the road.

There was also the fact she would be with him in September. Something that still got him fed up with this whole situation. How was he supposed to expect her to be safe there? And what kind of hypocrite would he be to allow other children to still come and not his daughter? Would he send them all home? Why didn't he? Perhaps it was the insufferable stubborn voice in his head that told him he could fix things. Or maybe he was just being naive. Either way, there was still a lot more work to be done inside the castle. His eyes grew sad once he realised there was no way of predicting if he'd ever make it to that family dinner. Perhaps he ought to send a letter tonight, just to be sure.

If you're reading this... You're awesome.
