Piano theory I'd think would be the knowledge of piano history etc... I took that too when I was learning piano. But it doesn't require you to know how to compose music 👀 I love composing music actually but I can only figure out the main tune (as in the main tune that you play with your right hand, I suck at adding the left hand background supporting stuff...)...

Ok im pretty sure piano therory helps you understand terms like dynamics and stuff
