Slytherin v Gryffindor 3rd Game Finished

The pressure was on. Although she couldn't be certain exactly how much time remained to them, Evelynn was quite certain that they were nearing the limit. Gray eyes cast themselves about the stadium with increasingly frantic desperation. Not only was the weight of Gryffindor's need for a win weighing heavily upon her shoulders, but the need to prove herself was as well. At least she needn't feel foolish compared to her captain.

Again...? She couldn't help but groan inwardly to herself as her careful scrutiny of the stadium revealed the revenge-happy idiot diving towards the opposing seeker and his keeper for a second time. That would be a second penalty, she thought miserably. He missed. And a second one without anything to even show for it. He could have been scoring, she thought miserably.

Her misery only spiked as the American accent of the Ilvermorny Headmaster boomed out the announcement of Slytherin's second goal. Neck and neck the score had become. Her heart skipped a beat, her pulse pounding in her head. She needed to find the snitch. She had to. But where was it? A mixture of adrenaline and fear coursing through her, Evelynn kicked up speed in an attempt to cover more air space. For a second, her breath caught as a glint of gold caught her eye, and she even flattened into a dive to chase after it without even a thought as to whether or not Palmer had also seen it. She pulled up not even a few feet later, the plummet in her stomach due to more than just the counteracting effect of gravity. What she had thought — no, prayed — had been the snitch, was merely some girl's hairpin.

"Tch..." Evelynn glared briefly at the girl, taking her own misdirection as a personal slight. A flush crept over her features at the embarrassment (one that could just as easily be mistaken for exertion). Golden accessories should clearly be banned. Intentional or otherwise, that was game interference right there...

But...nevermind. She could plot revenge another time. And, she considered with a small amount of self-satisfaction, at least she hadn't shown herself to be an utter fool. Both of her hands were securely in situ within each of her Quidditch gloves. Like they ought to be. With a small degree of difficulty and a final huff of hot breath through her nose, Evelynn peeled her attention back to the game at hand, desperate to make the most of what little time remained.

Her heart was beating wildly as she flew around, hoping Dan would tell her if he saw the Snitch. That was the key to winning, after all. If Dan didn’t find the Snitch, Koko doubted they’d be able to win.

Ruby, however, seemed to have thought about this - she made a run for the Quaffle and managed to snag it. Koko grinned as her friend made a flawless goal. “Great job, Ruby!” the girl shouted, throwing a hand up to congratulate her friend.

She put it down nearly immediately, though, because a blur of red was flying straight for them. Perhaps if this hadn’t happened twice before during the game, Koko wouldn’t have been so prepared, but the Gryffindor captain’s intentions were clear. She guided the broom just so, avoiding the blatch, and she couldn’t help but smirk as she lowered her gaze. Best not to be seen smirking, as that was what had pissed Rafael off first.

Still, it was quite funny how Rafael had failed to blatch them not once, but twice. Gryffindor’s captain. Hilarious.

Koko missed her spot back near the goalposts, but being out in the open gave her a feeling that she hadn’t known she’d been missing. She supposed it could have been described as freedom. Freedom, that was what flight gave her.

This was ridiculous. Someone has usually at least FOUND the snitch by now.
He wondered briefly if Lamik would have found the snitch if he hadn't been punted off his broom by the greatest and most adorable Slytherin Mastermind who has ever existed, who's name was of course, Dan Palmer.

At the very least, he saw his strategies coming to fruition, despite being stuck on Koko's broom with her, and perhaps or perhaps not being a liability or an annoyance there.
After the game was over, he made a mental note to apologize to Koko for taking up her broom space for so long. Not now though. Later.
He smirked as they scored again. A wonderful show. And he was pretty sure this was the most points Gryffindor had gotten all year. It was certainly the longest they've lasted in a game. Though with their current team situation, Dan hesitated to call this 'lasting'. More like dangling by a thread, really.

And, just to hammer that point home, Rafael, the Avenging Captain showed how remarkably bad he was at avenging. Managing to miss them TWICE in a row now.
As Koko dodged out of the way like the untouchable queen she was, Dan smiled, and waved at Rafael in just the most infuriating way he could. To be honest, Dan was not a fan of his Quidditch Persona. It wasn't in his nature to be like this. But god, if it wasn't fun messing with the enemy team once in a while.

He told Koko the strategy, despite her probably knowing. Dan had gone through nearly every possible scenario with his team, so they all likely knew the plan already.

Flying back into the action, Bridget wanted nothing more than to be useful. To be more than someone filling a spot. But surveying the game, it was clear sending a bludger for one the the Gryffindors wasn't what they needed. What they needed was a safety net.

The blatching was far from one-sided by now, as the very first thing the Gryffindor Captain did was try to succeed where he'd previously failed. They couldn't lose Koko or Dan. Heart beating faster in her chest, she flew below her targeted teammates, wondering who she would rescue. They were both crucial members of the team, and while they needed Dan to get the Snitch, Koko was an exemplary Keeper.

Thankfully, she didn't have to make the impossible decision, because the blatch missed. By a lot. Koko and Dan dodged the incoming lion like they did that sort of thing all the time. She smirked; the opposing Captain was going to have to take yet another lap of shame with no reward to speak of.

Bridget was aware of the time running down, the seconds ticking away in her head. She didn't know how much time they had left, but it wasn't much. That was one thing she disliked about the school matches--they were over all too soon.

