Ooh thats a tricky situation.. I'd give it some time, hang out with them 101 to try and understand my feelings. Once I was sure where I stood (and if I'd find that my crush isn't so tiny) I'd be honest with them.
(btw I love how you adress people as "chat", brings back so many memories )
