All they needed was to find the snitch and then Hufflepuff would win! As Daphne finished her lap, she would notice Avery looking for the snitch and adjust herself on her broom as she began to head towards him, keeping herself steady. She prayed that this would work this time, there still was time for her team to win.

SECOND STRING

While Oonagh brown and Frederick cheered from the sidelines for their gryffindor captain, the captain was only half as enthusiastic as the boos from one Callum, of Hufflepuff seemed to dampen his spirits as well. Unlike Ethan however, no one really decided to boo at Sage, perhaps the effects of being one of the amazing third year student in Hogwarts. Sage did indeed find a supporter for her cause in Landon.

With the insane cheers Sage seemed to be garnering, they could only ahead and backbeat kora elliot out the sky with insane force, along with Kora, felling gryffindor's pillar that they'd found in Pax Zhang. Oouchie.

Ethan however did not take lightly of their gryffindor co-captain's wings being cut down, dual wielding both the bats, he aimed once at Camilla, hitting her square and sending the young bird tumbling down, a ricochet flew off towards Sage but she dodged it so easily, one wouldn't guess there was a bludger heading her way.

The second one came for Mamori, a shot they easily dodged as well.

With Hufflepuff still in a major lead, the game seemed to be nowhere near finished. No one had caught the snitch yet, but Camilla, the absolute champ, scored another 40 points! Yeah, there was no way they were losing. It couldn’t be that long until it was over, with many of the Lions knocked off their brooms. To hopefully hurry up the win, Gabriele flew past the Gryffindor captain whom he did not know the name of. Glancing over, Gabriele flashed them an up-to-no good troublesome grin. In the next moment, his cheat landed as a well-placed elbow in their stomach. Hah! Take that! he thought smugly and then hurried off. Heart racing, Gabi darted past, hoping no one noticed his little cheat.

Despite getting caught by Prat and sentenced to a penalty lap, Mamori considered it an absolute win. Blatching two people at once was the peak satisfaction he'd been waiting for all match. Whittled down to just two players still in play, Gryffindor was beyond saving at this point, and in his entirely unbiased opinion they had their aggressive blatching strategy to thank for it. The Badgers still had enough scorers to win even if Oonagh went full dual-wielding (most just so happened to share his sentence of circling the pitch, but details). Fully satisfied with himself, Mamori began his laps while humming a distinctly off-key melody. If he survived his penalty laps and the match hadn't ended yet, he'd personally escort his fellow former co-captain off the pitch — via blatching, of course.

Frederick straightened his posture and gave Oonagh a single nod. No, he wasn’t about to end up in the hospital wing before even getting onto the pitch. That would be far too embarrassing, he thought, and Fred was sure he’d be the first person to manage such a feat if it happened. Still, at the rate things were going, he’d probably end up there anyway.

Things were not going well for the Gryffindor team, and Fred watched with a tightness in his chest as several players in red and gold were thrown from their brooms one by one, including the captains. He knew his moment had come and prepared to mount his broom. Swallowing hard as he kicked off into the air, Frederick tried to calm his nerves.

Gryffindor was at a huge disadvantage in numbers, in points and in players, and that did nothing to help Fred’s mindset. He had certainly imagined his first official match very differently from this. How was he going to tell his father about this loss? What would his friends in the stands think? He wondered as he cut through the air in a diagonal ascent, rising until he was level with the other players and taking his position in front of the three large iron hoops.

With a panoramic view of the pitch now that he was high in the air on his broom, Frederick scanned the positions of his opponents and his few remaining allies. He felt his heart racing, adrenaline surging through his veins, leaving him alert and ready to act when needed, despite all the nerves of his first official match ever. With an almost physical effort, Fred tried to focus his thoughts on the game. Even while losing, he still wanted to help the team in some way. If he was going down, he’d go down swinging.

The cards were not in her favor that day. A frustrated huff escaped her lips, but there was no time to sit and think. It was a time of life or death. She had to do something useful to salvage what was left of the Gryffindor team.

The guy she had been talking to on the bench seemed to have taken her seriously, which was a mistake few seemed to actually make and Oonagh snorted, before getting up from the bench as Gryffindor's started dropping like flies.

Sigh, she thought as she mounted her own broom and lifted off into what was sure doom. Shadow pains of her last bludger collision momentarily made anger boil within her. She would not back out though, despire their loss being a sure thing. She would go down fighting. If only she had been in the game earlier, perhaps then she could have had a chance to actually cause some mayhem.

Landon continued to cheer for his team mate, smiling widely. Hufflepuff was doing so well this match and Landon was so proud of them. So many points up, though they hadn't caught the snitch, and Landon was confident that they would win the game. He watched as his team mates played, barely staying in his seat when he watched his team scoring points. Another forty points to add to their total. Gryffindor had only scored a couple of times, so Landon wasn't worried. Sure, half of the team had to do penalty laps, but they were still doing well. Landon looked at his team mates on the bench with him and smiled widely. "We've got this in the bag!"