[font=Segoe Print]The Thunderbird’s penalty lap was finally over.

Well, the Gryffindor had taken the entirety of his lap to do some careful pondering, considering carefully matters such as his life choices, friends, enemies, mistakes, and diety. It had surely been a freeing experience, he’d long since decided, as he’d discovered some life-changing revelations. But it was now that he felt himself suffering through an existential crisis –

Where had blatching been his entire life? He couldn’t help but feel drawn to the maneuver, his limbs twitching in anticipation as he longed for the next opportunity to knock some poor sucker out of the sky. Could there be a more perfect feeling, blatching? Was it that he’d found his true love? He couldn’t help but smile, proverbial heart-eyes appearing on his features as he reminisced on the lovely movement, Koko and Dan only having been mere inches away from falling from the sky like dead birds in Stranger Things. What would happen when contact would be made? Would unicorns rain from the sky? Would he finally die and go to heaven?

There was only one way to find out – his eyes narrowed in on his opposing Captain, his eyes burning with a mixture of fury and a crazy kind of love. The fox-child in question was dutifully searching for the snitch upon Koko’s broom – surprise, surprise – having no luck. The perfect distraction. Without much discretion, or care for secrecy, the boy’d lowered his broom once more, slowing down his flying as to match the speed of the opposing Slytherins’. This was it. In one swift move, his foot had jutted out – only to miss?

"Another penalty lap, D'Spacito!"

No, it couldn’t be – the boy had only just discovered the love of his life. Had Dan ripped it cruelly ripped from his fingertips? He felt anger spike through his veins, his face growing increasingly red as his fingertips dug into his broom once more, his iron gaze only sharpening as it followed the two snakes speeding away, fury rolling off of him in thick waves. Well fuck, he decided. Dan had messed with his heart. It didn’t matter if the game was almost over, if the other team had scored, nor whether his anger was breaking game rules. He was going to have to rearrange Dan’s face.

This was it. The game had to end soon. Neither side seemed to have caught sight of the elusive Snitch, including Piérre himself. That was unlike him, for he usually was very good at spotting the little winged ball, but he supposed that everything had a downfall at one point or another.

Biting his lip, Piérre shot to his feet, shouting up to the skies as sparce light caught the glittering '13' on his back. "LET'S GO LIOOOONS! END IT NOOOOOOWWWW!"

Despite how small he was, both heightwise and lengthwise, if the sheer volume wouldn't be able to pierce the air and the cheers, his unseemly heightened alto rising into a soprano would call attention to the exhilarated and adrenaline-filled boy. He wasn't angry, certainly not to the degree as his captain or any angered spectators; no, he was THRILLED. He wanted to ride, and Hugh was doing any and everything to dedicate himself to the cause.

"C'MON HUGH! END IT!"

It really was all pressure on the Keeper, for the teams were neck in neck. It would be a matter of who was more agile and more able to swat the Quaffle out of the air. Piérre had no doubt in his mind that the tall lad would be more than a match for any Slytherin.

Charlie let out a curse under his breath. He still wasn't very good at this chasing thing, it seemed. Bobbing left, weaving right- and the leather ball was simply out of his grasp and barely grazing the tips of his fingers. He didn't have the speed, nor the experience that the other team had, and it was showing. The school broom under him just wasn't cutting it against the others, and his wavering, wobbly skills were making it difficult.
10 points that he'd scored wasn't enough- Slytherin was tied with them. These last moves would be the most integral of the game.

He wanted to win.

It was anyone's game- the last few points could be wrung by anyone- He wanted to be that someone. He wanted to be anything but a loser right now.

Slytherin v Gryffindor 3rd Game Finished
The Quaffle was promptly taken to and put through Gryffindor's hoops once more. Tied again. The game seemed to be more of a chasing in goals, neither team seeming to have any luck with the snitch yet. It was becoming almost annoying, being stuck on the benches as her first string teammates fought for the win, and Thora grew more restless with each passing minute. Perhaps it was the adrenaline rush that sent the typically patient girl's foot tapping, or frustration at Slytherin's poorer-than-normal performance (or so she thought), but as anyone could tell, she was anxious for a victory.

The referee would surely cut the game short at some point, as they were merely young students on brooms, so they would have to work hard to score quickly. The match was tied. They had been going back and forth for quite a while. It now appeared that either team could come out on top, not only if the Snitch was found and caught, but also the Quaffle handled well. But who would really win? Only time would tell.

Soaring through the wind, the part giant gritted his teeth. These foul snakes seemed to be putting on a fight. Good on them, maybe they’d finally show some real good form rather than the shabby cannonball tactics they seemed to favour. Maybe they just lacked decent skill altogether in flying and knew they’d only stand a chance through foul play. Or they just enjoyed doing laps the most. His own captain wasn’t much either so it seemed. Disappointment had filled his entire body, and he had quite a large body to fill up. Closing ranks, he heard Friday call out. That kid seemed to have merit after all, a smirk appeared in the gryffindor’s face as he nodded towards his fellow keeper.

It was down to the end game now. Both teams were neck in neck, neither seeker had spotted to snitch and it appeared the game was going to all be determined by quaffle goals.

No longer worried about taking any notes, the young co-captain stood up, getting as close to the field as possible. If only she could have seen anything with her 3rd eye that would have give her a clue as to how the game would finish, or that could have helped influence their strategies.

This was it. The final countdown.
