Errand: Culminated Culture

With the local performances complete, Tenūsa visitors are invited to bring a flavour of their own culture to the stage in Omah Geni. This errand is all about showing a little bit about what makes your character special in how they've been raised. You may choose to celebrate the culture of your characters home, ethnicity, family or anything else in a variety of ways. Through music, dance, poetry, art, and even cooking, there is a whole range of options that will develop your character background, and maybe even teach you something about them you never knew.

Reach for the Stars

Uagadou has always been the school of stars and dreams. Today, the headmaster intends to share this philosophy with the rest of the world through three writing activities for students of all schools and their staff members. Participants are encouraged to keep these works or share them with others to remind themselves of the beauty of hope and nighttime.

Discord Pruning Notice

Some of you may have noticed that offline members are no longer visible in the member list. This is due to the server exceeding 1,000 Discord accounts, which limits certain visibility functions.

To restore normal functionality and keep the server manageable, we will be performing a Discord prune. This will remove accounts that have been inactive for 30 days or more.

This does not prevent anyone from returning. Affected users are welcome to rejoin the community at any time by following the standard process outlined in our Discord sign-up thread.

If you have not been active on discord, I encourage you to sign in, say something (such as "hi" in any channel) to prevent your account from being potentially pruned.

Bangladesh

There is a social issue ongoing in Bangladesh that caused concern for a user. I checked the heat map and as we have members from the region:

The death of activist Sharif Osman Hadi, who was shot in Dhaka last week and passed away in Singapore on Thursday, has triggered widespread violent protests and arson across Bangladesh.

The government has declared Saturday a day of national mourning, and the high tension is currently disrupting travel and safety throughout the capital.

Protesters have torched media offices (like The Daily Star) and blocked major roads, with significant anger directed at India following allegations that the suspects fled across the border.

The Risk: Heavy military/police presence and spontaneous street clashes make movement unpredictable, especially near Shahbagh and Manik Mia Avenue.

Discord Pruning

In a few hours (4), I will be performing the discord pruning. I will announce the completion of this pruning after.

We are pleased to announce that we've a new Professor of Charms: Katherine Townsend, played by @Esme Hestridge. Esme has been an absolute powerhouse on the Validations team, and we hope they will bring that energy to Charms, which is one of the highest-traffic classes on the site.

This does mean we will be opening up the position of Prefect of Slytherin shortly.

We are thrilled to announce that Ming (@Camilla Carter) has been voted as our new Caretaker! Aka Mahdi Hassan

They bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record of competency that truly stood out during the application process. Their institutional knowledge, problem solving skills and unique perspective will hopefully strengthen the staff team and enrich out discussions. We are excited to welcome them back to staff.

At the same time, we wish to extend out heartfelt thanks to Avery (EmmaLee Dames) for their outstanding service as Caretaker, Avery has been steadfast and valued member of the team during their tenure with us and we wish them all the best as they return to the user and student side of the community. We hope they enjoy this as much as we enjoyed working alongside them!
